We used the domiciliary care service provided by Bluebird Care for my father-in-law. As his needs changed, they showed flexibility and the communication from the care team and management was truly excellent. Not living close to him, the daily notes were invaluable and the manager was always quick to
respond to emails and calls. The office team were always on hand and the out-of-hours service was helpful and efficient. The whole team cared about my father-in-law's welfare and it really showed in the overall care he received. I seriously can't fault them. We've recently had to move to full-time live-in care but of course, we have stayed with Bluebird Care.

We have changed Dad's care company to Bluebird Care and we made the best decision. His care needs have changed in a short space of time and his care package has been very well assessed.
He lives independently in a self-contained apartment.
All carers are lovely, friendly and experienced. The management
is always on hand and very adaptive with clients' needs, always on time, chat throughout the visits as well. The app is amazing, you can see the care visit and also rota for peace of mind.
Highly recommend Bluebird and thank you for looking after our dad so well.
We feel confident he has the best care when we need to go away.

Very pleased with the service and recording keeping for Mother's care. During the period of care her needs increased from 2 to 4 visits per day. The increasing number of falls meant that a single carer was insufficient to cope with her growing needs. All carers spent time talking with Mother as well
as doing the ever-growing list of required tasks.

Mum can't sing the praises of Bluebird Care high enough. Mum says everyone has been wonderful and very caring. She has really enjoyed welcoming the carers into her home and eventually embraced her weekly dining visit. That was a result given her reluctance to accept care in the first place. My sister,
brother and myself have valued the service and feedback. Highly recommended

Until now, my wife and I have experienced a fair, cross-section of staff who attend to my wife's personal care. We have not been disappointed.

My mum has had twice weekly visits from Bluebird for almost a year. She and I have been impressed by the continuity of care, which means she feels very comfortable with the same carers who have got to know her and provide support in a very bespoke way. They have been reliable, respectful and compassionate
from the word go. I feel reassured and grateful to have them (and the pleasant office staff!) take care of Mum.

Carers are extremely good, very professional and helpful and engage well with the client.
The only point which is a little lacking is the administration but with lots of problems, weather, sickness, leave etc. of carers, they do a difficult job well.

We needed to arrange care quickly to get my father out of the hospital. Most of the agencies I spoke to couldn't help at all or would arrange care in a few weeks. Bluebird offered care in a week and provided superb service. Communication was good, the office was well organised and the carers were all
friendly, professional and patient. They were always punctual even when a storm put flooded roads and fallen trees in the way. Bluebird are not the cheapest care agency, but I cannot imagine anyone else giving a better service.

Bluebird have been visiting my mum daily for a few months now after she had a series of falls. My mum was initially reluctant to accept any care but recently told me that she really enjoys their visits now, how pleasant, cheerful and helpful they all are. I already thought this from Day 1, from our
initial meeting to discuss my mum’s requirements, to any ongoing requests or changes to care. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Mum has only had care for two days per week during July and August 2023 so far. In that time, I have had contact with the carers, the management and the office staff. Without exception, all staff are professional, courteous and kind, being responsive to any queries or changes of need. I particularly
appreciate how reliable the carers have been. I would not hesitate to highly recommend this agency to anyone who requires a care package.

All the carers have been very efficient, helpful and punctual. They are very polite and raise my wife's spirits when I feel down. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they always put her needs first. It can be a quick wash or change a really messy pad.
When one of the carers has been unavailable at
short notice another is always provided by the company, often after a phone call explaining the changes.

Bluebird carers and management are kind, very helpful and responsive to needs and changes. Carers are very personable and friendly, always checking what Mum needed and giving her choices. I am well pleased with the service provided by Bluebird. Some carers are better than others but the general view is that the carers produce excellent service, always with a smile on their face. They help me considerably to get through the day. One reason is that they bring me newspapers early in the
day. (It seems newsagents and other retail outlets do not deliver anymore). Since having a grave dose of COVID I cannot read a book anymore which upsets me having been an avid reader all my life.
Having employed Bluebird for over two years I have only once recommended that a particular carer no longer cares for me.
I am critical of Bluebird's management occasionally. I feel that whenever there is a management change affecting my carers, management should inform me accordingly.

Alexander is a retired Infantry Officer of the British Army where he served tours in both Bosnia and Afghanistan. Having left the army, he completed a Master’s business degree and worked in London for a national energy company. Alexander has spent a lot of his spare time fundraising and organising events to raise money and awareness for the ‘British Limbless Ex-Service Men’s Association’, BLESMA.


