I cannot praise the professional care that Home Instead provide for my mother enough. All the care professionals are wonderful, warm, caring people who have helped my mother so much even when she doesn’t want to be helped. Living with dementia is difficult enough for loved ones, but the two carers are
just wonderful with her and make her life so much easier for her and for her family.
Thank you to everyone involved at Home Instead for everything you do. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone needing professional care at home.

We are really pleased to hear that you and your mum have been enjoying our Care Professionals visiting. We know the challenges that living with dementia can bring to a family, and we are here to support you all in the best way we can.

I contacted Home Instead late December 2023 to ask for help for companionship for my mum - initially for a couple of afternoons a week.
Even though it was the Christmas/New Year period I got the quickest and most helpful of replies - and I met their area manager the following week with Mum. The manager
came to Mum's house and was fantastic, professional but friendly and so understanding of both our needs.
After completing the paperwork and chatting with us for a good two hours (extremely thorough which is just what is needed), we came up with an initial plan for Mum.
The manager went away, completed all the relevant details and contacted me 24 hours later. The following week we started the twice-weekly visits for Mum - the manager matched the 'companions' for mum so well! Obviously the same person each week, Mum gets on so well with them both, they are kind, caring and compassionate whilst also knowing all mum's needs via an app which me and my sister have access too, brilliant.
Just fantastic.

Thorough assessment of Mum's care needs, putting her at the heart of all they do, some changes agreed and implement as required. All care professionals introduced on first visit and every single one has been professional, well trained, intuitive and caring. The documentation ensures excellent communication
of care and gives me peace of mind. Very impressed and would highly recommend.

All of my contact with Home Instead has been very good. They were very thorough and comprehensive in their care. Unfortunately, we had to cancel. This was not due to Home Instead. Home Instead was very understanding about us having to cancel. I would definitely use Home Instead in the future.

My mother recently started some in-home care with Home Instead. She has been dealing with Parkinson's disease since her 40s, and both mum and my dad have coped very well alone. She is now in her 70s and in the past year or two has developed very severe spinal pain, and been diagnosed with cancer. It
has just reached the point that they need help. None of us knew what to expect. Having met the carers and spent time with them and my parents, I cannot recommend them enough. They provide the personal care mum needs, but in addition, if she is having a better day, they will help out with housework, or just provide companionship - playing a game or just having a chat. There are plans for them to take Mum shopping sometime. I cannot comment on the value for money, as this was very sudden, and Home Instead came recommended by my mum's Parkinson's care worker, so we did not shop around. I live in Canada, and am happy/reassured that my parents are getting this wonderful help.

Thanks for your kind words. Knowing we are making a difference to someone's day is why we do what we do. We thoroughly enjoy supporting your parents and are pleased to hear you are reassured when you are not close by.

Home Instead and its care professionals provide excellent daily service for my father-in-law and mother-in-law.
They are both in their late eighties with a number of health conditions. The service provided by Home Instead helps them to maintain their independence and stay living in their own home.
The
office is very responsive to any requests from the family and the care professionals are all very friendly and helpful.
They write excellent daily care notes in the app which also records tasks completed and has the ability to make comments. The family can access these notes via the app.
The care plan is also available on the app and is reviewed regularly.
Home Instead visits are a minimum of one hour long, which means there is no need to rush anything and the care professionals refer to the family if there is a need to stay longer for any reason.
The service is not the cheapest but we feel the excellent care provided is worth it. Especially as most of the family live a long distance away.

When my father moved into an assisted living apartment we realised that he needed help with personal and domestic help. He was also quite lonely so needed companionship as well. All the professional carers from Home Instead have been fantastic. They looked after my father with great compassion. I have
recently moved my father to be nearer to where I live, I wish I could have taken the professional carers with us but we are now out of their working area. I have though contacted my local branch of Home Instead to take over. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Home Instead (Ilkley & Skipton).

We have been really impressed with the care and understanding Home Instead has provided for our Mother for the last couple of years. They have adapted to her changing needs and also supported the family to be able to cover additional family activities. The caregivers are carefully chosen to give the
appropriate level of care needed and it has been really appreciated that they try, as much as possible, to keep the same people visiting. The carers who have visited have built up a great relationship with her and Mum feels able to trust them. They are generally able to adjust and be flexible to the support needed on a day-to-day basis depending on how Mum is feeling. The office team are quick to deal with any queries and the opportunity to review and update the care plan is helpful. Thank you for all you do.

I cannot recommend Home Instead highly enough. Not only does my mum receive sympathetic, courteous and friendly personal care but she has been invited, and goes to, extra social events like fish and chip lunches, singing and cake afternoons and a Christmas party. All unexpected and a lovely chance for
Mum to get out and meet some different people. Mum’s personal care helper was chosen carefully to match her personality and she always has time to chat and even think of ways to encourage her to maintain her mobility.

