Home Instead provides a remarkable service for my father. The Care Professionals and office-based staff are genuinely caring and responsive to his needs and wishes. The excellent care has enabled him to stay at home, where he wants to be. The service is efficient and works like a well-oiled machine,
but with a human touch. He enjoys seeing his carers, knows when they will come and who to expect. It may be a cliche, but Home Instead staff really do go the extra mile. They spot any subtle changes and raise concerns appropriately when necessary. Management staff contact us in an appropriate and timely manner and are a pleasure to work with. This provides peace of mind as we live over 200 miles away.

It is such a tribute to the team to read this review. I have read several times to make sure I understand the nuances and you do set out the caring effective service we aspire to provide. I know when you are a distance away it is fundamental to know your Dad is safe and cared for and that you can rely on our service. It all comes down to trust. We will pass on your kind words to all the team involved and I know they love supporting your Dad. We will continue to go the extra mile that is so important and not just a cliche. Thank you.

Home Instead continue to provide the highest standard of care possible.
They are proactive and flexible. Most importantly, they listen and adapt according to Dad's wishes, which is so important for him. He is in control of things but has advice and help where required.
It is reassuring for everyone
to know Dad has support of this quality to allow him to remain safely and comfortably at home. Care and support staff are fantastic and genuinely caring.
I thoroughly recommend them.

Thank you so much for such an amazing review. We are always thrilled to hear feedback and we can then pass to the care professionals who do all the hard work and support your dad and along the way love working with him. They say "it is their pleasure to know him". It is great to hear such a glowing testament.

Home Instead provided a caring, reliable and proactive service. The person receiving their care was at the forefront of everything they did to ensure a safe and comfortable environment within the house. When circumstances dictated they went above and beyond agreed service levels even including hospital
visits. The App meant that from a distance I was aware of all the circumstances giving me peace of mind that everything necessary was being done.

Reply from Mark Hunt, Director at Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset)

Thanks so much for your appreciative review. Supporting your family over a long period of time, there are always likely to be glitches so it is a real testament that after all this time you have felt the service went above and beyond and gave you the peace of mind, that is vital when you live a distance away from your relative. Thanks so much for such a brilliant review.

I cannot recommend Home instead highly enough, they have been responsive, proactive and are genuinely caring. Using their services has given me complete peace of mind.
They keep me updated regularly and are easy to contact.

Reply from Mark Hunt, Director at Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset)

Everyone who needs care is a worry for their family, friends and legal guardians. To be able to give peace of mind knowing that you trust us to support and keep your parents safe is a huge responsibility, but is always what we aim for. It is so lovely to be able to achieve that peace of mind in working together to know what is needed and to be able to put into practice the care. So you don't need to worry but are able to be the daughter, son or friend instead of carer. Thank you for such a beautifully expressed sentiment.

Home Instead Taunton looked after Mum for over 4 years after Dad passed away. Mum has dementia and with her amazing team of caregivers, she was able to spend those years safely still at home prior to moving to her care home. The team provided professional, expert and knowledgeable care at every point
and every day for Mum. We knew she was in safe and caring hands. Amongst other things, Mum loved her trips to the dementia-friendly activity sessions on Fridays - going with one of the team to enjoy music and dance.
Home Instead were able to tailor the visits for Mum as her needs increased over the years and this allowed us to keep Mum in her own home where she was happy and all was familiar.
I would absolutely recommend Home Instead if anyone is looking for care for themselves or a loved one. High standards from caring, compassionate caregivers and support from the office team meant that Mum was so well looked after and we as a family felt the support extended to us always. Thank you everyone!

Reply from Mark Hunt, Director at Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset)

Thanks so much for the amazing review. I am so pleased to hear how the care and support your mum had was appreciated and received. From the matching of care professionals to ensure they can build a relationship, all your family feeling she was safe, and the enrichment activities such as attending the dementia-friendly activity sessions are what we try and focus on for all our clients. It means we know your mum and can help her stay at home for as long as possible enjoying her life so thank you for saying it worked.

We had Home Instead come to help care for my dad before he died a few years ago so they were a natural choice for when my mum needed help with personal care after she broke her arm last year. She loves the ladies who come and help her. They have been great with making sure she does her exercises and
takes her medication, and good company for her first thing in the morning, even though she is more independent now.

