CareGivers provide person-centred care in Basingstoke, Bramley, Tadley, Overton, Oakley, Hook, Odiham and Hartley Wintney and surrounding areas. The Office Team make sure that clients are kept fully informed as to who is coming and when and CareGivers receive all the support they need to provide the outstanding care Right at Home is known for.

The team was delighted to be announced winners of the Inspire 2020 Awards under the category of Service Excellence in recognition of the lengths they go to in ensuring clients and their family members receive all the support they need in what can be a difficult situation. Their regular review processes ensure that they keep up to date with clients wants and needs and ensure that they are receiving care the way they want it.

The MD is a Dementia Friends Champion of the Alzheimer's Society and understands both the needs of those requiring care and those sourcing care for their loved ones. Services offered range from companionship and shopping assistance through to cooking, light housework, dressing, bathing and more complex personal care.

Quality care takes time and Right at Home recommend minimum one-hour visits to ensure that visits are not solely task-based but are based on achieving long term positive outcomes for clients and their families.

I have 9 hours of care a week to help me with appointments, shopping, cooking and housework. All the carers are excellent. They go over and above what they should do and I cannot imagine life without their help. Also, the office staff are excellent and very helpful with any enquiries that I may have.

My parents had Right at Home carers twice a week all this year, and they provided a service not only helping with housework, but with a link to the outside world through the Covid shutdowns. I was nervous about this contact to last, but they handled the visits safely throughout and were still friendly
and efficient. This was the first time they had used cares, and it worked really well.

COVID has brought all sorts of pressure to bear on the elderly, and we are delighted to support so many, like your parents, to have a safe point of contact with the outside world. Safety during the current pandemic is paramount. We go out of our way to ensure that our caregivers have all the necessary PPE in place and receive regular updates and training on best practice to ensure we deliver a safe service. I am very pleased to hear it worked so well with our team.

When my dad went into a care home nearby in March 2019, we asked Right at Home to help twice a week to take Mum to visit him. Our carer was lovely to Mum and built up a nice relationship with her. She was always punctual and helpful and we only stopped using her a Mum started to need medical care and
that was available on site for her. I'd like to thank Right at Home for contributing to my mum's quality of life.

Every member of the Right at Home team was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and proactive. Their timely advice and even just a friendly smile were invaluable in a time of uncertainty and stress. I have been very happy with Right at Home for four years. Initially, Mum needed care and when she passed away, Dad found comfort in sharing thoughts with the carers that had known her.
As Dad grew frail and unsteady, the team were exemplary in their care, particularly in their gentleness, kindness
and patience. I knew I had made the right choice when Dad thanked me for looking after him so well.
When Dad reached his 99th birthday, he was kindly remembered by all on that day and enjoyed being made a fuss of. Truly a memory for me to treasure.
I found comfort in the support and time freely given by management and carers during the difficulties that ensued. I could not have asked for more and thank the whole team from the bottom of my heart.

Right at Home has looked after my Mum for several years. I have always found them to be helpful and supportive. This was especially the case in the last few months leading up to Mum sadly passing away. I could not have wished for a better support system, a friendly voice at the end of the phone whenever
things got difficult, or a cheery face for Mum when she was struggling. The carers would often go out of their way to ensure Mum was comfortable and had everything she needed. I cannot praise the team enough in every aspect of Mum's care and would not hesitate in recommending them. We would not have managed without them. Many many thanks.

After contacting the service provider they came to my mum's house to take details and then again to introduce the carer to mum. When I returned from holiday my mum was really pleased with the care she had received and couldn't stop talking about it. All in all, we were very impressed with the service
provided.

Right at Home helped us to care for my father who had advanced dementia and mobility problems. Over a 2 year period, they provided carers to cover our live in carers breaks and occasionally to assist the live in with the morning and evening routine.
The management was excellent always available and
willing to adapt to our every changing needs. The carers are warm, kind and respectful and generally worked well with us. Reliability and timekeeping were notably excellent and billing clear and accurate.

My wife found Right At Home online. They had good reviews so we contacted them. After talking to a representative, we were happy to use their services. My mum wasn't happy that we had arranged this care (1 hour a day) but after just a week, she loved seeing the same person who came to visit. The care
only lasted 6 months but my mum's carer was a lovely person and will also be attending mum's funeral - Bless her. Thank you.

