Following a recommendation from a previous user of carers from Blue Ribbon Care, we started using Blue Ribbon in Sunderland over 3 years ago to provide care for my mother who was in her early 90s. The care which they provided from that time and up to her death in January this year was excellent and
we would certainly have no hesitation in recommending the company to others needing care for an elderly relative. All of the carers and the office staff were helpful, flexible and compassionate in the way they provided care for my mother, including end of life care which was extremely supportive to us in her final days.

Finding quality personal care for an elderly and vulnerable loved one is often very challenging. It can become necessary at short notice after a sudden deterioration in health or an accident. Because of concern for our elderly mother, who showed early signs of slowing down, we did some research into
companies that provided care services in the area so that in the event she needed support we were ready. Blue Ribbon Community Care seemed to meet our requirements with excellent customer reviews and so they were put at the top of our list. About twelve months later that eventuality arrived and we contacted Blue Ribbon. From the first point of contact they were so easy to deal with, very accommodating, friendly and reassuring. Blue Ribbon’s communication, time-keeping, flexibility, friendly and caring staff allowed our mother’s final months to be in her home as she wanted. A great caring team and we would recommend them without hesitation.

My mother and I first met the Blue Ribbon team in April 2019. Her previous care team withdrew their services at very short notice. This was upsetting and left us with a void. Blue Ribbon continued her care from the very next day. So for a year mum received daily morning care, bathing, dressing and breakfast.
In March 2020 sadly my mum received a diagnosis of terminal cancer, from that point Blue Ribbon looked after her four times a day, always respectful, cheerful and stimulating. The staff helped mum to have 5 weeks of excellent life quality. When she became very ill it was wonderful to see the end of life care delivered with cheerfulness, support and total respect.
Thank you.

I cannot recommend Blue Ribbon highly enough, the care they have given my mum has been fantastic. My mum's care needs have changed over the short time she has been with them due to frequent hospital admissions, and they have always treated her with the greatest of respect and dignity. Mum looked forward
to their visits twice a day as they not only attended to her needs but took the time to chat with her and get to know her and what is important to her. Unfortunately, due to deteriorating health and frequent hospital admissions during the lockdown, the decision was made by the medical profession that Mum is no longer safe to be in her own home. I would like to say a big "thank you" to the manager and all his team for their support over a very difficult time for both my mum and myself.

Our experience of Blue Ribbon Community Care has been nothing short of wonderful. My uncle lived on his own and we, his nearest relatives live a 2-hour drive away. Blue Ribbon staff have supported him during a sad decline through Alzheimer's disease. They gradually gained his trust and through care
and perseverance were increasingly able to help him with many daily personal care tasks as well as keeping him entertained with chat and shared interests. Nothing seemed too much bother for them and they moved through shopping, preparing meals, collecting and administering medication to laundry and personal hygiene. When he started to have falls, staff were there to care for him, alert others and keep us, his relatives informed. The organisation of visits with appropriate carers and timed to coincide with hospital discharges has also been first class. Truly great staff with a truly amazing management team. We are very grateful to everyone for all the care taken to help our uncle and us.

I would like to thank the Manager and his staff for the brilliant service provided to implement the urgent care of our aunt. She arranged an initial home visit to discuss the care requirements, together with a visit to introduce two of the carers prior to the start of the care, a small gesture making
a big difference. The quality of care provided was amazing and on occasions, the carers stayed longer than their allocated time, if they thought there was a concern about my aunts wellbeing. I was informed immediately of any concerns and their manual records were precise and detailed. The quality of care, together with their colleagues in admin, alleviated the stress for the family, knowing my aunt was receiving regular support and visits from such lovely caring people.

We were having a difficult time caring for my father, and I contacted Blue Ribbon. They came out to see us straight away and were very sympathetic to our situation. From the moment I met the manager and staff, I knew my father was in safe hands. The staff were very knowledgable in their jobs and they
treat my father with the utmost dignity. Dad wasn’t seen as just another client, the staff interacted with him getting to know about him and his life. I couldn’t have asked for a better company to look after my father, and I would recommend them to anyone who is struggling to cope, they definitely took a lot of the stress out of my life. Thank you all.

