GoodOaks Homecare is a homecare provider that offers high-quality visiting and live-in care to individuals in their own homes. Their aim being to keep their clients living independently and comfortably at home for as long as possible.

The business is split across two areas of homecare, visiting and live-in care. Visiting care professionals can help with anything from a 30 minute daily visit to help with meal prep, to supporting individuals with complex conditions and needs.

Live-in care is designed around the client and means the care professional will stay with them in their own home. They will help to run their household, provide personal care, companionship and much more.

Each care plan is carefully tailored to the individual, encompassing their needs, likes and preferences. Care plans are regularly reviewed, adapted and monitored to evolve with their clients' needs.

GoodOaks have always understood that the only way to provide quality care to clients is to work with quality care professionals and to support them to do the best job they can.

Their care professionals are carefully selected and trained to give the highest level of care and support. This means that with GoodOaks, the care professional walking through the client's front door is properly trained, supported and valued. They can adapt to routines and provide the bespoke care that has been shaped together with their client and families.

I just wanted to say how very impressed we have been with the team at Good Oaks Homecare in Poole. The care and support they have given our mum over the last two years or so has been brilliant.
Every member who has attended to Mum have all been pleasant and professional.
In particular, I would like
to thank the staff from the office, the visiting carer who attended to Mum in the early stages and the visiting carer towards the end.
I would not hesitate in recommending Good Oaks to anyone who may need this type of care for one of their loved ones.

My parents have received amazing care from Good Oaks. Their carers were hardworking, and nothing was too much trouble. They treated my parents with the utmost respect and dignity when looking after their personal needs. They were like good friends, always going the extra mile to help them to live a
happy life in their own home. The communication with the family was very good too. We will miss them now my mum and dad are moving into long-term care!

The last two years have been very difficult for my mum and I, as she has had to adjust to the fact that she now needs to use care services. We still face challenges, but I would like to say that several of the Good Oaks carers have become like members of family - they really brighten my mum's day. One
staff member has to have special thanks, and I don't really know where to start when talking about her - she's amazing! She cares for my mum like she is family, and always goes over and above for her. This means a great deal both to myself and my mum, and I continue to be awestruck by her kindness. The same is true of another staff member, who my mum always reports goes above and beyond. Having to use care services is something that nobody really wants to have to do, but it is certainly made a lot easier, and nicer, when you have genuine, kind, caring people looking after your relatives. I'm very grateful to these two ladies in particular for their warmth, and for making my mum feel so comfortable and at ease.

I have been very happy with the care provided by Good Oaks. My mother has enjoyed seeing her carers each day and they have been exceptionally kind and efficient. They always seemed to bring a smile to her face, even on the days that she didn't feel much like smiling at the start of a visit. If we had
not had the care provided by Good Oaks, my mother could not have continued living independently for so long and it is only because she has deteriorated to the extent that it is no longer safe for her to live in the community, that we have to bring this to an end. The administration and support from the office have also been excellent. If there is a problem, the response has always been 'let's see what we can do'. It has been a huge relief for me living over 200 miles away to know that she has had a cheerful face to see every day.

Reply from Ben Ashton, Director at GoodOaks Homecare - Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch

Thank you so much for your review. We very much enjoyed visiting your mother and I am glad that she found our visits helpful and enjoyable, and that we were able to provide you with some peace of mind too. I will pass on your feedback to the care team as well as the office team.

My mother is one hundred years and six months old. She has always stated that she did not want to go into a home or have ‘strangers’ in her house. However, as she passed one hundred it was obvious, even to her, that she could not continue to live alone.
Good Oaks Home Care has provided two carers
so far (three weeks and two weeks). My mother has warmed to both ladies, their professional and caring manner is reassuring to her.
Physically she is stronger. After two years of near solitude (Covid conditions), she is now thriving with the company and regular hot meals.
It appears that Good Oaks Home Care endeavours to provide continuity of carers, which I believe is a big benefit to older people - less confusing and more comforting.
I have been very impressed with all the staff both admin and carers. It has certainly made my life easier knowing that Mum is safe and secure in her own home. Thank you, Good Oaks Home Care.

Excellent service. The management and administrative staff do a really good job of trying to match the right carers with my parents. We have, for a considerable period of time now, settled into the same day carer for three weeks on, one week off, and two or three-night ‘wake’ carers who cover the night
sessions. It is obvious that the people who roster are trying to maintain the same people for continuity but always with an eye to making sure that they are a good match for my parents. The carers are magnificent and manage to blend professionalism with the kindness that is essential in these circumstances. They are experienced, capable, sensitive, kind and able to both understand and adapt to my parents. When I walk in and find my parents sitting on the sofa, happy, clean, well-fed, engaged in conversation and, above all, safe I then reflect on what a stunning service is being provided. The carers come across as people with a vocation to answer such a critical need in society.

Thank you so much for your very kind words, which we will pass on to the rest of the team. It is a real pleasure to help to support your parents at home; thank you also for everything you do for them; it is much appreciated.