Reply from Mark Hunt, Director at Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset)

So great to hear your mum is becoming more independent during our time of our support. Independence for our clients is always the holy grail and ultimately for them to walk away from us in life is the definition of success so it is wonderful to hear your mum is getting stronger, whether that be through her exercises or the quality of the interactions with the care professionals. So pleased to hear your mum is loving the team and that things are improving. We love when clients come back to us as it feels like a testament to our care but also that it is in our work family where we can reconnect with people's lives and know what they have been through previously i.e. understand each other. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a wonderfully positive review.

Home Instead in Taunton have been quite simply outstanding in their support of my parents over the last 7 years. Initially providing support for my mother who was living with dementia, Home Instead knew exactly how to make life easier for my father and more rewarding for my mother. This allowed the
family to create many treasured memories.
Over the last 3 years, my father has been able to live independently at home (despite increasing mobility issues) much longer than I had thought possible. There is no doubt that my father was able to rely totally on Home Instead and he would often tell me that he could not have lived at home without their incredible care and compassion. I would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead to anyone who is looking for care at home in the Taunton area.

Reply from Mark Hunt, Director at Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset)

Thanks so much for your review. It has been our please to be involved with supporting your mum and dad over these last 7 years. They are an inspiration. The length of time has meant the team have developed a wonderful relationship with your parents and knows how to make a difference to their lives given who they are. Independence is always our goal for all our clients and to enable that to be maximised wherever possible given the passage of time. That he could live at home for so much longer than you all expected is all we can hope for and is always to be treasured. Thank you for such a thoughtful and incredible review.

In the middle of 2023, my sisters and I were looking to raise the standard of care for my 93-year-old father. We wanted an organization that shared our values and commitment to enable him to continue living in the family home for as long as possible. He has lived on his own for over 20 years and has
built an established relationship with the community and didn't want to upset the balance of caring friends, willing helpers, and committed care providers.
We reviewed many organizations, and settled on Home Instead, based in Taunton. They were interested in my Father, his life, and his experiences and came across as professional and well-run, communicative, and prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that everything my father needed and wanted was provided for.
They have consistently delivered everything we could have asked them for, and have no hesitation in recommending the senior care professional and his team to any prospective family looking to do the same.

Reply from Mark Hunt, Director at Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset)

It is wonderful to hear that we were able to support your Father to stay in his home and to provide care and support that matched, or even exceeded expectations. I loved hearing that you chose us because of our values resonated with yours and that you noticed how much we were interested in your Father and his life. These are huge tributes to all the individual care professionals and team involved in the office where we always strive to make a difference and thank you for feeding back to us and bringing all the care to life. I will look forward to telling the team. Thank you for such amazing feedback.

My Aunt has used the services of Home Instead for many years, gradually needing increases in levels of support and frequency of daily visits, as a result of which she has been able to continue living independently in her own home, as she preferred, into her mid-nineties, up to point where residential
care has now become a necessary alternative. The various members of the Home Instead team have not only provided the care she required but also companionship and friendship in their contact with her. The administration staff have also been most helpful in dealings with the family. The family lives some distance away, and knowing that our Aunt was being well cared for has been reassuring.

Reply from Mark Hunt, Director at Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset)

Thanks so much for taking the time to provide us with such a thoughtful review taking in all the time that we provided care how your Aunt's needs changed, and how we worked together to keep her safe and happy. The relationships built through matching our Care professionals with our clients are what we think are so important in personal service. I appreciate you also pointing out the support from the office in meeting changing requirements. We wish your aunt every happiness in her new home and we will miss her. Thank you for your warm words and generosity in your thoughts.

I recently had the pleasure of working with the Manager and his team at Home Instead to provide care for my client. From the moment I reached out to them, I was impressed by their efficiency, friendliness, and professionalism. One of my main concerns was finding a care service that could provide a small
team of carers who would not only be skilled in their work but also make my client feel comfortable and at ease. Home Instead exceeded my expectations in this regard. Within just a few days, the Manager and his team were able to build a strong rapport with my client. They were incredibly friendly and compassionate, which helped create a positive and nurturing environment. My client felt safe and supported, which was a huge relief for the family. I want to extend a big thank you to the Manager and his lovely team at Home Instead. Their dedication to providing excellent care and creating a warm and friendly atmosphere truly made a difference in my client's life. I highly recommend their services.

Reply from Mark Hunt, Director at Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset)

It is wonderful to hear your feedback on both the manager and the team as a whole. As a service, we always try to exceed expectations but it so lovely to hear that was how it felt. That palpable sense of breathing out with relief felt by you, the family and your client is how we aspire to support people and so glad to hear it made such a difference. I will share your testimonial with the team and appreciate your taking the time to let us know how it was on the receiving end.

