Home Instead in Glasgow South is a leading private home care agency based in the Southside of Glasgow.

Home Instead covers South Glasgow, East Renfrewshire and part of South Lanarkshire. This includes the localities of Giffnock, Newton Mearns, Whitecraigs, Shawlands, Newlands, Clarkston, Thorntonhall, Busby and East Kilbride.

Care Professionals pride themselves on delivering only the highest standards of care for clients in their own homes. Home Instead is made up of local people who know and understand the area and the local community.

Care Professionals support older people so that they are able to stay in their own homes and live independently.

Why is it unique?

- Minimum of a one hour call to 24/7 care. Home Instead does not believe proper care can be provided with '15 minute calls'.

- Home Instead matches the client with the Care Professionals so that wherever possible the same Care Professional Team sees the same client.

- All staff have go through a thorough recruitment process and have detailed induction training, followed by training throughout the year.

- Home Instead specialises in dementia care and Live-in care.

Services include companionship, light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care and specialist dementia support.

Home Instead regards it as a special privilege to look after people with varying needs and conditions, with compassion and empathy.

Some clients receive two hours of housekeeping help a week, while for others 24-hour specialist dementia support is required. Others may only require help during a family break or respite period.

The services are completely adaptable and variable to suit client and family requirements.

Mum has been using the service for a couple of months now, and it is working very well with the visits providing her focus and reassurance if she needs help she knows someone will definitely be there soon. The team are delightful, friendly and chatty and Mum really looks forward to their visits, sometimes
to help with tasks but importantly to have a chat and a cup of tea with. Knowing the team are seeing Mum daily also provides us, her family, with reassurance as we all live far apart and unfortunately cannot be with Mum as much as we would like. Thank you, Team, from us all.

I searched the internet for carers within ERC. The company that drew my attention from their web page was Home Instead. I contacted the company for advice and was extremely impressed with the information I was given. The person was professional and friendly and explained fully about CareGivers. An appointment
was made with the Care Manager to come and visit mum and me with regards to setting up companionship care as carers were already in place from ERC. A lot of time was spent with mum and me in such a caring and professional manner. Unfortunately mum did not receive the companionship care as she was admitted to hospital. On her discharge, I made numerous phone calls to the Council requesting Home Instead take over mum's full care. My mum is now under the care of Home Instead and has 2 exceptional CareGivers who mum loves, their care is next to none and want to be part of the family. A big credit to the Care Manager and Recruitment Co-ordinator of the company.

Home Instead looked after my mum 5-hours a day since February. From the first contact, our wishes were the priority. One phone call and they always sorted out any changes or issues. Continuity was important, and my mum had two incredible main carers. All careers who helped out were great, and she enjoyed
a chat with different people. Communication between staff about my mum’s needs was fantastic. Home Instead kept regular contact to make sure my mum and family were happy. During the lockdown, we depend on them even more. They alerted us with concerns about my mum which were invaluable. Although the charges are not cheap, we felt the service and choices it gave us were worth it. When I phoned, no matter who I spoke to, they always knew who my mum was. Thank you, everyone

My parents had a carer from Home Instead for 9-months, both for care, company and for help in keeping the house clean and organised. Their carer was friendly, warm, kind and great company, but also meticulous and thorough when cleaning and looking after the house. She was very flexible in responding
to my parents' needs, which changed rapidly within the space of 9-months; and also gave them excellent suggestions and ideas for making things easier in the house. My brother and I felt that our parent's carer was a real ally for all of us at a difficult time, and we are very grateful for this.

This is the second time I have used Home Instead Senior Care - and I have no hesitation in recommending 'Home Instead' - after coming out of hospital - or even just having a little company in the house at nights for a little while. Both young ladies I have had are pleasant and if I can keep my eyes
open - good company and very pleasant to me. I certainly would have no hesitation recommending 'Home Instead'.

We are very pleased with the care given by Home Instead. Carers have a kind, positive attitude with genuine interest in my mother and show initiative in supporting and caring for her. There is good communication and I am informed of any concerns. I have, in the past, had some concerns about the rotation
of staff, which did cause some confusion for my mother who has vascular dementia. However, this matter has largely been addressed with consistency of carers.

