From our first meeting with the Witney team, we felt complete confidence in Bluebird. They were professional, friendly and so caring towards dad and us all right from the start. All of the carers who helped dad in his last few weeks were simply amazing. With Bluebird Care, we were able to become a family
again because we knew that they would look after so many of dads needs. Absolute Stars.

Bluebird carers looked after my mum (and dad before he died last year) for several years. They treated my mum with respect and care supporting her through a difficult year. They made sure her house remained a home.

From the first point of contact, Bluebird Care Oxford, South & West Oxfordshire have been efficient with prompt replies to emails, setting up the assessment and care package as quick as they possibly could to allow visits to start. The carers quickly established Mum's bedtime routine, arrived on time
and were always polite and friendly. Chatting not just to Mum whom they were caring for but also to Dad. Mum liked all the carers and the fact that it was a small team was reassuring for her. I would not hesitate to recommend Bluebird Care Oxford, South & West Oxfordshire. Thank you for all you have done for Mum.

Reply from Michelle Field, Lead care supervisor at Bluebird Care Oxford, South & West Oxfordshire

When we needed carers for my terminally ill mother-in-law, from the first point of contact everything was dealt with efficiently and smoothly. They have all shown kindness, compassion and understanding. Nothing is too much trouble. They have been our rock when we have had nowhere else to turn to for
help and advice. I would not hesitate in recommending them. They are an amazing group of lovely people doing a difficult job and I could never praise them highly enough. My mother-in-law loves them all, they make her smile and she has a joke with them. She looks forward to their visits. They have definitely made her remaining time a whole lot more bearable.

Reply from Jennifer Newton, Lead care supervisor at Bluebird Care Oxford, South & West Oxfordshire

We have all enjoyed caring for your Mother-in-law, she was a delight to look after and such a bubbly lady, she will be missed by the team but not forgotten. Thank you for the review with such kind words about the ladies from Bluebird Care. They have enjoyed looking and helping your family at this sad time. May she rest in Peace.

I cannot commend highly enough the services Bluebird have provided for us. Bluebird have provided top-quality care which has supported me and guided me throughout my husband's decline. Even better than that our carer has commanded his respect and friendship and trust - and mine. Nothing is too much
trouble, she works so hard and is so patient and kind and understanding I do not know what we would do without her. Her sense of humour lightens our day and believe it or not we actually have a laugh. She is a shoulder for me to weep on or someone I can moan at just to 'let the feelings out.' My husband looks forward to her coming and goes out of his way to do things he thinks she would like or approve of. He does this out of his own desire to please and even maybe to impress her with his remaining skills. It gives him a spark. Bluebirds are first-rate. I cannot commend them highly enough.

Reply from Jennifer Newton, Lead care supervisor at Bluebird Care Oxford, South & West Oxfordshire

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. These are very encouraging words for the team, it is very thoughtful of you to appreciate the carers efforts and to recognize the dedicated work within your family that the carers are still doing to support you and your Husband, Bluebird Cares aim is to provide the highest quality of care and I’m so happy to read this is what you are receiving.

Our experience has been first-rate right from the first phone call. I was contacted immediately as to our requirements and wheels were out in motion.
The care we have had from nearly all the carers, and supervisor, has been excellent. They care about the whole family, not just the person who they are
looking after. They listen to your requests and go over and above in supporting the person - taking into account their needs and their interests. Two main carers supported my mum nine hours a day, 5 days a week - chatting with her, preparing meals, encouraging daily exercise, undertaking craft and other activities to stimulate her and encouraged her to talk about her life and interests. She absolutely loved them both. They built a special relationship with her. We can totally recommend them. We are just sad it was only 5 months but they were there in my mum's last days after we brought her home from hospital - they went above and beyond to make her comfortable and feel cared for.

Bluebird care transformed our lives, everyone was so kind and friendly, whilst being efficient and caring in everything they did. It was like a friend coming in and gently taking the worry off your shoulders. There was nothing they weren't prepared to help with. You can arrange the type of care package
that suits your needs and if your needs change after a time they are able to adapt as needed. I would have no hesitation of recommending them to anyone, I wish I had known about them years ago. If you are feeling like things are getting too much for you, call them.

When looking at home care Bluebird Care was on the top of the list as I had heard so many positive things about them and felt that they would be the perfect company to offer the care that was needed for my friend.
From the initial point of contact Bluebird Care has been exceptional, they are efficient
and communicate with clarity in all matters. The assessment and the care package was established promptly. Supportive from the onset and management skills, communication and professional help has been invaluable.
The carers are empathetic, friendly and always arrive with a smile. They are varied which makes it interesting as they bring different energies and chatter throughout the day which is important when you are unable to go out with ease. They are all wonderful in their own unique way but some are real assets to the company.
The fact that Bluebird Care also dedicate time into fundraising for charity shows their thoughtful approach to others, wonderful.

My aunt has had Bluebird domiciliary care twice a day for over a year and we have been very pleased with the service. In September, my aunt had a fall, fortunately not too serious, however, she was left with significantly reduced mobility and we realised that she would need more care for a while. I
helped my aunt research alternatives. Our first thought was Bluebird live-in care, but we looked at other services to compare them. In the end, we decided that the advantages of staying with Bluebird were clear: We knew how carefully Bluebird chooses and trains their staff, the OpenPass electronic system makes it easy to follow the carers' reports and the transition to live-in care seemed easy. Also, as my aunt recovers, we expect a smooth transition back to domiciliary care. It's now three weeks since the live-in carer arrived and after an easy transition, things are going very well. The carer was matched well to my aunt, who enjoys the company and the family knows she is in good hands.

