Home Instead (South Lanarkshire) provides a range of home services to clients so that they can live independently in their own homes.

It provides assurances to both clients and their loved ones that they will be cared for with dignity and respect.

We have been very satisfied with the service we have received from Home Instead. Setting up the care was very straightforward. The main carer has formed a very strong bond with my husband and he very much looks forward to her visits.
Support from management has been very good and I have always been
contacted if there has been any change to our care.
It is a great relief to know that I go and visit a friend and know that my husband is in safe hands.

Home Instead has been totally reliable. The carers have all been lovely. My mum very much enjoys the company.
She loves her main carers and has a better life because of them.
She could not stay at home without this service.

My husband has a carer one evening per week to help with a shower. He is a very private man, I was a bit concerned about this, but I had no need to worry. The girl who comes in is an absolute gem, my husband (of 92 years) just loves her and is very comfortable with everything.

The caregiver responsible for my Aunt is very good and attentive. No issues whatsoever with her. Management lack good communication skills. I have had a repeat issue with your Covid policy. Different managers giving me different information. Despite twice informing management that my Aunt was isolating
because of Covid. This was not passed on to her caregiver, I had to inform her. My aunt's information was mixed up with another client. This has left me feeling anxious about the poor quality of the companies internal communication.

I do apologise for the poor communication, which was an isolated incident, which we rectified the issue, however it should not have happened in the first place. We have spoken to the member of staff who was responsible and provided her with some refresher training as she had only been with us for just over a month. Your honest feedback is welcomed and we have made improvements based on it, so thanks for that.

We have been pleased with the service provided throughout the year and even during the pandemic since 2020. The same caregivers have attended to my father. This has given him reassurance about the consistent care being provided, enabling him to stay in his own home. Staff in management and admin have
been attentive to my father’s requests to have the same caregivers where possible, and when on account annual leave this has not been so, they have intimated early any gaps in service to enable family members to cover.
In summary, we have been perfectly satisfied with the quality of care provided.

We have noticed that Mum has grown in confidence and her mobility has increased just in the two to three weeks that her companion has been coming to her house. We almost wish we have sought the help of Home Instead much earlier.

My husband and I are delighted with the care and attention given to us since we started with your firm in August of this year. My husband was very wary at the beginning as he is a very private gentleman, but he quickly settled and now just enjoys the care which is being given to him.

My mother had to go into care. I informed Home Instead who said that is fine. Someone called me a couple of weeks later for an update. I said that my mother was still in care and unlikely to come back home. I then received a bill for chargeable cancelled care. When I challenged this I was told that
the contract stated that four weeks' notice had to be given to terminate the contract. I was not told this at the point of signing the contract and was not advised this was the case when in dialogue during the cancellation process. I feel that this four-week notice period is sharp practice considering the changeable needs of elderly dementia patients.

I am sorry you had a bad experience in the final stages of your mothers care. We do highlight to all our new clients that there is a four week notice cancellation policy and it is in bold to make it easier for clients to see. I am sorry that you did not pick up on the cancellation notice period clause and as discussed on the phone we agreed to waive the four week notice period and only charge a weeks notice. The reason we charged the weeks notice is that our staff have their schedules out a week in advance and therefore we commit to paying them even when a client cancels at short notice. Again I can only apologise for your bad experience around the cancellation of the contract.

The carer who looks after my husband is lovely. She is friendly, polite and always makes sure that my husband is well cared for. There is always someone in the office if I need them. If I have any queries they are dealt with promptly. I would definitely recommend Home Instead.

My father recently returned home from hospital. The team were superb in putting a care package in place. Sadly, my father's health deteriorated but at all times the carers treated him with dignity and compassion. In his last days, they were also extremely supportive to me and my family. Although end-of-life
care may not be their core function, they did everything to support my father and our family. We are extremely grateful and I know my dad was happy to be supported by the carers he knew and loved. Thank you.

The caregivers were kind and thoughtful and brilliant with Mum who loved their company. Her flat was also kept spotless and washing was done regularly. She was well fed and it was lovely to see her come alive again - we felt she was really cared for in all senses of the word.

My mother-in-law has been receiving care for a few years. We have been really pleased with the service that has been provided. The care and attention she has received has been very good. The carers have responded to my mother-in-law's individual needs in a caring way. They are always helpful, polite
and nurturing. The management team are always really helpful when you contact them and visit the clients at home.

In 2018 my sister was being 'kept' in a nursing home against her wishes by her son. After interventions by social workers, her lawyer and her family, I contacted Home Instead. I can't thank them enough. After reviewing her health situation and factors about suitability the care manager put in place
the package to allow my sister to return home. She has now been in her own home for over a year and is happy and content.

This service has been a lifeline for my dad. He is unable to get out and about on his own, but with the assistance of the caregivers, he can go to various events/activities with them.
He enjoys the company and seems to get on with all of them. I work fulltime, so it also gives me peace of mind that
he is in capable hands.

I have found the care offered to my mother to be of a high standard, on the whole. Mum gets on well with most of the carers that come in, and they all carry out their duties to the highest of standard.
They obviously enjoy what they do and care for their clients. The only comment on the downside,
was when the rotas were changed, this caused confusion for Mum, this did settle once Mum got used to the new carers.
