Right at Home Havant has an Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission (November 2018) which is a testament to an amazing care team who deliver high quality care in the community of Havant, Emsworth, Southbourne, Westbourne, Hayling Island, Rowlands Castle, Waterlooville and Horndean.


The team provide versatile care packages tailored to support specific needs and preferences – nothing is too much trouble! Typical services include personal care, help in the home, hospital to home, specialist dementia care and respite care. In addition, overnight and 24-hour live-in care can be supplied and arranged in a matter of days.

Their goal is to improve the quality of their clients’ lives and to make a difference every day. This is achieved by longer visit times, an hour or more, which enables the care team to take clients out on trips which otherwise would be unsafe and not practical. The care visits are more than just completing tasks, they want to encourage relationships to form which is achieved by matching Clients with CareGivers and with Right at Home's high staff retention levels it allows them to offer consistency so their Clients can be regularly visited by their favourite CareGivers.

All members of the team receive an initial screening call by the Business Owner followed by a psychometric test and face-to-face interview. They are reference and DBS checked before they step foot in a Client’s property. They also undergo in-depth training and shadow experienced members of staff to ensure that the high standards of care are met. All CareGivers are dementia trained and will have regular reviews and training throughout their time with Right at Home to ensure the best support for both CareGivers and Clients.

I am very glad to have found Right at Home. My 86 year old father suffers from dementia with my mother as the carer. With Right at Home's help providing excellent service, he was able to stay at home. The carers are gentle, patient and engaging with my father. I would have no hesitation recommending
Right at Home to other families.

My carer has shown kindness and always treated me with dignity. She has shown understanding and compassion. She has done everything that has been asked of her. She has done the laundry, swept floors, arranged flowers and many other things. Above all she has been a kind and thoughtful carer.

We appreciate the kindness and patience that you showed Mum even when she could be a little difficult. We were always able to rely on your flexibility and your professional attitude

All of the girls were amazing and it’s impossible to single anyone out, but mum had a few particular favourites with their tactful understanding of her ways and sense of humour.
They were always sweet to Mum and tried hard to give her the companionship she needed. And all of the team were readily helpful when I rang with queries and worries.

I approached Right At Home Havant to arrange a care package for my adult daughter while I took a break for 10 days. From the first contact, they could not have been more helpful. After chatting on the phone and via email, it was arranged for the care manager to come and visit us at home. This was very
helpful and she immediately put me at my ease. By chatting things over with her, I was reassured and confident that my daughter's needs would be met. A further visit to us at home was arranged in order to meet the 2 main carers, again this gave me confidence and it was lovely for us to meet the carers before I went away.
My daughter was very happy with the care she received and nothing was too much trouble. As well as personal care at home, the carers took her out for coffee and to a hospital appointment.
I was very happy with the care given to my daughter, and with the contact with me beforehand. I would definitely contact Right At Home again if the need arises.

Carers present morning and evening to undress/dress my frail husband at home after 17 weeks in hospital. In the ten days they have been present, we have had six different carers and have found them to be very reliable and efficient.

Right at Home Havant provided support for my mother for about 3 weeks, and I was pleased with the support provided. The care ceased when she was taken to a care home - by one of the carers, as requested. There were 2 visits a day, 9-10 AM and 5-6 PM (the minimum visit is 1 hour). The hourly rate was
£19.50, rising to £20 - so at weekends, there was a variation in the times of no more than half hour most days.
The visits were originally for assistance in taking medication, but extended to include food. Occasionally, she was taken out for a drive. The carers were able to handle my mother, who hates being told what to do, in a way that family members couldn't.

I met the carer for the first time this afternoon. I arrived unannounced and they were sitting right next to dad going through some puzzles / word searches. Dad was very engaged. He has dementia and mum has recently developed acute asthma. The carer gently explained how to use the "spacer" with the
inhalers and, unprompted wrote a couple of A4 pages explaining how mum should use all this new medication. The carer is very gentle and patient - perfect nature for someone in this profession.

From the start of opening the door to welcome the carer, having shown her identity I was immediately put at ease and as the time the carer has with us here. I continued to be impressed. Conversation was always a happy event and so it has been with each carer we have had. I was extremely pleased with

The care was invaluable in getting me back to normal life after a spell in hospital. It was organised to suit my individual needs and I was consulted about the care I would need. The carers are more like family than intruders in our house. My boys want to include them in all parts of their lives including preschool sports day etc. The whole process from phoning to enquire to having the help in the house was so fast and efficient. We as a family as well as me as a mum feel
so much more successful. Managing the small, daily tasks means we can have more time for other fun things. Amazing provision.

After being (what felt like) abandoned by my care agency, I was forced to go elsewhere. I came across Right at Home who could cover my 7:00 am call (a necessity as I work) and found them very friendly and caring. Although very expensive, from day one they made sure that the carers and myself were happy.

Since leaving Cardiff University almost 30 years ago I have spent most of my working life in the healthcare industry, initially working as a GP drug rep in the Portsmouth area, then I went on to head up a sales team for a government-owned blood plasma company. Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed my time working for and with the NHS, I came to realise that I wanted the opportunity to personally make a difference and to give something back to society.


I grew up in a small Surrey village, the son of a GP and a Practice Nurse, where the surgery was attached to the home. The emphasis on care and support in the community was ever-present and I learnt from watching my parents how you can make a massive difference in people’s lives by offering your time and assistance.


I also witnessed first hand the demise of my Aunt who lived with Alzheimer’s disease at a relatively young age and was saddened at her rapid decline. By helping to raise awareness and offering good quality support I believe we can improve the quality of lives and hopefully slow the deterioration whilst we search for a cure. I am proud that since we set up over 5 years ago my care team and I have managed to raise £1000s for the Alzheimer’s Society through fundraising activities such as sponsored walks, running and cake selling too!


Some of our best moments since we opened our doors 5 years ago was being awarded the prestigious rating of Outstanding from the Care Quality Commission, an accolade that is awarded to just a few care providers. This was a fantastic achievement and a testament to the amazing work our team does. Running a high-quality care business that delivers in excess of 1,000 hours of care per week, every week can be challenging especially during the pandemic but its made possible when surrounded by a fantastic team and it’s enormously rewarding too. Every day I feel truly blessed to be doing something I love with special people around me.
