As a family we were very happy with the service provided by Right At Home. The carers visited at time agreed and were friendly and willing to help.

My family used the services of Right at Home since 2014. My father had suffered a stroke and had a major heart operation and as a consequence had mobility and communication issues. He required care to dress, shower and undress each evening. He also required assistance to prepare food and ensure he drank
fluids. At times he could be difficult to manage and required understanding and patience. His close family lived an hour travelling distance away and it was essential that a care provider was found who could cope with the possibility of a call at short notice and be there for him if needed urgently.
Right at Home assessed his needs and allocated care staff that understood my father's health issues and ensured his care was sensitive and delivered in a way that was supportive to him and this was a great relief to his family.
I found all the staff to be extremely helpful and they were always willing to change visiting times, purchase food or drink if stocks were low and administer medication if necessary and at times call for the emergency services if my father was unwell or in need of medical assistance.
I cannot thank them enough for the professional service we received whilst my father was at home and would have no hesitation in recommending the company to others. In conclusion, no issue was to big and no problem too small for them to deal with and put the family's mind at rest.
My father has now moved to full time nursing care and is near his family and although he now has residential care he is extremely grateful and complimentary regarding all the staff from Right at Home that he encountered whilst living at home. Thank You.

Andrew Davis

Right from the launch of Right at Home Bournemouth and Poole in September 2012, Andrew was driven by a determination to develop a service that would support clients as he would want to be supported himself in similar circumstances. The Right at Home team takes the time and trouble to select a close-knit team, recruiting only those people whose dedication to delivering compassionate and reliable care matches their own.


Andrew is acutely aware that families need the highest levels of reassurance that their loved one’s quality of life is not only being maintained but actually being improved. Work schedules are arranged so that Right at Home carers have time for their clients. As Andrew says, “The high-quality service that characterises Right at Home will enhance our clients’ day-to-day living and give peace of mind to their dependants because our carers are punctual, consistent and do not rush the service they provide.” Andrew opened his business after seventeen years of commissioned military service. The qualities of selfless commitment, integrity and respect for others that the British Army develops in its leaders are precisely the qualities needed for his role in this new venture. Andrew lives in Bournemouth and enjoys a happy family life with his wife, young daughter, two cats and a Maltipoo called Charlie. Previously, he immersed himself in the local community by taking on voluntary work both with the Royal Voluntary Society (formerly the WRVS but now including men) delivering library books to the housebound and with the Friends of Christchurch Hospital helping people find their way around the hospital whilst hoping not to get lost himself! Although he no longer undertakes these roles, he remains active with the Alzheimer’s Society and the Dementia Action Alliance. Andrew finds his voluntary work invaluable in keeping him in touch with what older people and those who have to depend on others for help really want and need.


During the pandemic, Andrew took on the role of chair of the Dorset Home Care Providers Association and in this role was able to advise the local authority and local NHS on measures to support both carers and those receiving care across the county.
