Right at Home Portsmouth delivers high-quality home care to older people and adults living with a disability to help them remain independent in their own homes, and provide peace of mind for their families - whether it be just a little help that's needed around the house, some companionship, a meal to be prepared, or perhaps help with bathing or dressing.

Right at Home Portsmouth carefully select CareGivers for their compassion and empathy, taking on people with the most caring nature and then training them to the highest standards.

Continuity of care is extremely important through unrushed, minimum one hour visits built around a client’s individual needs. CareGivers are introduced to each client, and meaningful and lasting relationships are as important as performing the necessary tasks.

This review I should have posted before I'd like to shout out to her carer who has been a huge support for nan and has nan looking forward to her visiting each week and their weekly outings!
Her carer has gone above and beyond for nan with calls, visits, staying late and helping at the drop of a hat!
Not to mention the 1001 calls she must have made to the surgery/me etc she is worth her weight in gold for nan and for that I'm very grateful!
You all work tirelessly to do the best and I just want to say thanks I really do appreciate it and I know nan does too!

Thank you so much for your kind words and the time it took you to write them. We will be sure to pass this lovely feedback on to Nan's carer. It is truly a privilege to care for her!

I have met nearly all carers who attended to my father and found them all to be very cheerful which lifted his spirits and made him comfortable with his care. Nothing was too much trouble for them and were always very helpful and communicated with the family with any concerns.

Right at Home do "just what it says on the tin". They have looked after Mum for some time now. She is happy with the daily carers.
These last few days, one lady, in particular, has gone above and beyond expectations. Mum needed GP attendance, Right at Home noticed the change in Mum and instigated this
straight away. Samples were needed to get to surgery, script to the pharmacy, meds to Mum, and lots of reassuring for Mum. This was all done smoothly and very efficiently, and much of it was out of normal working hours. Not sure Mum understands the lengths taken here but is better for it.

In January 2018 my mother came out of hospital having had double pneumonia she also suffered from dementia. Life expectancy was thought to be very limited. Right at Home came in to care for her four times a day. She was at first reluctant to have carers this was quickly overcome as they became her friends.
Over the years dementia became severe but the care evolved to cater for this. The care enabled her to spend her last years at home as she wanted and not in a home. A huge thank you to Right at Home and the carers.

The service that I have had has been excellent for me and my wife who has dementia. They come in the morning and evening to take care of her personal needs and make life easy for me to deal with the everyday tasks the next of the likely tasks. They listen to my concerns and give advice when needed.

I can't thank all the staff at Right At Home Portsmouth enough for the care, kindness, and dedication they have provided for my mother. The professionalism of their management team with the no stranger policy with staff visiting, knowing the rota of regular caregivers attending and at regular times,
backed up with a reporting system to have feedback from each visit brings great peace of mind that great care and attention is given as standard. The minimum hour long time slots are also a big reassurance that the care is considered to the needs of clients, and not rushed. My mother is impressed with the service and enjoys the visits of now familiar faces of the regular staff from a select team, rather than a large pool of different faces turning up each time. All in all excellent and very pleased to have been recommended Right At home from a neighbour, and pleased to recommend them to others now too.

During lock-down I was fortunate to meet a CareGiver who worked for Right at Home whilst walking my dogs. Her enthusiasm and professionalism were inspiring and infectious. The company met my exacting and discerning standards. I was very impressed with the ‘no stranger’ policy Right at Home adopt; it’s
rare in the community to know who is visiting and their arrival time. The Care Manager kindly offered to visit, in her own time, when I bathed my dad to learn ‘the ropes’. I knew my dad was in the safest, kindest, most trustworthy hands possible.
Documentation was thorough and informative; carers promptly reported concerns. My dad enjoyed his time with his carers, during the pandemic, one constant was their unstinting support. It’s impossible to put into words the relief I felt knowing he was receiving the best care possible. If I have regrets, it’s that I was not able to introduce my lovely dad to Right at Home much sooner and more poignantly that he’s not still here to enjoy their TLC. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The ladies who came to look after my mother were the epitome of professionalism and truly cared for my mother who had dementia. They were completely reliable, kind, and never missed a visit. Even when times were very tough everyone was focused on making life as easy as possible for my mother. The ladies
looked after my mother for three years and for the last two months I worked alongside them and we made a great team. I shall always be grateful for the support they provided.
Right At Home in Portchester run a great company with some lovely people manning the office. I would recommend this company to those who need help in caring for those who need help caring for themselves.