Reply from Robert Mezo, Director at Bluebird Care Oxford, South & West Oxfordshire

Thank you for the feedback. It makes such a difference to everyone in the team to hear their hard work is well received because our customers are at the heart of everything we do. We’re so pleased your aunt transitioned easily from hourly to live-in care and of course, we look forward to welcoming her back to a normal routine as soon as she is able. I’m also pleased to hear you’ve found value in OpenPASS as many of our customer’s family members who are unable to see them on a regular basis can take comfort in seeing our daily updates.

After my father's death in January 2018, my mother (who was then 91) struggled at home due to progressive Alzheimer's and deteriorating mobility. Bluebird Care initially provided a daily tea-time visit which was extremely helpful and reassuring as I lived 90 miles away. When Mum's condition deteriorated
we arranged a full-time live-in carer in November 2018 from Bluebird Care. This arrangement continued until Mum died peacefully at home in August 2020. Over this time there were only two live-in carers, both of whom were superb. They were compassionate, cheerful, sensible and excellent at maintaining Mum's dignity. They were ably supported by the excellent Bluebird Live-in Care Manager, and between them often made sensible suggestions about how Mum's quality of life could be improved e.g.by purchasing simple items that would aid her. Overall, my mother had excellent care throughout.

Thank you Martin for this lovely review, it is very much appreciated. It's lovely to hear from a family that Bluebird was able to be a big support in your mother's final years. I know I speak on behalf of both carers that lived with her when I say it was a privilege and a pleasure to have known her and to have been able to care for her as she wished, in her own home until the end. She will be greatly missed by the team. We wish you and your family all the best for the future.

Initially Mum just needed a weekly visit, which became four visits a week, which became twice daily visits. Some help with shopping, companionship, light household duties - but most importantly, a friendly and sympathetic visit each and every time, from Bluebird staff that genuinely always had her best
interests at heart. Loved the app - to follow the visits virtually, and to offer reassurance that Mum was being fully supported. It's now time for more permanent full-time care and I would like to thank the Bluebird team for always being so flexible and accommodating, throughout our two-year connection.

We needed to provide daily domiciliary care (that quickly morphed into live-in care) for our father, who has various health challenges and our mother, who had just had a stroke. From the very first call, we were reassured that Bluebird was the right partner to provide care to our parents. We spoke directly
to a Bluebird person who listened to our requirements and presented a well-considered care plan. To start with, Bluebird provided regular domiciliary visits to Dad that got him up and dressed in the morning, ensured he was fed, had taken his meds and even took him out in his wheelchair. The service then needed to become a live-in carer and a wonderful carer was sourced for us. Dad absolutely loved the carer and they and we got on really well. Sadly mum passed away, but we kept the live-in carer just for Dad. We can't speak highly enough about Bluebird or the live-in carer provided for Mum and Dad. Highly recommended.

When caring for my mother, with highly complex needs, became too much for me single-handed, it was such a relief to hand over her morning routine to the lovely carers from the Bluebird Witney team. They would arrive on time each morning, with friendly, cheerful conversation and encouragement, and complete
the required tasks efficiently and respectfully.
However disorientated Mum was, due to dementia, or weak and stiff due to Parkinson's, they made the start to her day, and mine, better. The administration was thorough and professional, and I would have no hesitation at all in recommending their services.

I have been impressed and touched in equal measure by the kindness and professionalism shown to my mother by the Bluebird team. She was a very reluctant client and had the team not been so good-humoured, so sensitive to her needs and so 'human' in their response to her, she would never have agreed to
accept care. As it was, 'Bluebird' became a source of great comfort for her and peace of mind for me. I cannot thank each and every one of them enough.

Tim’s wealth of experience in business management informs his oversight of Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham. Having helmed a multi-channel retail business before opening his first Bluebird Care office, Tim says, “I don’t think many people dream of running a home care company… I certainly didn’t! This lived experience pushed me to open my first Bluebird Care office and set the high standards we’ve maintained for over a decade.”

Insisting his colleagues are trained beyond industry standard, each Care Assistant is encouraged to develop specialisms ranging from dementia and post-op rehabilitation to Parkinson’s, MND, complex care, challenging behaviour, palliative care and nutrition and hydration. “Our aim is to match each customer to their ideal Care Assistants by personality and expertise. Prior to starting a career in care, I worked in retail. The day-to-day was monotonous and I wanted to do something more worthwhile. During this time my Grandad was also diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and went into a residential setting. I observed a struggling service and poor practices and without any experience knew I could do better.

My journey with Bluebird Care started in 2014 as a part-time care assistant. Through the years I have progressed through the roles to my current position as Registered Manager. The experience, knowledge and training I have received through the years, including my level 5 qualification has without a doubt supported me in getting to where I am today.

I’m so excited and immensely proud to lead a service that is committed to providing the best home care in Oxfordshire. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and alongside an exceptional management team, we nurture and support our Bluebirds to deliver the best service possible.

I joined Bluebird Care back in April 2014 as a care assistant, mainly due to having a small child and being able to have flexible working hours. I quickly found supporting members of my local community and surrounding villages really rewarding and I realised that this was the industry that I wanted to build a career in. I went from Care Assistant to Support Supervisor, Supervisor to Live-in Care Manager, to where I am today, predominantly overseeing the safe running of the South, West and central Oxfordshire territory.

As well as having transferrable skills from my earlier roles, I also hold an NVQ level 5 in Care Management and look forward to developing my knowledge further in other areas of the business. I have always felt Bluebird is the perfect fit for me due to the shared ethos of person-centred care, promoting independence and going the extra mile to make a difference in someone's life whilst remaining in their own home. I feel extremely privileged to help lead a team, that provides great quality care to Oxfordshire's vulnerable adults.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my two children, walking and swimming.
