Having previously held senior executive positions in the UK logistics industry and Central Government, Robert decided to combine his transferable business skills gained across the private and public sectors with those skills of his wife Gail, whose professional care career commenced as an NHS nurse at Ormskirk Hospital over thirty years ago.
Commenting on the formation of Home Instead West Lancashire and Chorley, Robert said: "Both Gail and I share a common desire to become an established part of the local West Lancashire care community, changing the face of ageing, and becoming the provider of choice by delivering the highest possible quality care services to adults and older people in their own homes."

Gail has both professional and personal experience of care in the local community and has also sadly experienced first-hand the difficult and near-impossible challenges many families have faced when service providers have failed to deliver even the most basic levels of dignity and care.
Training locally in Lancashire as a nurse, Gail has over thirty years of experience in the health care service, primarily within the NHS as a clinician and senior manager. Gail has a managed and incredible work-life balance, gaining an impressive portfolio of qualifications including attaining a BSc (Hons) in Professional Health Studies.
Gail goes on to say "In 2010, both Robert and I researched the local options and possibilities with the intent of opening our own new care company. We are determined to make a difference locally, offering high-quality care services that are based around tailored care plans, respect and dignity."

Rebecca has worked in the health and social care sector since 2009. Before this, Rebecca worked in retail and studied Nursing at University. Around this time Rebecca realised her passion lay in community-based care and support, enabling individuals to maintain their independence and to remain living in their own homes.
Rebecca's journey in the social care sector began as a care assistant, soon progressing into the role of care coordinator, managing the client and staff rotas. Whilst in this role, Rebecca gained her Level 3 Management qualification and soon progressed into a Deputy Manager role. As deputy manager, Rebecca specialised in Dementia care; something Rebecca is extremely passionate about.
It was in this role, that Rebecca wanted to further her skills and learning and achieved her Level 5 Managers award and gained her Registered Managers Award.
Rebecca joined Home Instead West Lancashire & Chorley as the Registered Care Manager in April 2022. It was the company's ethos and values that attracted Rebecca to the company.

Before working in adult social care, Dawn worked in the fashion industry. The job satisfaction Dawn now has is non-comparable because of each client she has met throughout her journey. Dawn started with Home Instead in 2017 as a care professional delivering excellent care to all clients. Home Instead West Lancashire and Chorley recognised Dawn’s passion, her attention to detail and how important practising safely was to her. She was soon promoted to our Quality Compliance Officer. This role ensures the care we deliver is to a high standard, but most importantly, she ensures we practice safely. Dawn completes regular audits which enables her to monitor each client and care professional closely to ensure we are providing the best care possible.
Dawn manages our virtual ward, a system we have developed for any clients who require additional monitoring due to changes in their well-being. This system is designed to avoid hospital admission, monitor any health deterioration that would involve other healthcare professionals and most importantly, keep our clients at home for longer.

Nikki has worked in the Care Sector for over twenty years in both general and mental health sectors. Nikki has worked in a variety of roles throughout this time and has developed a wealth of knowledge and experience and as such will be a pivotal member of our 'Health Care at Home' team, providing specialist care services to our lovely clients. Nikki has also achieved her QCF Level 3 in health and social care.

Harriet has been with Home Instead since 2014. Harriet began her journey as a CAREGiver and now has a pivotal role as our Care Coordinator. With over ten years of experience working within the Care Sector, Harriet has developed a wide range of knowledge and practical skills that make her effective in her role as Care Coordinator.
Harriet undertakes Care Consultations with potential clients and their families, demonstrating patience, kindness and understanding in order to reassure families that their loved ones will receive the highest possible quality and support when in receipt of a care package from Home Instead. Harriet also supports our Client and CAREGiver Quality Assurance processes.
"I am really passionate about clients being comfortable in their own homes, and their care is centred on their actual needs, not the provider’s requirements. The best bit of the job for me is visiting clients and seeing them content and settled at home with support around them."

Working as the Finance Officer for Home Instead West Lancashire & Chorley, Ruth has a strong background in finance including; bookkeeping, payroll and accounts, and consistently providing a most valuable service to our wonderful clients, their families and our team.
“My role is very varied and includes tasks such as invoicing – collating all necessary information and production of final invoices, collection of payment for invoices, processing of mileage claims, correlation of information for wages for our CAREGivers and Key Workers and then processing this information for submission to HMRC and setting up payments.”

Liam first joined us in February 2020. Having originally joined us via a placement opportunity thanks to our partnership with Edge Hill University. At the time, he was acting as our Social Media and Website Content Administrator for several months before this officially turned into a part-time role. Doing this whilst continuing with his University Studies.
After achieving his qualification in Business & Management, he then decided to continue his studies further, completing a Master's and graduating with a degree in Marketing & Branding Communications. As such, we were very happy to announce in November 2023, Liam has brought the skills and knowledge she gained at University, to Home Instead West Lancashire and Chorley as our full-time Digital Transformation Officer. Helping to increase the overall presence we have across the online and digital landscape.

Julie is the first person you will interact with when arriving at the office, her friendly and bubbly personality will welcome you with open arms when visiting Home Instead West Lancashire and Chorley.
Julie has many years of administrative experience and joined our team in 2021. Julie ensures all telephone enquiries are handled or directed to the correct department. Julie’s tasks vary each day, she supports the key players in the office, handles all postage, ensures all orders and deliveries are organised and on time and uses our systems to ensure all information is up to date. Julie coordinates any celebrations we organise, including Christmas celebrations, work anniversaries and seasonal celebrations. One key task that Julie completes is our Q&As with our clients and their family members. Julie ensures that we are providing the best care possible for all our clients by monitoring their visits, staying in contact with all relevant individuals and directing all information to the relevant department, ensuring our clients are supported in the best way. Julie is friendly, and caring and will always make you smile.
