Home Instead helped us with dad's care for nine months. During this time, dad was diagnosed with vascular dementia with Parkinson-isms and Alzheimer's. Communication was excellent between carers and family and also the admin team. Having the same regular carers was also great for dad. Always kind, patient
and genuinely caring, not only about dad but the strain this cruel disease puts on the family too. Dad's carers and the admin team, were incredibly supportive of me as the local daughter, especially when things deteriorated. I would not hesitate to recommend the Home Instead, Weston-Super-Mare team to others.

Home Instead assist me in caring for my mother, who is 93 and living with dementia. Since using Home Instead, they have stuck by the initial discussion and agreement to how my mother should be cared for and at times have gone beyond what is expected of them. In September 2022, My mother fell really
ill and was basically paralysed, the Home Instead team were amazing, they stepped up without being asked and were a massive support for my mother and myself.

Reply from Mike Keig, Owner at Home Instead (Weston-Super-Mare, Burnham on Sea & North Somerset)

Thank you so much for sharing. It's lovely to hear how the care your mum is receiving is benefitting you both. I look forward to feeding your positive comments, back to the team. Thank you again.

Home Instead have been so helpful. They're always in contact if there are any issues and the ladies who visit my mother are very kind and chatty with her. They visit two or three times a day to provide meals and drinks and are often available to fill in when we are not available.
We've been really
delighted with their service which has allowed my 96 year old Mum to stay in her own home.

Reply from Luisa Keig, Director at Home Instead (Weston-Super-Mare, Burnham on Sea & North Somerset)

My mum was supported at home for just over 6 months by Home Instead. Sadly they only had regular availability for two mornings, and we had to rely on help from less suitable sources for other visits. They were able to help out during holidays with extra visits. All the staff were professional and friendly
and mum liked them all. Mum was always treated with respect and kindness. The girls who visited never rushed Mum and stayed their full allocated time. The support received gave the family peace of mind and I would say they all went the extra mile for Mum. We were able to follow the care given on their customer portal. Whenever I spoke to the office I was dealt with professionally and courteously and any arrangements were always honoured. Sadly Mum deteriorated and needed full-time care, but I would recommend Home Instead to anyone looking for home care.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, which I will feed back to everyone - it's always so nice to hear about our team going the "extra mile". We wish you, your mum and the family all the best.

Home Instead has been supporting and caring for Mum for a while. We have been very pleased with the care she has received from Home Instead and would be happy to recommend them. Home Instead has always tried to match the carers to Mum, looking at Mum’s life and her likes and then finding a carer to
suit. They try their best to keep to the same carers, so Mum can welcome them into her home as friends. This also helps with the care she receives as it becomes consistent.

Reply from Luisa Keig, Owner at Home Instead (Weston-Super-Mare, Burnham on Sea & North Somerset)

Thank you so much for taking the time to feedback to us. It's so nice to read how appreciated the care we provide your mum is. I'll make sure the whole team are made aware of your comments, thank you.

I asked for help from Home Instead following a stay in hospital with pneumonia. I live alone and found difficulty with independent living. My family do not live locally and I am reluctant to call on them for help. The care manager interviewed me and matched me with perfect people who I felt I could
trust and have been unfailingly supportive and helpful

We used Home Instead to support my mother-in-law for several years. We cannot fault the service we received. My mother-in-law got on well with her carers and they were always there for us when she had a problem.

Choosing Home Instead as the carers for my mother is the best thing we could ever have done for our mother who has dementia. Neither my brother nor I live nearby and so, particularly during the pandemic, we have been totally reliant on the care given by the carers and they are quite frankly exceptional
in every way. My mother regards her carers as her friends - the trust is such that has developed. For myself, there is an immense worry that is associated with trusting other people with the care of such a precious person as your mother, my worries evaporated when I met the carers and when I speak to my mother daily. She is happy, cared for, cooked for, loves the company and most importantly feels valued and secure. I cannot thank all at Home Instead for this level of care. I do not deal so much with office matters, that is my brother's job, but he finds all to be accommodating and informative and we get regular updates. I cannot speak highly enough about Home Instead - they have made such a difference.

Thank you for taking the time to post such a lovely review. I am really pleased you and your brother are so happy with the care our team provide. I will make sure this is fed back to all involved (what a lovely job to do on a dreary morning!). It is a pleasure to continue to care for your mum and help her to live independently in her home.

Home Instead has been supporting and caring for my in-laws for almost 2 years and have always been professional, compassionate and met all their needs throughout. Their carers have provided an excellent standard of care and supported them through the peaks and troughs. The office has always answered
any queries swiftly and was able to meet any additional requests, you are never made to feel it is too much trouble. This has been a high quality, efficient service supporting individuals and families with a fantastic standard of care. They have maintained this throughout the pandemic and never let us down. Thank you.

