I engaged Bluebird Care to care for my friend for whom I am also Attorney. They have provided invaluable, efficient and compassionate care which has helped me enormously to look after my friend as her dementia progressed. The office is efficient in planning visits at appropriate times, even with changes
to the normal routine at short notice. The management team for care planning and administration are helpful and courteous at all times. In care planning, attention is given to the important details when supporting them in their own home as well as medication etc.
The carers have all been very kind and supportive, providing appropriate personal care discreetly without being overbearing and meals/snacks as desired while encouraging a healthy eating regime. I have been confident in their strict regime for medication. Visits are never missed even if, on rare occasions, a previous client's problems caused a delay. Domestic duties are done as needed. My friend looks forward daily visits.

We have only started using Blue Bird over the last few months and had to get used tot he idea of allowing care workers into the home.
We started with 45min appointments, 5 days a week. This has quickly grown to visits twice a day and they are proving very helpful.
We are impressed with the care
taken by Blue Bird management to ensure we met each of the staff.
Everyone has been very friendly and cheerful. We are especially pleased that staff from Blue Bird always arrive exactly on time, always smartly dressed and arrive with a smile.
We would have no hesitation in recommending them to anybody in need.

Having Bluebird care in to look after Mum for half an hour each morning gave me peace of mind if only for that short time. I knew Mum was ok if I didn't receive a call, which doesn't sound like much until you are in this type of situation and you are worrying all day every day.
I was always kept up
to date if there was a problem.

My daughter approached Bluebird Care on my behalf, their response was immediate, a home visit to me to discuss my personal needs. I was obvious to me that the recipients needs must be equally positive, itemised specifically. I engaged Bluebird Care and received excellent service, always prompt, kept
my private needs in a most understandable way. The downside of their service is - in one week I had 4 different cares, newcomers to me, which I did not like, so haven't engaged them subsequently. My needs at 100 years of age are spasmodic during periods when my daughter and her husband go on holiday, which I have encouraged them to do frequently - Bluebird have always responded promptly.

Reply from Philip King, Director at Bluebird Care Derbyshire Dales & Amber Valley

This lady used our respite service on an infrequent basis. The care referred to relates to September 2014 when the lady did receive more carers than usual but at her specified times. This sometimes happens with respite care as we do need to prioritise our regular customers. We have reviewed our respite service and do try to keep the number of carers to a minimum and we do warn people now that we need to prioritise our regular customers.
The lady did use our service again in November 2014 when she had only 2 carers for 2 visits per day over 5 days.

I have had the misfortune of experience of other care agencies and have found Bluebird Care Belper to be the Rolls Royce of the care industry, their focus on the client and their individual needs is impressive. Both management and carers show genuine empathy, respect and care towards both mum and I.
Mum is treated as a person and is engaged on all levels their patience and professionalism is maintained at all times and emphasis is always placed on maintaining mums dignity. For me they are easily contactable at all times and receptive to inevitable changes they listen and always do their best to help. I feel very lucky to have mum's care in the hands of Bluebird and have peace of mind and the confidence that mum is safe.

I turned to Bluebird Care when my father had died and my mother was diagnosed with dementia a few years ago. Initially, the help was in the form of meal preparation, cleaning and companionship and has steadily progressed to personal care and medication. Right from the start, Bluebird have provided
a consistent level of care for my mother and this has meant that I am able to have a working life in the knowledge that she is being well looked after. I see her regularly and the support that Bluebird provide means that I no-longer have to worry if I don't see my mother everyday because I know that she loves to see the carers. One of my concerns before engaging a care company, was that there would be too many faces and time changes for my mother to cope with. Bluebird keep to a small amount of regular carers who stick to consistent visiting times. I am always sent a Visit Record so I am able to see who is with her and if I want to talk to them I can call. Mum's home is kept lovely and clean, they dress her nicely and she is well looked after at mealtimes. Since medication has been introduced, Bluebird have been extremely diligent over this. There is a 24 hour on-call number given if I have any concerns out of hours. I would highly recommend Bluebird care to anyone needing assistance for family members, they have made my life much less stressful and my mother appears to be very happy to have regular visits from 'the very nice girls' who make her cups of tea!

Caring & conscious; professional & punctual; friendly & flexible.

The entire Bluebird team take excellent care of my father in law, now literally morning , noon and night ! They have also responded to the needs of us, the family with additional support as circumstances have changed, often at extremely

short notice.

Communication is excellent and a "can do " approach a God send. My dad in law is treated with the utmost respect as is his home. His care plan is comprehensive and tailored to his individual needs and foibles.

We are all extremely grateful we found the ladies and gentlemen at Bluebird Care!

Bluebird have been excellent in my care,
They are all caring and very passionate about their job, they became friends and not just people who come in to do a job,
They also assisted my wife with a few medical issues and didn't utter the words "that's not my job" once, even though they were only paid
to help me.
We can only hope the Carers in the Nursing Home are at the same standard as your Team!