The care, understanding and empathy shown towards my mum has been exemplary. The care givers have put her needs first and supported her to do as much as she is able. With their practical, hands-on help, it has enabled my mum to remain in the comfort and familiarity of her own home and for that the whole
family is extremely grateful.

Making the initial contact was easy, and they understood immediately the sort of care I required. They did not pester me but left it to me to make the decision when I was ready. The care they provided showed they had listened to my requests, and she is exactly the sort of person I feel comfortable with.
I look forward to her visits.

My aunt lives alone and at 80+ is fiercely independent, having never needed help. Introducing someone into her home was not something she wanted or felt she needed. However, she has become increasingly forgetful (though doesn’t realise she is), was losing weight, and not looking so cared for as before.
I am her closest relative but live 200+ miles away. My family and I needed someone to pop in, make sure she was eating, do light housekeeping, and provide us with reassurance as she continues to manage at home. Home Instead visited my aunt for a needs assessment, with an approach that demonstrated an understanding of the circumstances, and has put in place exactly what we wanted. It has not been easy, as my aunt insists she knows nothing about the arrangement from week to week but is gradually accepting of the help. Home Instead also use an app so I can read about each visit, and I can contact the office at any time knowing there is always cover. It is a huge comfort.

My uncle has received fantastic care from the Home Instead (Ilkley & Skipton) team over the past year. From my first phone call to the office we have received attentive, kind and proactive care with the team going the extra mile to ensure my uncle is comfortable and well looked after. In addition, the
app is a brilliant resource, I really appreciate being able to look at how things are going on a daily basis. The caregivers are so conscientious and thoughtful, we are very grateful.

I have received excellent cate from Hone Instead. The carers are friendly, work hard, and I enjoy their company, specifically one carer, and I enjoy an outing to the garden centre from time to time. The coffee and food there are excellent, and my carer enjoys the time out with me!

Following the passing of my mum in April ‘21, we relocated my dad (with mild dementia) to be nearer family in Yorkshire. The move was a big ordeal for him having lost his partner, moving to a new county and leaving his friends behind. After a short time, we consulted several organisations in the area
and we opted for Home Instead who from the start showed a thoughtful, personal understanding of his needs with a professional and caring approach. His new companion visits for a few hours per week, they get on so well. He looks forward to talking and going to new places. Also, additional group outings have been arranged (meet and greets with other members; meals out etc…) where he receives door to door service accompanied by a caring carer which my dad enjoys too. Although this is all a new experience, his confidence is growing each week. This gives us as a family reassurance he has gained some new friendships, interests etc… outside the family unit and is giving him a brighter outlook.

The team from Home Instead (Ilkley) are absolutely amazing. They currently care for my step-dad, who has dementia and previously also for my mother, who had problems with mobility. I have always found them to be extremely professional, friendly and caring. Every member of the team takes a real interest
in their clients and makes them feel valued as an individual rather than ‘just another client.’
I know that I speak for the whole family when I say that we couldn’t be happier with the care provision in place.
A huge thank you to the entire team.

I cannot speak highly enough of my carers. They will do anything to help, washing up, tidying, making drinks, as I am rather disabled, I cannot go out alone. But several times a month, outings are arranged, they are such fun. We are taken to the place, helped in and out. If parking close but not available,
I am dropped off and helped inside while she parks. Living alone, I appreciate having a chat as well. I cannot imagine life without them.

Over the last 18 months through the pandemic, Home Instead Ilkley are a team we've come to trust and value. Caring, capable and regularly going the extra mile, they have helped my mum and dad to be at home and make the most of life together in their late 80s. As their physical and emotional needs have
changed, Home Instead have stepped up to support us, adapting from regular visits to live in care, together with making daily visits back home happen when respite care is needed.
From experience, it's an emotional time for families to navigate their parents growing old, which has involved some difficult conversations with the team at times. But issues have always been worked at very hard to resolve, and get us to a better place. We feel really listened to and supported as a family by this.
We also value the many small acts of kindness by the Home Instead carers towards my mum and dad on a daily basis, which continues to have a profound impact on their lives and wellbeing I'm sure.

I found Home Instead (Ilkley & Skipton) after struggling for several months with another live-in care provider.
I found everything that I needed for my 90-year-old mother, much of which had been lacking with the other company.
The backup staff in the office, who organised the care, paid real attention
to detail, found the ideal person to care for Mum, matching her emotional/health needs and providing her with the security and stability which had been lacking previously. She was extremely professional, well qualified, attentive, diligent, and hard-working to a fault. Mum's apartment was spotless, the food was excellent and she was calm and reassured.
When cover was needed (as in, when the carer was on her break) care was always taken to introduce any new carers to my mother and without exception, the carers were kind, helpful, thoughtful and mostly also interesting and engaging people whose company Mum enjoyed. There were never any language problems which is important for someone needing company.