Right at Home cared for my late mother for the past three years. Throughout this period the manager and all the staff have been totally professional, dependable and caring. Any requests, such as changes to times and dates, have been dealt with promptly and accommodated wherever possible.
Mum greatly
looked forward to her daily visits when the staff not only cared for her immediate physical needs but spent time talking to her about the latest news. This always brightened up her day.
Right at Home's superb care provision enabled Mum to enjoy her last years in her own home. I have no hesitation in recommending Right at Home.

We needed a few ad hoc nights of cover for the care of my terminally ill Mother, having had over two weeks with hardly any sleep. I was impressed by the way in which my enquiry was handled by the manager. We knew that Mum had very little time left and so it was hugely important to us to be able to spend
the last few days of Mum's life by her side as a family and not to be so tired that we were unable to function, let alone be a comfort to her. We had one carer stay with Mum for two nights and then another carer for the third night. Both were kind, calm, caring and understanding and carried out their duties discreetly and quietly. They handed over to us in the morning and took their time to explain how Mum had been. Although we were staying in the flat, on one of the carers first night Mum was particularly agitated and we gave the carer the details of The Rosemary Foundation Hospice at Home Nurses who we suggested she call if she felt it necessary and then to wake us, which she did calmly and utterly professionally.

The staff and carers at Right at Home are exceptional and really helped and supported my Mum right to the end. Just wonderful, would highly recommend their services. With the assistance of Right at Home, my Mum was able to pass naturally, with dignity, in her own bed, in her own home.

I am eternally grateful for the assistance that Right At Home (Portsmouth) have provided over the last few months - without all of Dad's carers being so amazing I don't know how Dad or I would have managed. I never expected that engaging a care agency would have gone so smoothly or that I would have
been met with such a 'can-do' attitude for every single issue that arose.

I do not often give reviews but this is a very willing exception. The staff and service here are all exceptional. Nothing is beyond the carers and they regularly go the extra mile. I have previously been my husband's only carer and handing over was something I did with not a little trepidation. I had
been supplied with other agencies after hospitalisation and so was very cautious. I should not have worried - Right at Home is exactly that. I leave my husband in their care with total confidence and know he will be happy when I return. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I believe you get what you pay for and you really do here.

I spent many years working as a District Nurse, and my experience of agencies and their staff was not good with staff arriving at various times or sometimes not at all, and having to complete care in what I thought was unacceptable time scales. I was reluctant to engage the services of an agency, however,
having reached a crisis point in the middle of lockdown, I cannot thank Right at Home enough for stepping in and restoring my faith in care agencies. The staff arrive as planned and it's always the same people that visit. Mum is not always accepting of them (her dementia is the reason she may not be some days) but they remain professional and caring. I feel as a family, we have an excellent relationship both with the carers and office staff, and the support they provide enables us to continue to keep my mum at home.

My mother started having Right at Home in January 2019 she was at home. The family decided that she needed some support, Mum reluctantly agreed.
At first, the agency visited twice a day helping with household chores and making a sandwich for lunch and a microwave meal for supper. Mum at first was very
unsure after the first day I spoke to her and she said a "lovely lady had been and she was very pleased" other lovely ladies appeared and she liked the company and the support. Mum's support continued to increase Mum was treated as an individual still maintaining her independence. Mum required night support so we had someone staying each night with support during the day. From February this year we have had a full-time carer living in. Sadly mum passed away on August 23rd aged 96 at home. Right at Home staff treated her with respect, the standard of care was excellent and any problems were dealt with very professionally myself and the family would recommend Portsmouth Right at Home.

I can not praise Right at Home enough for their professional, caring and kind service. My father has advanced Alzheimer's and is very difficult to deal with but it didn't phase the carer he built up a relationship with my father and was so very patient and maintained my father's dignity at all times.
He was brilliant with my mum who was caring for my father providing an understanding ear and a positive attitude at all times. Sadly my father could not remain at home as his Alzheimer's had gotten far to difficult to deal with but by using Right at Home it meant my father could remain in his own home for much longer.

We have been using the services of Right at Home (Portsmouth) since July 2019. I can only thank them for the support and care they provide to my mother, and would not hesitate to recommend their service which is caring, reliable and professional. From the initial telephone call to the office, the assessment
visit to discuss my mother’s needs and to the regular care that she now receives, I have never been anything other than highly satisfied.
