The quality of care provided for my 95 year old mother was excellent. She regarded the carers as her friends and looked forward to their visits.

Excellent service from a very caring young lady. My sister has accepted care willingly even though care from a previous company had failed badly and resulted in my sister changing her locks so they could not enter the house.


Managers have also been very helpful in this settling in period.

From the first phone call I made until sadly my mother died the whole package was amazing, the carers were excellent, nothing was too much trouble and they built up a rapport with my mum, which both she and we appreciated. The management were totally on the ball. I would have no hesiation about recommending
Bluebird to anyone who was in need of care. Have to say they knocked spots off the first well known company I went with, so glad I changed to them.

I must praise Bluebird Care for enabling me to go on holiday abroad. They supplied the carers who accompanied myself and my friend.


In particular I must thank the regional care manager. Without her help and encouragement, the holiday would never have taken place.


What will Bluebird enable

After a fall my grandfather had, resulting in a broken hip we decided to look into home care. With all the good reviews and word of mouth lead us to contact Bluebird Care, and we are very happy we did, the team is fantastic from the moment we all met to present my grandfather's care has been outstanding,
he has a personal care support plan to meet his every need. It's very reassuring to know that your most loved ones are cared for as if they are family. The staff are very caring, loyal and dedicated. I for one would recommend Bluebird Care to anyone that is looking for a care provider to help their most loved ones stay in the comfort of their own homes as long as possible. The management team are always there for you, any problem or change that needs to be added to the care plan is never too much trouble. Thank you all so much.

Job Title: Owner

Bluebird Care Northumberland South is led by Wah Akram. Wah started delivering homecare in Northumberland South to help support customers in the area to receive homecare and support while remaining in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. Delivering the highest quality of homecare and support is Wah’s absolute goal and the team would be delighted to hear from anyone who is seeking homecare for themselves or for a loved one, or would simply like to talk to someone about the services we provide.


I have lived and worked in the area all my life, gaining almost 20 years experience at all levels of customer care.


I decided to move into the care sector as I want to make a real difference to the lives of the people living in the community. Bluebird Care was the obvious choice for my business as I believe passionately in our mantra ‘a good old fashioned service'. When considering a care provider for my own loved ones, I would expect nothing short of the level of care which I would provide myself. Here at Bluebird Care we aim to deliver exactly that.


So how do I plan to ensure this? In the first instance by only recruiting carers and office staff who share the same ethos as Bluebird Care, and then providing excellent training and support. Staff retention, enabling continuity of care, is key for any care provider. This can only be achieved by a team, working in an excellent environment, where every member is encouraged to continually strive to be the very best at what they do.

Job Title: Executive Care Manager

I have worked in the care industry for over 25 years starting as a home carer working in the community, which I dearly loved. Working my way up through the roles of Care Supervisor and various other Care Manager and will be responsible for the day to day running of the business. I have a passion for delivering high-quality care, with a person-centred approach, to meet the needs of all of our customers.

I also bring with me a great deal of experience in the support, encouragement and management of a team. The training and development of all of our staff is very important to us and I will endeavour to encourage the team to be continuously looking for ways in which they can develop their expertise.


I believe this will meet and exceed the expectations for all of our customers and their families who live in our community.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and grandchildren.

I started caring from a young age for my grandparents, and I knew it was something I’d like to do as a career. I started my caring career when I was 18 working as a care worker out in the community. After a few years, I decided I would like to be based in the office. Since starting at Bluebird it has been a real challenge going from a carer to a care coordinator, but it was one of the best decisions I have made.


Outside of work, I spend my time with my son and family.

Job Title: Finance & Office Administrator

I started employment at Bluebird Care wanting a change in careers from my previous employment, the opportunity to work in an office and expand my knowledge in finance and administrational tasks was something that interested me.


From my time at Bluebird Care, I have completed Levels 2 & 3 in Business Administration. I would say I have a good connection with all staff and customers as I am often the first point of contact for anyone wanting to contact or visit the office.


I have also picked up a lot of different responsibilities from my time at Bluebird Care, this includes Invoicing, Payroll, Recruitment & keeping on top of our Social Media accounts and many more responsibilities.


Outside of work I like to socialise with my friends & family, I also like to watch & play football as much as possible.
