Friendly Homecare is an independent provider of care support services for elderly and vulnerable individuals. Their services are aimed at supporting individuals to maintain their independence within their own homes and communities. They cover a range of practical, personal, and complex support for older adults, individuals with learning or physical disabilities, mental health issues, dementia, palliative care needs and many other long-term conditions.

Worth mentioning as well, is their companionship support, which includes accompanying clients/service users to appointments (medical or non-medical) or going out shopping. It could also include visiting a café/restaurant or visiting places of interest such as art galleries, cinemas, museums, theatres, etc. This ensures that individuals can continue to engage in the activities that they enjoy, therefore promoting their independence, self-esteem and general wellbeing.

The team recognise and appreciate that every individual is unique; and so they dedicate time for collaboration with the individual and their family or legal representative(s), to develop personalised care plans. This consequently enables them to provide a high quality of person-centred care, based on the support required.

The team at Friendly Homecare are committed and passionate about delivering a truly personal care experience. They focus on ensuring that clients/service users have continuity of care. This is so important in developing trust and building good relationships. It also helps tremendously in recognising subtle changes in clients/service user needs that may ordinarily be missed if there is no continuity.

I have used the Friendly Homecare agency for years and would heartily recommend it to anyone looking for expert, friendly and professional care. The carers maintain a good rapport with their clients and their cheerful presence lifts the spirits. I feel fortunate to have found such an excellent care
provider.

My elderly friend used another company before this one, the carer that came was different almost every time which she found unsettling. With Homecare she has got to know and feel comfortable with the carer that comes it makes a big difference to see her happier now.
The carer is always cheerful too,
she even cheers me up if I happen to be there when she comes!

The agency and their staff are very efficient and extremely helpful. My carer is very good, very punctual, helps me a lot with my personal care and any other help I may need in the hour she is here. She was extremely helpful when she took me out in my wheelchair this week. My first outing due to Covid-19
restrictions. The agency is very proficient in coming to see me to do reviews.

For some months before my father's death (dementia, aged 97) Friendly Homecare provided the 24-hour support that my mother needed to look after him at home. Since his death, they have continued to supply the support that my mother (now aged 100) needs to continue living (and working, she has not retired
yet, and is not planning to!) at home. I am full of praise for the carers, who are quick to respond to her very varied day-to-day needs, whether they be shopping (problematic since March 2020), assistance with phone calls (needed because she is pretty deaf), through to personal care, especially when, as too often, she has a bad back and can scarcely get out of bed without assistance.
I am equally impressed by the management, who are always completely aware of any issues or problems, often even before I am, and pro-active in dealing with them. Always ready to drop in for a chat. And they have always ensured that a new carer is fully briefed and able to take over smoothly.

Friendly Homecare was recommended to us by our trusted solicitor, and for the past 2 and a half years they have provided an outstanding service supporting our adult son who has a learning disability, dyspraxia and autism. The manager pays specific attention to his regularly updated care plan and allocates
reliable, caring, responsible and happy support workers to aid his independent living skills. We have seen our son’s speech and confidence improve considerably since using Friendly Homecare and this has enabled him to be able to articulate his needs and gain more control over his life. It is wonderful to see him smile so much more.

Friendly Homecare have provided a fantastic service for a few of my clients in the last 2+ years. The manager and his team are extremely caring and friendly towards their clients and provide them with consistent support as required. The manager and his team and are able to spot when the client's needs
change and how they can assist in the new phase of care. I cannot recommend a care company any higher as they give me peace of mind that my clients are being cared for.

I recently had a fall In the middle of the night and hitting my head and this resulted in a blood clot pressing on the surface of the brain. For the next 8 weeks I needed a carer in the morning to help me wash, dress and take me for a walk and a night another carer in case I had another fall. These
two helpers were a delightful surprise. Pleasant, courteous, attentive and efficient and confident in their ability. It is more than likely that my wife and I, being in the twilight zone of our lives, may need care again and we would not hesitate to contact Friendly Homecare again.

