We are so incredibly grateful to all of the wonderful team at Bay Home Care.
They made it possible for Mum to return home at a time when the hospital felt it would not be possible due to ongoing care needs.
The team took control and gave the hospital reassurance to let us have Mum cared for at home
for the next seven months.
The loving, caring family at Bay Home Care maintained Mum's dignity and even adjusted visits as needed, at one time proposing it was appropriate to reduce the package of care, and then later they identified we needed more help and were more than happy to step in and provide: they genuinely had Mum and Dad's best interests at heart.
We are so lucky that Mum and Dad came to Grange Over Sands and that Bay Home Care is there too, as the team really helped transform their lives.
Thank you all so so much, from the bottom of our hearts: words are not enough to express how incredibly grateful we are for the help & care given by you wonderful people: Team Of The Year!

Bay Home Care cared for my father in the late stages of heart failure. I spent lots of time with Dad during his last few months and met more than a dozen carers. The team were consistently excellent. Each person knew Dad, his awkward preferences and cranky mood, as well as his favourite foods and happy
memories. They cleaned, cooked and did any housework and worked very closely with Dad's doctors and nurses. If Dad had any crisis while I was away with my work, I often heard about it quickly first from Bay Home Care. They respected his desire to try and make his own meals until it was no longer possible. They provided his personal care, when he became bed-bound, and were invaluable to Dad and to me during his last two weeks of palliative care. The tenderness and true care for Dad's well-being and dignity were apparent at all times. Their care visits gave me a chance to get out of the house and run errands or have a walk. Contacting Bay Home Care was the best decision I made.

Really high-quality care and support - lovely feedback on the app that I could read twice a day! I live 240 miles away.
Carers went the extra mile but at the same time allowed her to keep as much independence as possible.

My sister and I are very pleased with the excellent care that she has received from this agency for several years. As I live 80 miles away it is reassuring to know that the agency can be contacted and will deal with any issues over and above the two visits a day which they make to give her medication.
Also, it means that both she and I know that someone will be calling every day which is an added insurance should anything happen where additional assistance is needed. Would happily recommend Bay Home Care.

Reply from Jess McDonald, Co Ordinator at Bay Home Care

We're delighted to hear about the positive experience your sister has had with our agency. Providing excellent care and peace of mind to both of you is our utmost priority at Bay Home Care. Knowing that you live 80 miles away, we understand the importance of reliable and responsive support. Our team is always here to address any concerns beyond the scheduled visits, ensuring that your sister receives the assistance she needs promptly. It's heartening to hear that our daily calls provide an added layer of reassurance for both of you. Your recommendation means the world to us, and we're grateful for your trust in Bay Home Care. We remain committed to providing the highest standard of care and support to your sister and all our clients. We will pass on your lovely comments to all of our staff!

Most carers are adequate. Some of the younger girls could do with some proper training. All the carers are very polite and treat me with dignity. Could do with some proper rostering. It would be good if I could have a regular carer, not wondering who is next, this way you cannot develop a bond.

Reply from Jess McDonald, Co Ordinator at Bay Home Care

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your honesty and are committed to addressing your concerns to enhance your experience with our care services. We are pleased to hear that you find most of our carers to be polite and respectful, treating you with the dignity you deserve. However, we apologise if you have encountered any instances where you feel additional training is needed. Rest assured, we are committed to providing ongoing training and support to all our carers to ensure they deliver the highest standard of care. Regarding rostering, we understand the importance of consistency and appreciate your desire for a regular carer. While we strive to provide continuity of care, unforeseen circumstances such as sickness or emergencies may require last-minute changes to the roster. Despite these challenges, we make every effort to inform you promptly of any changes and ensure continuity of care to the best of our ability.

The care that Bay Home Care has been giving to my Mum since September 2023 is excellent. The carers are all very friendly and helpful. Mum enjoys talking to them about mutual acquaintances. My Mum's walking has improved no end with the exercises they make her do whilst her lunch is being prepared and
thus her overall health is better. This has meant my siblings and I have peace of mind as we all live a distance away. Thank you Bay Home Care Team!

Reply from Jess McDonald, Co Ordinator at Bay Home Care

Our friendly and helpful carers take pride in building meaningful connections with clients, and we're delighted to hear that your Mum enjoys her conversations with them. Bay Care are at present looking after my mother who is 96 and have provided most of the care needed over the last twelve months for my father.
My father died last year at the age of 98. He very much wanted to stay in his own house and this was made possible by Bay Care.
All the staff were kind, understanding
and caring and gave extra time when it was needed. They gave excellent care to my father and gave support to my mother.
I worked as a health professional myself and I greatly appreciate all that Bay Care has done for my family.

Reply from Jess McDonald, Co Ordinator at Bay Home Care

As with most of these services, the outcomes can depend very largely on the personal qualities of the carer. I have had one occasion on which I had to request a change of carer but on the whole, they are excellent.
Minor criticisms are the use of "we" when being asked a question, e.g. "Are we having
a shower?" That is insulting. There are also too many instances of carers standing around asking if there is anything else to do when there are dirty cups on the table and vegetable peelings in the sink.

Reply from Phil McDonald, Director, Manager at Bay Home Care

Thank you for your review, we are always happy to receive feedback as it helps shape our service. I am happy to see you have a good relationship with the care team and experiencing good care and support.

I appreciate the minor criticism and understand where you are coming from. As carers we do often use the term "we" as an encouraging and inclusive term when helping people with elements of their support. Often to put people at ease and build rapport, this being said we are always happy to adjust our communication around the individual and have spoke to the team.

As a manager, I was happy to see that the team ask you if you have any other tasks for them to help you with before leaving. Though I can appreciate your frustration, it isn't always obvious which tasks individuals would like the team to do and which tasks people like to do themselves. Generally, once you have indicated to the team you like a task to be done it's generally added to the care plan and done as part of the visit.

A very good firm. Staff are really nice and helpful to us all. My mother and brother are always waiting for the carers to call and like the staff and all the help given. They are always tidying up as both of them are registered blind and can make a bit of a mess. I feel they are being looked after very
well when I am not there.

Just want to thank Bay Home Care for the excellent care they provided for my late dad. From day one you made him feel at ease taking a bath etc.
You went out of your way to make sure he had everything to make him comfortable in his final days. If it wasn't for your help, he wouldn't have got his wish
to die at home. Once again, thank you all, we wish you all the very best for 2024.

Very pleased with the care my Husband has received from Bay Home Care. I needed help and all the Carers were very good with my Husband who suffers with Alzheimer's Dementia.
