Bluebird Care (Portsmouth) provides care to people in their own home, allowing them to stay in familiar surroundings for as long as possible, without having to go into residential care.

They can provide anything from short, daily visits to 24-hour care, providing assistance with a range of domestic and personal tasks, including getting up and going to bed, preparing meals, accompanying to social events, personal care and medication.

Bluebird Care (Portsmouth) offers overnight care as well as live-in care for those who require support full-time. Respite care is also available to give a person’s usual carer a break.

The teams will provide person-centred care, according to your daily routine.

If your family lives afar, they can monitor your daily care notes from their mobile phones. With the Passystem, you can see whether the carer has come and what they did for your beloved. The teams will ensure that certain problems get spotted and reported back to the family and/or other care professionals. The team will advise when they think that the person is deteriorating and advise accordingly the next step.

They deliver more complex care as well. They support people with dementia, Parkinson's, Huntington's disease and people who suffer with long term illnesses or conditions.

They can manage most cases all the way to the end if that is the wish. The live in care team are people who will move in with the customer and stay with them for certain periods at the time to ensure a safe and secure environment.

Bluebird have been looking after my father-in-law for two/three years now.
The staff are always helpful when we need any changes or extra care.
Dad loves seeing his carers. They are extremely supportive with his needs.
They are kind and caring and treat him like a family member.
They encourage
him to do tasks as independently as he can. He is treated with respect and compassion.
The family are extremely grateful for the help Bluebird support us with.
Brilliant caring company.

I am extremely happy with the care that Mum receives from all your staff.
She has no complaints and says all the carers are lovely!
My only comment would be that I observed a member of your team "talking down" to her as if she was a child. I felt this was a bit demeaning Mum is hard of hearing without
her hearing aids but perfectly lucid.

We have been with Bluebird Care for about eight years and the experience has been overwhelmingly positive.
The caregivers are compassionate, attentive and always go the extra mile to ensure my husband's comfort and well-being.
We have had many positive experiences. The most recent was when we had
part of our kitchen ceiling came down. The carer set to and helped me clear the mess. Each carer has their own individual way to enhance my husband's care. This kind of personalised attention is what sets this agency apart.
There have been a few small hiccups but the team has always been responsive and eager to improve.
Overall, I can highly recommend Bluebird for anyone seeking a top-quality care agency.
We are truly grateful for the support they provide.

They provide a high standard of person-centred care and are very reliable, often going above and beyond to help with daily tasks and covering calls when needed to provide outstanding continuity.

The quality of care means so much to a dependent client and the care provided by Bluebird Care staff, support team and management is exemplary.

Very good service and all of the carers who attended my wife were excellent. We only had to leave Bluebird care as it became clear as my wife's condition deteriorated that she needed full nursing care 24/7 in a nursing home.

When a family member has a health crisis, it is an extremely stressful time. From the moment I contacted the Bluebird team, they listened closely to our situation and immediately started coming up with ways they could work with us to secure my dad's well-being. Being listened to and offered solutions
meant the world to me, as I live five hours away from my father.
Dad received a comprehensive care assessment on Monday, and the team were able to start making daily visits on Thursday.
Everything's worked like clockwork.
Bluebird's Care Supervisor is the embodiment of professionalism and a tremendous asset to the organisation. I literally entrusted my dad's well-being into her hands, safe in the knowledge nothing would get overlooked. I am so grateful for your wonderful service.

My dad needed extra help at home, as at 92, he has started to struggle. One lady was nominated to be our (dad, my sister and myself) link care supervisor and advisor. We met during August to discuss a care package and start date. My dad liked her straight away, and very quickly, a humorous banter was
taking place. Everything was explained in detail about Bluebird Carers. Therefore, a date of start of care was set for September. Today, Dad had his visit with our nominated carer and her partner - very kind, thoughtful and patient, plus very professional. Dad was pleased to see her again and struck up a conversation with the other carer. He really appreciated the help and care he was given, and I noticed he looked less stressed and breathless. Even Dad's old companion cat introduced himself to the nominated carer. Thank you, and very pleased to have Bluebird on board for Dad's care.

Bluebird Care have been providing support to our family for a good few years; first of all for Dad and now for Mum. The managers are very responsive to Mum's various needs and also act in a proactive way to help her, which boosts her confidence and which in turn helps the family. They choose their staff
carefully, who are trained to a high standard, work very hard and are always very kind. Our family has full confidence in Bluebird! Thank you!

I arranged for Bluebird Care to provide support for my dad a couple of months ago. He has had other agencies in the past and always complained they were rushing around and leaving early. This has never been an issue with Bluebird Care.
Bluebird Care has been brilliant, really responsive to my dad's
needs and has taken the time to make my dad see the benefit of them coming around. I highly recommend them.

Might I suggest that when a man is coming in, we could be advised? Friday was a very different day as I had two policemen here, but all was well. They did ask me if I was expecting a man to call, and I said no. They went outside to meet him - I'm sure he was surprised.

Sophie

Sophie Emmess

Job Title: Registered Care Manager

Sophie was keen to find a company that shared the values she herself stands for; compassion, looking after staff and working to provide excellent customer service. She was thrilled when she came across Bluebird Care Portsmouth. Sharing these beliefs and values, Bluebird Care provides bespoke care and ensures customers' needs are the number one priority.


Having been in the care industry for more than 10 years, by working in residential homes and support houses, Sophie has finally found her career path. She feels very much at home in domiciliary care, as well as being part of a devoted company and a passionate care team.

Sophie is a prime example of a Care Manager who has worked her way through the ranks. Originally a care coordinator, Care supervisor and then a business development officer, Sophie knows the care sector ins and outs. She is well respected by her staff and will ensure that your interest in care will be taken into account and respected. Sophie has QCF Level3 in Social health care and is now studying to complete her QCF level 5 in Health Care management.


In her spare time, Sophie enjoys running and challenging herself, completing courses like Tough Mudder. We are sure that if you put any challenge in front of Sophie, she would gladly accept and conquer.

Laura Ewen

Job Title: Home Care Coordinator

Laura is in charge of the organising of rostering. Whilst we all will have a preference for certain time slots, we do not want to over-promise and not deliver. When a new customer makes an enquiry, Laura will try to get it in at the specified time if possible looking at our staff availability and our current customer base.


She will endeavour to ensure that our customers will get it as close as within a half hour in front or after if there is no option. Otherwise, we will make a suggestion of time and make a proposal on what one can accept or decline.
Laura is a seasoned care coordinator and will try to make everyone happy, ie our customers as well as our care assistants. Whilst we know that sometimes people prefer a certain carer, unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the person at all times. You will need to accept several care assistants to your team.