Home Instead has cared for my 94-year-old father for a number of years. He has always been exceptionally well looked after and the care, commitment and contribution made to his life in his later years has been outstanding. He always looked forward to his care visits and somehow our requests for last-minute
extra calls were always met, as if by magic, by the team in the office!
Thank you, Home Instead, for not only providing wonderful personal care but also a fantastic rapport with Dad, bringing just a few hours of laughter to his house each day. Living 200 miles from Dad, it was hugely reassuring that his carers were always happy to speak to me directly if I rang while they were there with him and communication with staff in the office always felt like talking to friends.
I have already recommended Home Instead to two of Dad's friends who are equally delighted by the service they receive and I would not hesitate in recommending you again.

I am very impressed by the caliber of staff who care for a family member with dementia. His behaviour can be quite challenging at times, but nothing fazes them. They are very caring, patient towards him, engage well with him and he greatly enjoys their company. It is good to hear them sing with him
and the banter and laughter they enjoy together. They even manage to persuade him to do his exercises. Nothing is too much trouble. Their support and help to me is impressive and very much appreciated too. Their professionalism and dedication are first class. The best company I have ever used. I only wish I’d found them before.

Home Instead (Weston-Super-Mare, Burnham on Sea & North Somerset) have looked after both my mother and my aunt. I cannot praise them highly enough. Their care givers have looked after both of them with such kindness and compassion. They have been thoughtful and proactive in anticipating their needs
and really care about their well-being. My sister and I live at some distance from Weston and it has given us such peace of mind to know that the care givers are "on the ground" keeping an eye on them. When crises in their health have occurred Home Instead (Weston-Super-Mare, Burnham on Sea & North Somerset) have just swung into action immediately and taken care of the situation until we could get there. We could not have coped over the last few years without them.

Awesome! So many instances where the carers go the extra mile such as calling me and lodging concerns. Just one example, when my father died, my mother's lift didn't turn up to take her to see him at the Chapel of Rest and that day's carer took control and drove her there so she didn't miss her appointment.
The Home Instead (Weston-Super-Mare, Burnham on Sea & North Somerset) policy of matching up carers to the client and then sending the same ones, helps enormously. Despite my mother's dementia, she is able to remember her carers and feels that she has a personal relationship with them.

My mother suffered from Dementia and her care needs changed as her condition deteriorated. The Home Instead team helps us to access my Mother's care needs, implemented any changes quickly and without fuss.
All the carers were extremely professional and friendly paying my mother the utmost courtesy.
They were always available to help my father with his practical and emotional needs.
I have no hesitation recommending the Home Instead service for any of your care needs.

All of the team at Home Instead have been superb throughout the time that they were supporting mum. As mum needed more support the caregivers responded to ensure mum was safe and able to stay in her independent living accommodation as long as possible. As well as vital health and safety support they
brightened her day and helped her mental health and well being. The office team played a big part too in ensuring consistent and extra cover in difficult circumstances, sometimes at short notice, and in providing training where needed to ensure the caregivers could do what was needed. Mum nor I can thank them enough for all the help and support provided. Having continuity in the caregiving team was important to mum and Home Instead never failed in this.

I've been extremely satisfied with the service provided and the care, kindness, patience and compassion consistently shown by all the caregivers over the past 3 years or so. My parents remained in their own home for much longer than ever anticipated and this could not have been achieved without Home
Instead's input. I have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them.

Having reached 95 Mum was not coping as she would wish to and was still living in her home, we decided to contact Home Instead and asked about limited assistance for Mum. They could not have been more helpful - or considerate in their approach, they performed an assessment in such a low profile manner
that it caused no anxiety for either Mum or my brother and I, and agreed that they could provide the assistance with Mum's personal care that we had asked for. The following day they suggested that the carer should meet with Mum - she was a young mum herself and fitted in perfectly, Mum became very comfortable with her almost immediately. Care continued for several months before Covid 19 was declared at which point precautions were implemented, yet the personal touch was not lost. At the end of lockdown, we needed to move Mum into a residential home as the lack of company was taking its toll.
Home Instead were so helpful and understanding throughout, you could not ask for better. Many thanks!

I was born and raised on the Isle of Wight with my sister and twin brother. When I left school, I took up a 3 year course at college for landscape gardening which I really enjoyed doing and being outdoors. Then I worked for 2 Harvester restaurants as part of the management team in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. I moved back to the Isle of Wight and that's when I came across care, I worked for 2 care companies, but I had to stop after my motorbike accident back in 2015. When I was able to go back to work, I moved back to Hertfordshire and started to work for Home Instead in Hemel Hempstead as a care coordinator.

I then moved to Sampford Courtenay and lived there for 4 years, but I also worked for the Tavistock Home Instead office where I was the On Call Manager and Scheduler for 3 & a half years.

Care is a job that I enjoy doing to help and support anyone who needs people like us and find the job very rewarding. I speak to our clients and Care Professionals every day, asking how their day has been and lots more, it is so lovely to hear stories from clients and what they enjoy doing.

The training and support that I got from Home Instead over the 6 years have been amazing, they are always willing to go that extra mile no matter what and working with the office team and care professionals have also been really supportive.

Home Instead is just one big happy family…
