When is care at home right for you?

Carers and administrative staff are all fantastic, caring, professional, kind and knowledgeable. Eidyn were recommended to me and I would recommend them also. They have been an invaluable support over the last few years to my dad but also to me.

Excellent service for my sister who has MS and is wheelchair-bound. Carer takes her out once a week, she looks forward to it so much as some weeks that's her only outing. Every week she tells me how much she's enjoyed herself.

Great care. I have been with them for over 5 years and wouldn't go elsewhere. Probably the best care company in Edinburgh. Good training, clearly. Carers are ultra-reliable and never don't turn up unexpectedly.

My wife has been a client of Eidyn Care since 2018. The quality of care over the years up to the present date has been everything which she and I would wish. Carers demonstrate a commitment to their work and their clients which is evidenced by the almost family-like relationships which develop and show
in the quality of care and attention to detail and welfare. As my wife's main carer, I find it exceedingly helpful to be kept up-to-date regarding staff attending, changes, delays owing to traffic, and other matters that may impact upon my role. I have no hesitation in recommending the services of Eidyn Care.

We discovered Eidyn Care in August 2019, and simply haven’t looked back! They are the best care company that I know of. All the girls are extremely kind, caring, honest, helpful, and reliable. With the onset of Covid recently, the management team have been excellent. It has been very useful to receive
updates and know of the constant changes that were needed.
My Mum is very happy with all the girls and knows that she is extremely fortunate to have their assistance. We, as a family also feel very blessed, as it is enabling Mum to remain in her own home. Thank you Eidyn Care.

I’m very happy to say that the standards of Eidyn Care have remained consistently high. The year has been particularly difficult under the circumstances of the COVID virus for the carers and all credit must go to them. They never faulted with the care and compassion.

Eidyn Care has provided exceptional care for my sister-in-law, who lives alone and needs 24-hour care. The carers work together as a team to ensure her needs are met and to provide a range of stimulating activities. They have been able to adapt very quickly to her changing care needs, and the family
feel very much supported. For example, they have arranged care at short notice where family illness has meant extra cover was needed. Communication is excellent, and we know that we can easily contact them if needed. Their management of the Covid situation has been excellent with cover continuing throughout. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I know when I'm out and about, my husband is well cared for. He enjoys being taken out by the carers for his hot chocolate. So far, we have met five carers, all bringing the same level of care. I come home to find lots of wee jobs done, carpets vacuumed, washing machine on, dishwasher emptied, and a
content husband.

During the Pandemic, it has been a lifeline for my mother to have carers from Eidyn Care. We live around 90 minutes away and supporting mum daily would be challenging, particularly as my husband is going through cancer treatment. On the occasions when we have met with carers, usually when delivering
meals for mum, we've both been extremely impressed by their care and professionalism.
My mother very much enjoys the company of the carers and the support they provide. It gives her a focus and also a 'raison d'etre.' It's encouraging to hear that they are supporting mum leaving her flat for short walks.

We are very pleased with the service being provided for our mother by the staff at Eidyn care. My mother in law (MIL) was very reluctant to accept she needed help or in her mind have strangers in the house. But when Eidyn care came to visit her and introduced the member of staff being allocated to visiting
her, she reluctantly agreed to give it a try. Here we are almost a year later and she wouldn't be without them. The fact she gets the same person visiting every day for a full hour has made such a difference, she now looks forward to the visits. For us, it gives us peace of mind, we know she is getting a home-cooked meal daily, and small cleaning tasks around the home are being attended to.

Eidyn Care continues to provide bespoke service twice daily for my elderly mother. Their attention to detail is consistently excellent. Nothing is ever a problem. Health and Social Care introduced our client to Eidyn Care, she and her husband had initially been reluctant to accept support, as they had, had a poor experience previously. However from the initial assessment visit Eidyn Care have been superb, they put the client at ease, respectfully listened to
what she had to say and answered all her questions, no matter how "silly" they seemed. Also, Eidyn Care understand the importance of consistency of carers and make every effort to ensure that the same small group of carers provide the support. Our client has got to know her carers, who have all been caring and kind, often going above and beyond what was required. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Eidyn Care have positively changed our client's life.

Rebecca McLennan McLennan

Rebecca, our Registered Manager, started her career in the Financial Services sector, and following the birth of her first son realised that her vocation was helping people and retrained as a Nurse in 2009. Rebecca specialised in Oncology during the last year of her training at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh, and after qualifying with her degree in Nursing she remained there. Working on a busy oncology ward has provided Rebecca with many years of practical experience in delivering care to people who are at their most vulnerable, giving her the skills and insight to realise that helping people to live with dignity and respect at the end of their life was something Rebecca was passionate about pursuing.


In 2011, following the birth of her second son Rebecca changed direction and moved to work at St Columba’s Hospice, Edinburgh enhancing her skills and experience. It was this experience that prompted Rebecca to form Eidyn Care, along with her husband Andrew, to enhance services already provided in the community allowing more people to stay in their own homes when faced with life-limiting difficulties. Rebecca recognises the need for people to feel comfortable within their own home environment reducing the pain, stress and anxiety for clients and their loved ones.

Andrew has run his own successful business consultancy for many years, specialising in Information Technology (IT), managing large teams across the world and multi-million-pound budgets.


Andrew brings to Eidyn Care a vast amount of business knowledge ensuring we have the right systems and processes in place to support the delivery of quality care, allowing caregivers to have access to real-time information about their clients which means they can focus on their client and provide the best care for them.