I cannot recommend Friendly Homecare more highly> They responded immediately to my request for help to support my father on his return from hospital after a serious fall and provided wonderful carers at extremely short notice. The manager and his team could not have been more understanding and supportive
and I am so grateful to them not only for the high quality of their nursing care which greatly assisted my father's recovery but for the support they offered my mother and myself during this difficult period. I would not hesitate to call on them again should it prove necessary

My help was quickly assessed and the programme started immediately.
My carer was calm, friendly, sensible, charming firm but full of humour.
Nothing was too much trouble and she was as keen as I was for me to be independent.

The manager was accommodating to my requests and happy to go along with

anything I asked.
Everything was done to suit me and I never felt trapped in a system
I could not have asked for better support.

Friendly Homecare provided a very good service. Their carers demonstrated both empathy and great kindness; often prepared to go that extra mile to make things run smoothly. They were a delight to have around because they were so practical and cheerful.

A friend recommended Friendly Homecare Ltd when I needed help with my 95-year-old husband. I was so lucky that they did so. The same small group always cared for him, no chopping and changing. Without exception, they were all absolutely great - reliable, knowledgeable, kind and efficient. Now that my
husband has died I really miss their daily friendly visits. The firm is impeccably run - they make you feel totally looked after and cared for. I recommend them to anyone who wants a first class personal care service.

Friendly Homecare are a wonderful professional team of carers who look after my disabled brother. They take him out swimming and other outdoor activities. He really enjoys their company and has stated they “really care for his needs”. He looks forward to doing activities with them and keenly asks when
is the next occasion he will be out with them.
They also carefully comment on each occasion they take him out in their reports and if there are any issues, detail and address them with my brother and his family.

Friendly Homecare has provided at-home carers to my severely disabled friend for several years. The circumstances for the carers have sometimes been trying, the hours inconvenient, but always the care and professionalism was of the highest standard. On many occasions, extra care was needed at short
notice; that, too, was always provided. The safety of the client was always paramount, and we received wise advice and support from Friendly Care at all times. Highly recommended.

I have used this service for over a year it has been very well worth having. The staff take on the little jobs eg household that are rather heavy - for instance; dealing with recycling, water for indoor plants, bedmaking. The two staff that I have had longest both liked cooking which is a real bonus
as I regard meals as important, both the cooking and the presentation. Both are courteous to visitors, making them tea/coffee etc which makes for a pleasant atmosphere. Some have been more resourceful than others and calmer.

They respond to phone calls or emails quickly. They did a thorough care plan and made changes, as my uncle's needs increased. They knew exactly who we were and were always up-to-date with what was happening. They responded quickly to any concerns we raised. They were amazingly flexible when we asked
for variations of cover at short notice. They were very reasonable with their prices, better than the other agencies we looked at. The only reason we have stopped using them is that my uncle now needs live in day and live in waking night cover but we will call on Friendly Homecare for any holiday cover or emergencies.

The care that was provided was for a dementia patient who had suffered a stroke 15 years prior. We, as a family, had used several companies before to provide home care. Having experienced terrible care companies and carers in the past, we were very happy with the care that Friendly Homecare provided.
They were honest, flexible, accommodating and most of all, caring. They provided carers who were lovely and helped enormously with the care of this family member. The management kept us informed whenever there was something not quite right and kept on top of the care, managing the carers and being proactive. Communication was very good. In our experience finding a good company and carer is difficult and there are some terrible ones out there but we have no hesitation in recommending this company.

The team at Friendly Homecare supply carers for my severely disabled son, and I really cannot fault them.
They go out of their way to ensure that my son is comfortable with them and they are always very caring and helpful.
I have used many agencies in the past, but feel very happy to let Friendly
Homecare take over for the time they are with us.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Friendly Homecare is based on 9 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 4.9

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I’ve been working in the social care sector for over 20 years. My personal and work experiences have inspired my passion for encouraging and supporting elderly & vulnerable individuals to maintain their independence within their own homes or to regain it, following a deterioration in abilities, perhaps owing to illness or other reasons.

I am experienced in supporting & planning support for individuals with various health conditions and I have worked closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive health outcomes for service users. Through person-centred care planning, the team and I are able to promote individuals’ capabilities, choices, dignity and self-esteem, as a means of stimulating better physical and emotional well-being.

I am also quite ardent about staff development, in order to deliver an efficient, high quality and personalised care service with a focus on interaction and involvement.