The Blue Ribbon care company have been excellent to deal with from the beginning. They have been helpful and accommodating to all Mum's needs. The girls who come in to care for Mum are fantastic. They are caring and helpful and treat Mum with respect and dignity. I cannot fault any of them. They have
eased a difficult situation and made Mum feel cared for and safe. I would certainly recommend them to anyone who asks.

The care provided for my mother and father has been great, all the girls are friendly and approachable. Nothing is too much bother. My mam has Alzheimers and feels very safe with them popping in even just chatting.

I have been receiving care since November 2017 and have used Blue Ribbon since summer 2018, I was having problems with my previous company. Blue Ribbon are professional, punctual and the admin is all very easy for me. The staff are all lovely and help me with basic household tasks as well as chatting
and checking on me. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing home care. I can always rely on them and feel safe with them being in my home. Being a younger (40) care user it can be difficult for me to ask people to do things for me but all of the staff are respectful and make me feel comfortable.

We first employed Blue Ribbon Community Care in January 2018 to provide assistance to our widowed 92 year old father who wished to remain in his own home. Following and informal discussion between the company dad and family members a care plan was drawn up, which included assistance with basic tasks
such as showering, dressing/undressing, administering medications and meals. From the outset, we have all be extremely happy with the service provided, particularly dad.
The care plan has been reviewed regularly throughout the past year to ensure that dad's needs were being met and we feel confident that any future concerns we may have will be addressed immediately.
Blue Ribbons members of staff are all dedicated, reliable, professional and very friendly individuals.
They not only provide dad with the care that he needs but do so in a manner which maintains his dignity at all times and gives us that all important peace of mind. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

This agency came highly recommended. A daily evening carer call was requested to support mam. Following an assessment, the carer visits were established promptly and both coordinators and direct care staff, worked very closely together to offer the best of care and as a result, the care delivered was
tailored to mams needs. A very caring, patient, professional approach - many thanks.

Blue Ribbon cared for my mother for over a year and they have always been very caring, professional and helpful. They take great care to ensure the care plan is suitable for their clients and I was always included in any decisions regarding care. Unfortunately my mother’s health declined and was no
longer able to remain in her own home, The manager and his team supported my mother and myself through the process of her moving into 24 hour care.

My mother only had the services of Blue Ribbon for a few weeks as she has now needed to go to a nursing home to meet her current needs. However, for the short term we, as a family, could not fault the care that was provided for her. In my mother’s own words “ I like them coming into my home and I don’t
feel uncomfortable". From the start, her care plan was detailed to the finest detail by the registered manager, it met her needs and we were happy in the knowledge that everything was in place. I would highly recommend Blue Ribbon to anyone wanting tailored, specific care at home.

Blue Ribbon (Tyne & Wear) have cared for my mam for several years now. She has dementia and Alzheimer's and currently has four visits a day. Nothing is too much trouble for them - her small team of carers look after her like one of their own family. They are a great support to her and also to me - I
live in London and it is wonderful knowing she is in good hands when I’m not there. I don't know how we would cope without them and can’t recommend them highly enough.

Hello, I’m, Leanne and I’m the Registered Manager of Blue Ribbon Community Care (Tyne & Wear). This means that it is my job to ensure that you receive outstanding care and support from us. We do this by spending time with you beforehand to discuss all your needs and wants and then devising a plan with you that will meet those needs. I’ve worked in social care my entire working life and I came to Blue Ribbon because I knew that their only objective was to deliver high-quality care all of the time. This has been shown in our many awards from Homecare.co.uk as well as our “Outstanding” rating from the CQC. I can’t imagine ever working anywhere else!

Hello, I’m Devon and I’m the Client Care Manager. This means that I make sure that all the care workers know all about the needs of those people they support and that they are in the right place at the right time. This means that if you ever call Blue Ribbon to talk about care and support for a loved one, it’s probably going to be me who will come out to see you. I started at Blue Ribbon as a Care Worker and then got promoted to Team Leader and now Client Care Manager. I know each and every person who works here at Blue Ribbon (we’re not a big company, but we are very friendly and personal) and I know I would happily have anybody here look after me or any of my loved ones.