After my father was taken ill and rushed into hospital, my elderly mother needed help to get to the hospital to visit him. An assessment was made within hours to see exactly what needs my mother had as she herself is in a care home. A carer was appointed to take my mother to the hospital for the afternoon
visits. Right at Home were able to get staff on almost all the days that she needed them. We have had to use them again very recently, having to use the emergency telephone number on a Saturday morning and again Right at Home were able to provide carers. Excellent service and it takes so much pressure off a difficult and worrying situation. I highly recommend this company. They are friendly, approachable and professional.

Staff often went above and beyond duties. Staff in their own time took mum out and stayed with her when she went to hosp. Staff took magazines etc when visiting. When mum was distressed staff took the extra time to stay and calm her. Contact from the office was always excellent and willingness to help.

We called in Right at Home (Basingstoke & District) help when I had a stoma. The staff changed my stoma bags every other day and were very kind and understanding.


Sometimes someone had to come after work if one of the bags was temperamental and leaked. They were always calm and reassuring. I couldn't

have managed without them.

I opened Right at Home Basingstoke in 2015 as I saw it as a great opportunity to do something worthwhile within my local community.


Previously I had spent more than 25 years supporting the SME Business sector in London and the Home Counties as a member of the banking community. During this time I always focused on achieving a high quality of service in my approach to clients and as a result, many of those clients have since become good friends.


Over the years, I helped numerous businesses grow and their owners achieve their ambitions and I revelled in their success. This lit a slow-burning fuse for a desire to run my own business one day. Hard work, long hours and commitment took me to senior management level with NatWest and when an opportunity arose to leave, I seized the chance to realise my own ambition.


I have seen various members of my family need care over the years; this experience, alongside my commitment to quality services and a desire to do something positive within the local community, led me to join Right at Home. Our business is centred on Basingstoke and covers all points from Whitchurch in the west to Hartley Wintney in the east, Herriard in the south and Tadley in the north.


I am exceptionally proud of all of our team. From Emily, the Registered Manager, through the rest of the office team that ensure our standards are kept at the highest level. Then there is our amazing team of CareGivers who are the people that dedicate themselves to provide the most fantastic care to our clients. We were delighted to have been recognised by our regulator the CQC with an overall rating of Outstanding.


I am married with two children; my wife runs her own small business maintaining and repairing lifts and escalators, whilst our two children continue to progress through the education system. When I’m not working I enjoy playing golf – especially when I’m playing well!

I became a care worker after moving out of a career in forensic histology for one of the big pharmaceutical companies as I required a job that fitted around my young children at the time. Working as a carer, I quickly realised that this was something I truly loved and decided this was going to be my future career. To develop my knowledge and skills, I took and passed my NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care. I firmly believed I could make a difference and treated others with the same level of dignity and respect that I would wish for my own parents or grandparents.


I went on to join Right at Home Basingstoke in 2017 as the Care Coordinator, a rewarding role that allowed me to meet the needs of CareGivers, clients and their families. It provided me with the skills required to enhance continuity of care which is key to the provision of high-quality person-centred care. I was also given the opportunity to train new staff in relevant regulated activities that allowed them to carry out their role in the community effectively alongside our Right at Home values. Right at Home has been very supportive of my development and agreed to fund my Level 5 in Health & Social Care.


In 2019, I became the Registered Manager of Right at Home Basingstoke which allowed me to really put my learning into practice. I completed my Level 5 in Health & Social Care in 2020. This allows me to share best practise with my team and ensure that all our clients are receiving the highest quality of care individually tailored to their needs. The role of Registered Manager has allowed me to ensure that I provide a safe environment for my Caregivers where they feel supported and empowered to provide outstanding care to our clients.


My team and I are fully committed to promoting independence, helping clients to stay in their own homes as long as they wish and enhancing their quality of life.

Job Title: Service Quality Manager

I joined Right at Home Basingstoke as a CareGiver in 2017. I had never worked in homecare before and my family told me not to do it. In fact, when I told my sister, she cried. How wrong they were! From the moment I started, I loved the job.


Since then, I have learnt so much about care and been very supported by Right at Home. In 2019, I became the Care Coordinator taking over the role from Emily, the now Registered Manager. Whilst this was designed to be a very much office-based role, I took every opportunity I could to get out there and interact with our clients. This included actually carrying out care calls when necessary.


As we have grown, I have been moved to my current role as Service Quality Manager which involves handling new client enquiries, visiting clients in their own homes to discuss care planning and drawing up high-quality care plans for our great care team to follow. Thereafter, I make sure that the clients and their next of kin are happy with the care being provided and that it meets the desired outcomes.
