We have been very happy with the standard of care and the integrity and compassion of the carers. There was one instance at the beginning when a call was changed due to a personality clash with my husband. But he is pleased with the ladies that call now.

Home Instead has been magnificent in its support for our family over the last 15 months. We were becoming desperate in dealing appropriately with Mum's condition of Alzheimer's whilst maintaining her ability to stay at home. The caregivers have showed patience and understanding and made a real difference
to Mum's quality of life. Thank you for all you have done in supporting Mum and our family. The service you have provided has been excellent and much appreciated at a very difficult time.

Home Instead has worked with us to meet our parents changing needs over the last 6 months. We cannot fault the care and support, behind the scenes staff and management. Communications have been very good, the standard of care is high and our parents have gone from not wanting any carers to enjoying
having carers in their home.

I find everything satisfactory except the fact that I am not always told of any changes to who is coming as a helper.

The team leader and the team were great to deal with in setting up the care arrangements for our mother who has early-stage Alzheimer's Disease. Our carer has been coming twice weekly for several months now and she has built up a really good rapport with mum, despite mum's initial resistance to someone
coming in.
In fact, she now really looks forward to her visits. It is comforting to know that Home Instead will be able to tailor their service according to our mother's changing needs in the future.

The care that Mum received was always friendly, dignified and suitable to her needs. Her needs were reviewed at regular intervals and she was always advised honestly if changes were required. The caregivers were carefully chosen to be the best fit with Mum and her circumstances and if necessary carer
changes were made immediately. Over the time that Mum received care her caregivers became friends who now visit her in her residential home - a wonderful testament to their lovely natures. The organisation regularly assessed Mum's changing needs due to changed circumstances and they were also very honest and open in what they would or would not be able to provide to allow Mum the best possible quality of life. At no point did we feel either pressured to accept their suggestions or was Mum's ability to make her own decisions either ignored or denigrated.
Overall a very professional, caring and well-managed service - thank you!

Home Instead provided consistent personnel and outstanding care and support to our father over many years. This allowed him to stay on in the home that he loved until the end of his life, despite increasing physical and mental frailty. For this, our family will always be hugely grateful. Thank you so
much to the whole team for everything that they did and the care and compassion that they showed.

Home Instead are providing daily care for my mother who has Alzheimer's Disease. The carers are friendly, helpful, attentive and chatty. They provide an extensive service including personal care, cooking of meals, medication, housework and taking her to daycare centres. Each visit is recorded and this
provides a useful account of how the day has gone. Any issues are promptly reported to the office and that information is sent on to me. Staff, both carers and office, are always extremely helpful and keen to provide the best service possible to enable my mother to continue living at home. Without their support life for my mother and our family would be a great deal more stressful.

I would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead. All those that work for the company have been very helpful and courteous. A Care Package was put in place very quickly once the need arose. My Parents appreciated that they were visited by a regular Care Worker so they were able to get to know her and
feel safe under her care.

I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone considering care at home. Throughout the process, the office staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Mum was initially hesitant about having help at home but once she met the warm, caring and friendly carer, she soon came to look forward to seeing
her every morning.

I cannot speak too highly of the service my disabled husband has received - friendly, cheerful and very helpful - at the same time very professional. I would certainly recommend Home Instead to anyone.

It's the attention to detail and going the extra mile; cooking a bacon sarnie after reminiscing with Pa about being a butcher all his life, singing You're a Pink Toothbrush with Mum in the bathroom, going back an hour later when Pa wanted a lay-in, dropping them to the Day Centre so they would definitely
get there! Ensuring medication was taken by the right person at the right time.
I can't thank you enough for being part of their lives and making such a huge difference.

The service and care provided by Home Instead has been without fault. The process and admin is efficient and straightforward and, more importantly, the care provided to my parents has made such a positive difference to them. The carer professionally managed an initial reluctance on the part of my parents;
through her diligent and respectful conduct she has become a trusted and valued part of their home life. It is unfortunate that they need to move out of area as they will miss the regular visits from their Home Instead carer.

Always found the caregivers extremely patient, kind and very caring. They were always polite too.
Due to my mum's circumstances the care need for her changed over time and the care agency work with us as a family so Mum would receive the best possible care they could give her and it allowed her to
stay at home.
Would always recommend them.

Job Title: Managing Director

Setting up my own business has been part of a truly life-changing period of my life. In 2010 I received the devastating news that I had secondary cancer. Since then life has been a whirlwind of treatment (all successful thank goodness) and making major changes to ensure that I live the life I want to in the future. It may sound strange but the experience I have been through has genuinely changed my life for the better. The people that I have met in the care sector have been amazing and have inspired me to do something worthwhile and meaningful, to dedicate myself to helping others.

I have left behind my job as an executive of a company that took me to America and across Europe for a role which is much more important to me, one where I can use my knowledge and business experience to do what really matters in life, which is ensuring good quality care is available for people when they need it.

My role is to provide leadership and direction to the team to ensure we focus on our values. I spend time developing the team, planning for the future and maintaining our relationships in the Windsor and Chertsey community. If you need good dementia or at-home care for yourself or for a loved one, please contact us to discuss how we can help.

Job Title: Live-in Care Manager

I currently live in Wraysbury (and have done so on and off since 1977) with my 86 year-old mum. I moved back home full time in 2014 after the sudden and unexpected death of my dad – everyone says, “oh, it’s lovely that you look after your mum” but it’s actually the other way round; mum still looks after me – I get a cup of tea at 6.45 am and the offer of porridge if I would like it, plus evening meals and a magic washing basket!

I was a Metropolitan Police Officer for 21 years, followed by 14 years as manager of a Bureau De Change business in Central London and then 6 years as a Security Courier for a Foreign Exchange Wholesaler in Victoria. I am also a qualified Toastmaster (Red Tailcoat) officiating at Weddings, Civic Functions and large events.

So how did I become a CAREGiver? – As a result of the first lockdown in March 2020, all my business opportunities dried up. After spending three months working in the garden and house, I started to look around for a nice part-time job. I saw the advert for Home Instead Windsor and thought, “I can do that!” so I applied. I was successful with my application and joined in June 2020. I absolutely loved meeting my new clients and with the help and encouragement of my fellow CAREGivers and Supervisors, I quickly settled into the role. My part-time job rapidly became full time and I have really enjoyed learning about all aspects of personal care and in particular challenging behaviour and dementia.

Towards the end of November last year, I applied for the role of Area Supervisor, and much to my surprise, I was accepted. I am working hard to learn the necessary skills to support my clients and CAREGivers – being a “Techno-Dinosaur” doesn’t help but you will always see me with a smile on my face.

Job Title: Compliance and Admin

In 2013, I decided I needed a career change. Day in day out my job was always the same, so after careful consideration and discussions with my husband, I left to seek something more rewarding. It didn’t take me long. I saw an advertisement to become a CAREGiver with Home Instead Windsor, applied and never looked back.

My day to day routine is never the same, but every day I smile. Whether it be with my wonderful clients who I visit on a regular basis or one of the girls I work with within the office. I have the best of both worlds.

My clients are special to me and I hope they get as much pleasure with me visiting them, as they give to me. We laugh, we sing, we sometimes cry but every day is rewarding, and I leave with the knowledge that today, I made a difference in someone’s life, albeit a small difference.

Equally, my work in the office making our wonderful CAREGivers compliant is very rewarding. We have mad days and glad days, but we get through them together as a team and we smile.

For me there is no other job, I just wish I had changed careers 30 years ago.
