Owner John Walsh recognised the need for better care services and knew that he wanted to deliver the same promise as Right at Home – ensuring that clients’ dignity, independence and well-being remained a top priority at all times.
Nice to meet you! I opened Right at Home (Brentwood, Billericay and Havering) in 2014 with an aim to help people improve the quality of their lives by providing high-quality care to adults in their homes and their local communities.
I am married to Zara and have two daughters who attend a local school. Zara served as a police officer in the local community for many years before being medically retired with Multiple Sclerosis.
My motivation to change career and to become involved in providing care to the elderly and people with disabilities was very personal, based on my experiences with my Mother who benefited significantly from the home care she received, and my experience of living with a loved one with a disability.
It can be overwhelming to decide on the best thing to do when someone close to us needs care and we naturally want them to receive the very best level of care. With this in mind I am confident that by joining Right at Home, my care team and I will be able to provide a very high standard of care to all of our clients. Through our personalised services, you can be assured our clients will receive the care and attention which they deserve.
Prior to joining Right at Home, John had a senior leadership role in the services sector and is passionate about working very closely with clients to understand their real needs to deliver a high-quality service based on individual choice.

My name is Marie Gower I worked in London for several years, then after having children wanted to work closer to home. I started my career in care around 10 years ago working as a domiciliary caregiver. I have worked my way from Carer to Field Care Officer, Care Coordinator and Care Manager.
