Reply from Kellie Packham, Registered Manager at MD Care
Thank you for the feedback, I can only apologise for your disappointment in the service your Mum has received. The reason that the carers have been late for your mum's calls recently is that we have a service user before her who unfortunately has been very unwell and has had to have an ambulance called for them, this is something that we have no control over and makes us run late for your mum's call.
The calls that were missed were when we first started your mum's care and this has now been rectified.
Kare Plus tries as much as possible to stick to call times specified but due to the nature of our work, this is not always possible.

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.000) out of 10 for MD Care is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.
The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
The Average Rating of 5.000 for MD Care is calculated as follows: ( (17 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 17 Ratings = 5
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').
The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 2 points in total for each of the next 9 Positive Reviews (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.1, 7th = 0.1, 8th = 0.1, 9th = 0.1, 10th = 0.1)
The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for MD Care is based on 3 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 = 4
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I previously worked with children with Emotional behaviour disorders in a residential home for two years, alongside this I worked with families being a family support worker in the community. Having two children myself, I found it very difficult working the long hours along with the mental strain of working with children.
I joined MD Care as a domiciliary carer in October of 2021, I realized how much I loved working with adults and I wanted to learn more and do more for the clients I worked with. I am now working towards my level 4 NVQ in Adult Social Care and have completed training the trainer in Manual handling, Medication awareness and SOVA and the care certificate.