The main carer provided by Home Instead looked after my mum 9 nights every fortnight. We were caring for my mum at home until she passed away. This carer was with us for approximately 3 months, during which period, my mum's health varied significantly and ultimately declined.
The carer became part
of our family's trusted team. We were caring for my mum at home and it was important to us that we built up a team we could trust.
The lady provided by Home Instead was fully committed, dedicated to the care of my mum, a good communicator with all key members of the family and focussed on keeping my mum as safe, secure and happy as possible. She developed routines with my mum which gave my mum confidence and alerted us to any concerns immediately. When the Home Instead carer was on duty, we were able to go home for sleep, knowing that mum was safe.


While the main carer was on holiday, Home Instead provided a good replacement who was also good with my mum and very kind to her.

The service I received from this organisation was outstanding. My mother took a very bad fall and was in need of emergency care. We had no idea where to turn or what to do. The manager could not have been any more helpful over the phone, sign posting me to all relevant support. We had meetings with
various care providers in our area (East Kilbride) and the meeting we had from this organisation was by far the provider of choice. The manager directed all conversation to my mum and treated her like a person. Sadly my mother's health deteriorated and there was no need for a service and still the manager called to check up on how myself and my mother were getting on.
I will be recommending this provider to others.

My Mum has been benefiting from Home Instead care for almost two years. Their systems and office staff are very professional but what makes them is the quality of their caregivers. We have had continuity from our fantastic main carer which has allowed trust and friendship to develop. On the odd occasion
when there is a different carer the quality of care has been excellent. Having used a number of care companies in the past we appreciate the importance of this quality and consistency. Our Home Instead Carer has been a huge support not only for our Mum but to our family. Her companionship, care and patience have allowed my Mum to stay in her own home and live well with Dementia.

I made an enquiry to Home Instead Glasgow due to recommendations from a family friend. From the first point of contact the first impressions lived up to their expectations, service was great and the staff were knowledgeable about different packages. I was reassured that this was the best choice for
my aunt with highly trained and passionate staff. The care manager came out to discuss different care options for my aunt at a time and place which suited me. Although I did not progress with a care package due to my aunt's health deteriorating, I would highly recommend them. Please pass my sincere thank you once again to all of the team.

Home Instead is a fantastic company and have shown nothing but professionalism since starting to provide care for my Gran in February of this year. The Caregivers are now developing quite a bond with my Gran and she looks forward to their visits. One of the appeals of this company was that they promised
continuity with regards to the number of staff visiting Gran and they have kept to their word. Any new staff have been gradually introduced to Gran and shadowing of more experienced staff has taken place. My Gran would not be able to stay in her own home without the care she receives and we, as a family, are very grateful for this.

From the first point of contact to the present day this company continue to offer the highest quality of care. My mother has benefited greatly from all staff visits and looks forward to seeing each and every one. My mother feels safe, secure and included in all aspects of her care. The staff allocated
for her visits are a small team which is of great benefit allowing continuity of care at all times.
Any query I have had has been answered promptly and nothing is a trouble to the staff.
The manager and her team should feel very proud of the huge difference made in the lives of all service users and their families.

Home Instead was a wonderful service provided to my elderly father after a short stay in respite. It was a trial that my dad had to leave a care home and return to his own home. Home Instead and all the staff provided the most amazing service for my dad. I could not fault anything that they provided.
They cooked, cleaned and cared with very high standards.
I can’t thank these people enough. They were also very kind to us as a family.

We knew it would take a while for Mum to accept and get used to having a carer.
As a family, one of our top priorities was that Mum had one carer only and that they got to know each other.
Home Instead were very good at making sure Mum had continuity of carer and at introducing an alternate for holiday
and sick days.
Mum's carer has exceeded all my expectations.
Of course, it takes a few weeks to adjust (on both sides) but Mum's carer quickly understood where everything was located, what Mum did and did not like and the best way to help her without being bossy nor patronising.
She has been patient, kind and has gone above and beyond on many occasions.
She has been great at communication with the family.
She has even developed a soft spot for Mum's ancient, blind and deaf dog!
We fully trust her to do what is best.
It is such a relief to know that important things are being taken care of/noticed and reported back to us. Most importantly Mum loves her.
We couldn't ask for more.
