Right at Home (Mid Sussex) have so far provided excellent care for my friend. They seem to have an approach to their staff that results in them feeling appreciated and this has a positive benefit for clients, as staff are likely to stay if they are happy with the conditions. This gives continuity of
carers for the clients and means that rather than a stream of ever changing faces, a 'core' group of carers can provide the majority of calls and become familiar with the client. The carers can also gain a greater understanding of the care needed and get to know the client.

I have been impressed by both the management and staff of Right at Home (Mid Sussex). The need was to provide a package of visits for my brother who suffers with dementia. They have carried out the work efficiently and with great care. My brother enjoys the visits. I have nothing but praise for 'Right

I am extremely pleased with Right at Home, Mid Sussex. The Care Givers and management staff provide excellent service for both of my parents, who have very different needs. The Care Givers and management are exceptionally caring, patient, understanding, friendly and helpful. Some go out of their way
to give my parents the care they need. Also, the companionship they provide has made a lot of difference to my parents. Now I feel free of worry knowing how professional and caring the Care Givers and management are. Well done Right at Home, Mid Sussex!

Right at Home cared for my mother for the last couple of months. In this short time, we always found staff to be professional, friendly and totally reliable. They really had time for mum and would offer help and support whilst allowing her to be as independent as she could be. I would not hesitate to
recommend the manager and his team in Mid Sussex.

I find Right at Home (Mid Sussex) to be most professional for the care of my wife. The carers who attended her needs are most understanding, as she can be most difficult at times. They are very helpful at these times. Further conceded for me is the carer.

I was impressed with the time taken initially to assess my Fathers needs and to get to know him as a person.
The carers have been really great with him especially as he was reluctant to accept help at the start. They have always treated him with respect and encouraged him to let them help without taking
away his independence.


They never just whizz in and whizz out, they spend time with him and chat and I think he is enjoying the company even though he might not admit it!


It has given me the peace of mind to know that someone twice a week is calling in to help him and to keep him company.

Andy

Andy McNiven

Job Title: Managing Director

Joined: 2016

Andy joins the Right at Home network, after a long career in the leisure industry. Initially working as a qualified golf professional, his career branched into management, latterly managing large proprietary golf and fitness resorts.


In early 2016 however Andy decided it was time to channel his abilities into a business of his own, and of which he could be proud. Andy’s parents were owners of two premier residential care homes in Burgess Hill, and so having grown up in and around the environment, it was a natural choice to follow a similar path.


Andy explains “I have long looked to use my skills and knowledge in developing my own business, and with years in customer service, management and public relations roles, the care industry seemed the perfect fit for me to contribute positively back to the local community which has served me so well for the past forty years.”


“Having seen first hand the richness that quality care can bring to the lives of the elderly, I feel passionately that I too can follow in my parents’ footsteps, and make a difference to those deserving our support and understanding.”


“I am determined that Right at Home will offer the best home care service in the Mid Sussex area. We are building a team consisting of the best CareGivers, providing them with the right support, training and career development, within a fantastic working environment. This in turn ensures that our clients come to receive the highest standard of ‘person centred’ care – how they want it and when they need it.”


Andy still lives in Burgess Hill, along with his wife, two children and their dog. He still loves the occasional game of golf, plays football, is a keen supporter of Burgess Hill Cricket Club, and when time allows, likes to do crosswords, tend to his beloved garden and try to master the ukulele!


Louise

Louise Berreen

Job Title: Registered Manager

Joined: 2018

Lou has always wanted to work in care and since leaving school has gained hands-on experience within a number of NHS settings, care homes, hospices and individual private home care.


She has been working for Right at Home since 2018. Starting as a CareGiver, she always looked forward to the challenge of getting to know new clients, their families and what works best to ensure they are well cared for and feel safe within their home environment. Although her role has changed over the years, her passion for the role hasn't.


She was very pleased to be nominated for the RAH CareGiver of the Year 2021 and very proud to have won against stiff competition from all over the country.


In early 2022 Lou completed a level 4 Diploma in Adult Care and then became the Registered Manager of Right at Home Mid Sussex, a role that she is incredibly excited about.


Kerry

Kerry Tyler

Job Title: Care Co-Ordinator

Joined: 2021

My name is Kerry Tyler and I have recently joined Right at Home Mid Sussex as their Care Co-Ordinator. I started in care in 2013 when I worked in a local nursing home. Having discovered how much I enjoyed care, I moved to a well-respected domiciliary care company where I stayed for 7 years, increasing my knowledge and progressing my career.


In 2020 I took a year out to have my daughter, Isabella.


I decided to join Right at Home in 2021, as a Care Co-Ordinator, having heard what a great company they were and how they put clients needs at the heart of what they do.


Outside of work, I enjoy taking my daughter and 2 dogs out for long country walks around Henfield and Sussex where I live. I enjoy cooking and learning new recipes that myself and my daughter can enjoy.


Catherine

Catherine McNiven

Job Title: Administrator

Joined: 2016

Throughout the earlier part of my working life, I held a variety of roles in financial reconciliation and administration, acquiring a number of business and book-keeping qualifications along the way. Fifteen years ago, I left day-to-day employment so that I could focus on bringing up our two young children.


I later became a Teaching Assistant at the children’s primary school, enjoying a role where I really felt as if I was able to make a difference, and which I continued until this year when we decided to set up the business.


I am really looking forward to supporting Andy in developing the Right At Home Mid Sussex business, and learning more about the care industry, which is something I’ve never had involvement in before. I will soon be undergoing the same stringent training programme as our other CareGivers, so that I too will be able to deliver care in the homes of those that need us.