Alexander enjoys surfing on Bantham Beach and is an avid photographer and is also occasionally seen accompanying Emma on his 1965 BSA Bantam ‘Tom’ when the mood takes his bike.

I am very proud to be the operations manager of Bluebird Care Torbay, Plymouth and South Hams. I have been in post for almost three years and since that time I have supported the team to go from strength to strength. In 2019 we were awarded Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission which was the best accolade that we could receive as a marker of both our success and the quality of the support we provide to our customers.


I have over 30 years experience of working in the health and social care field and I remain registered with the Healthcare Professional Council as a Social Worker. I have worked in social service departments and the NHS for a large part of my career.

Job Title: Live in Manager

Carol joined the team as a Locality Manager in Feb 2018, having spent the previous ten years managing a multi-site operation delivering a service to the elderly across Devon.


In Nov 2018, the Live-in Care Manager position became available and Carol was excited to step into this role and begin developing the service.


As the Live-in Care Manager, it is Carol’s responsibility to deliver support packages that enable her customers to live safely & independently in their own homes for as long as possible. She communicates with her customers, family members and health professionals daily, she leads by providing support & guidance to a team of dedicated carers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of the people in our community.


In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family & friends and taking long walks on the beach with her husband and dog Reggie.

Dawn Hackett

Dawn has worked in the Care Industry since 2006. She has predominantly worked within domiciliary care and the fact that she has worked as a carer, and graduated to more of an office-based role, gives her an empathetic view throughout. In 2022 Dawn supported the team through a difficult period and we were extremely pleased when she took on the role of Registered Manager in early 2023.


In her spare time, you will find Dawn across the South West, at cat shows, where she will be gaining Championship titles for her privileged felines.

Georgia had many varied roles before joining us at Bluebird in 2020 as a Care worker. Georgia decided to apply for the post of coordinator in spring 2023 and was successful in her interview. Georgia is enjoying being a part of the office team and is taking to her new role well. The role of the coordinator is one where a cool head and diplomacy can be required. I think Georgia has both!


Georgia likes to spend her spare time with her dog Sushi and enjoys nights out with her friends.

Ellie Pendall

Job Title: Care Manager

Joined: 2015

Ellie joined the team in 2015 as an apprentice and since then has worked with us as a co-ordinator for 6 years, before recently starting as a care manager for the Plympton and Plymstock locality. Ellie has completed her NVQ levels 2, 3 and 5 since joining Bluebird. In her current role, she assesses and regularly reviews customer needs and ensures staff are happy and well-supported in their role. Ellie has also recently been made Deputy Manager.
In her spare time, Ellie enjoys walking and babysitting her brother’s sausage dogs as much as possible. She also enjoys listening to music and is a massive Taylor Swift and Mcfly fan.

Marissa Pascoe

Job Title: Field Supervisor

Joined: 2018

Marissa has worked in care for 31 years and first worked at Bluebird Care in 2013. Marissa left for a couple of years and returned in January 2018 as a care worker, she then became a field supervisor in February 2019. Her role in the company is to provide contingency care cover when required, to monitor and mentor care workers in the field, and to support the functioning of the office. Marissa is also responsible for the running of the website, celebrating carers' length of service and customers' length of time with Bluebird.


In her spare time, Marissa likes to spend time with her two Granddaughters and Grandson. She also likes diamond painting, gardening, bingo and pebble painting.

Helen Gray

Job Title: Field Supervisor

Joined: 2015

Helen joined Bluebird as a care worker in 2015 and was promoted to field supervisor in March 2021. Helen's role is to provide contingency care cover, monitor and mentor care workers in the field, and support the functioning of the office. Helen is in charge of the customer sparkles alongside Julia.

Kelly joined Our Bluebird family in May 2020 During the height of Covid 19 as a Carer for our city area. Kelly joined us via a care friend referral by her lifetime friend Louise Elmes. Kelly is a caring and bubbly person, who after never working in a care role before applied herself fully to her job. Kelly then went on to apply for a Field Care Supervisor role in September 2022 and after a successful interview process, Kelly has settled into the office well.


In her spare time, Kelly likes spending time catching up with her mum, dad, sister, brother, and grandad. Kelly also enjoys family meals with her son Harvey and partner Ryan.