I would like to thank Good Oaks for their exemplary help with my father, they were able to give extra help at a phone calls notice and nothing was too much for them. Their professional help in the administration of medicines and logging on to my portal to see what the visit was like. Nothing was a problem
from making his specific breakfast and how he liked his tea. He was very happy with his team of carers. I would definitely recommend to friends who want extra help for their loved ones.

My Aunt suffers from dementia and Good Oaks has been helping me to support this very special Aunt since June 2020. The carers have been totally trustworthy caring and reliable never missing a planned visit and always at short notice trying to give my Aunt an extra visit. At Christmas, she had to isolate
unexpectedly due to Covid testing and Good Oaks stepped in immediately to cover twice a day over that period and for which I will always be very grateful to them. We said goodbye to Good Oaks this week as my Aunt has now entered a care home for 24-hour care. Thanks Good Oaks, one and all and special thanks to those special carers that never let my Aunt down.

The service and support my parents received over the last 12 months has been exemplary. Initially from the one hourly sessions throughout the week to help with cleaning, shopping, and companionship, to the overnight support and care that was required to monitor medication and 'just be there for them'.
The Staff built trust with my parents, allowing them to relax and not worry about the everyday tasks that were starting to become too much for them. The night cover was invaluable, allowing my parents to sleep without worry, they certainly became more relaxed knowing there was advice, support, and someone to call on if needed. I can't praise the ladies more highly. Knowing my parents had this support also allowed both my sister and myself to relax a little and not over worry about our parent's wellbeing. I would also like to mention the office staff. No issue seemed too great especially with the changes in cover that our parents required. To the Registered Manager and her team, many many thanks.

My father-in-law is at home and capable of basic needs, but suffers from Dementia and blood pressure. After working with other care companies in the Poole area we approached Good Oaks in January 2021. I am so glad we did. Firstly I would like to say how professional they are and how all their staff
are extremely proactive in caring for my father-in-law. If I have a problem there is no "Oh I don't think we can do that" it is "Let's see what we can do". The duties include shopping, cooking, and collecting of meds from the chemist as well as general daycare. And if I can't get down to Poole (90 mins from me) they have indicated they will help with getting him to appointments. I would add that I find the staff of Good Oaks completely trustworthy and if any problem becomes apparent they contact me instantly. This really is a 5-star company.

My wife and I have Power of Attorney for a lady who is in her eighties and is suffering both physical and mental frailty. We live a long way from the lady’s home so we are not able to offer the level of care we would wish to. However, we have found the services of Good Oaks Home Care - Bournemouth,
Poole and Christchurch have provided the care we are not able to give. Their care has been personal, efficient, competent and compassionate. We have been very impressed with the willingness of the carers to go beyond the call of duty in seeking the welfare and well-being of their clients.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff.
Always willing and able to do whatever I need around the house. Including but not limited to helping me wash and dress, washing my hair, ironing and cleaning.
They also took me on outings before the covid-19 lockdown, pushing me around in a wheelchair.
I highly
recommend them.

We have had live-in carers for both my parents and they have all been excellent. No matter how challenging things can be, they have all shown great patience, respect and understanding to my parents' needs. Nothing has been too much trouble and willingness to help in any way is always there. As a family,
we have witnessed deep compassion and meticulous care by all employees of Good Oaks and would have no hesitation in recommending them.

I had been with a previous care company which was not quite right for me. Since being with Good Oaks, I have been extremely happy not only with the company but also with the level of care I receive from my live-in carer. We get on very well and I feel my carer understands my needs which allows me to
enjoy my independence whilst being able to continue to live in my home.

I was recommended Good Oaks Home Care by a friend working in the Care Sector when my Father’s previous package was ended with only a weeks notice!
The local office in Poole agreed to take over his home care very quickly, the transition between company’s was dealt with very efficiently.
Dad has received
a very caring and reliable service from the first day of being with Good Oaks, the carers are always professional and friendly and are happy do that bit more for Dad if and when needed.
I have always had great backup from the office staff, again always professional, polite and willing to advise on health and care matters. I especially like the online Care Information which gives me access to the Carer visit notes, which gives me peace of mind wherever I maybe.
Both Dad and I are delighted to recommend Gook Oaks, thank you for what you do!

Good Oaks have been providing care since March 2019. They have provided a consistently high standard of care. They always respond quickly to queries and the care planners work hard to accommodate the needs of the individuals cared for. Staff always behave in a professional manner and are patient in
difficult circumstances. Staff are proactive and always offer to help with household tasks if time permits. Good Oaks provide online access to care notes for family members which is a great help.

This is the first time we have had carers for my 91-year-old father who has been very independent in spirit, if not in body lately. We were apprehensive about the change this new arrangement would have but we have been delighted with Good Oaks care. Key aspects that make me recommend them are the individualised
care plan, lots of good questions about lifestyle preferences made me feel my father was not just the sum of his medical conditions. Then the carers who came round were very sociable with him and very able to see that this was important. Lastly, as my fathers named carer I really appreciate the direct line I have through email to the coordinator. We can exchange important info this way on all matters. Highly recommend this service.