The support and care my father received was invaluable.

Thank you

Our relative has been having support from Home Instead for at least the past 18 months.
During this time, they have shown outstanding care in all areas.
Our relative is delighted with the support she receives from the carers, which is now on a daily basis.
The office staff are helpful and practical
and excellent at knowing and understanding the needs of the client.
We have popped into the office without notice a few times. The staff are always welcoming and accommodating. They always make time to talk to us and agree the way forward. We get emails and phone calls, too. Everything is managed in a positive way.
We feel that our relative is in the safest hands possible.
We would like to thank Home Instead for their outstanding support.

Reply from Mark Hunt, Director at Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset)

Thanks so much for your amazing review and so pleased to hear that the support is there when, and where you need it. We will feed back to the care professionals so they know how you feel about their care and our service. We really appreciate when clients and their families drop in to see us in the office as we always want to be part of the community in all that means i.e. accessible, friendly and responsive and going the extra mile. It is so kind of you to take the time to write such a considered review. Thank you.

We are in our mid 80's and need cleaning help in the home. We are very pleased with our care provider and Home Instead keep in touch with us to see that our needs are being met at present and what help we may need in the future.

I realise that the value for money is the only area that you would like us to improve and we recognise that providing the best service does in this case cost slightly more but it does allow us to attract the best care professionals and recognise their professionalism with ongoing training and constant improvement. We will continue to try and control our costs. Thank you.

My mum has been having support from Home Instead for a few years now. It’s important to Mum to be at home, all of her carers are excellent friendly people I can’t rate them highly enough. Nothing is too much trouble and her staff team remain stable with very little change unless of course someone leaves.
All new staff are introduced to Mum prior to their visit, Mum finds this a bit strange but understands that they need to meet her before they start working with her. Staff visit every day at the same time and come as the rota states with very few staff changes unless we are notified before. We have had experience with other providers but they do not match what we receive from Home Instead.

Reply from Mark Hunt, Director at Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset)

We are only as good as our care professionals, and as you kindly say they are excellent. We do recruit new carers on the basis of who they are, and what values they have, so they do excel at supporting our clients. We don't always get it right, but it is lovely to hear, as on this occasion, that it has worked so well. We never want any client to meet someone without being introduced and given the background to what is needed when they meet a new client. Hence we insist on the introductions to enable the richness of the relationship to be built. We should perhaps explain why we do this better so it doesn't appear strange as it is quite deliberate. Thank you again for taking the time to complete the review and we will let the team know your experience of using our service and how it feels.

Home Instead supported my mother for over 12 months and was excellent.
The care professionals go above and beyond in trying to help, even in challenging circumstances. They adapted visits to suit my mother so if she wanted to chat they made time for this but if she didn’t, they focussed on other tasks
and communicated anything unfinished for the next visit.
The app for checking on how visits have gone has been so useful, particularly as I am not local to my mother, unlike my siblings.
I also like how any new staff were always introduced first to a familiar care professional.
The office staff always email separately to raise any identified concerns which is helpful (or call if more urgent). They have even collected medication for us or called the GP for advice if family were unavailable.
Thank you to all at Home Instead- I would highly recommend them.

Reply from Mark Hunt, Director at Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset)

Thanks so much for your lovely comments and I will feedback to the team as they make a difference on a daily basis. I know the care professionals always had a soft spot for your mother. Thank you for writing such a touching review.

My sister was diagnosed with dementia in May 2021. At that time she said she wanted to stay in her own home for as long as she could. She also has type 2 diabetes and is not very mobile. There was also very few friends and family who could help and care for her.
As my sister would need more help as
time went by I contacted Home Instead. I had had excellent personal recommendations for this company and was impressed by their reviews. They have been helping me now with my sister since September 2022. We started with 2 hours a week which has now increased to 3 hours.
The Home Instead carers have been excellent with my sister, she can be a little difficult at times due to her dementia and her character. The carers are punctual, there is good communication between us and they offer my sister much kindness, companionship and help. Communication with the Home Instead office is also very good. I highly recommend them.

Thank you so much for your heartfelt review and so pleased that we have been able to help and support so well. It is so important and a joy that your sister has been able to stay at home as she wished and in the way you have enabled it to happen. We are grateful that our team have provided a high level of service whilst not losing the human element of the compassion and care that is why we work in care and what you have noticed. My mum has received visits from Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset) care professionals for over a year now.
