Generally good, a couple of issues were raised by us which were immediately addressed and resolved. Carers generally on time, polite, efficient and professional.

My mother was cared for overnight for the last year of her life. The carers we had were very caring and considerate and we felt she was in very safe hands. They made very good suggestions when necessary to overcome situations that arose. We couldn't have managed without them.

Helping Hands Barnet have shown that they are also excellent help in emergencies. They put extra care in place on very short notice for the time necessary. And yet again confirmed to us that we have chosen the correct carers for mum.

At a very difficult time, I found Helping Hands. They arranged things very quickly, and although I have changed things slightly, they have been very accommodating. We have had the same lady each time, which means we get to know her, and she us. I can't praise them enough. Our carer is very good, very
obliging and just does whatever I ask.

The two main care workers we had both are very kind and tried their best to look after the client up to the point of his death RIP.
He was a hundred years of age, they kept up his exercises and trips to the garden and days out every day. He had major difficulties swallowing so they provided detailed
care at mealtimes and made sure he got enough thickened fluids daily. I wish to thank them both very much for all their help.
One negative I found was poor communication from the Barnet branch office, e.g. staff changed or times changed without notice, who then did not know what degree of care was required.

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

Job Title: Branch Manager

Hello! I’m Sophie, the Branch Manager for Barnet.

My responsibilities are to manage the day-to-day running of the branch - I assess customers’ needs and set up care packages, oversee schedules to ensure customers have regular carers and make sure person-centred care is always delivered. In short, I am the one accountable for the smooth running of the Barnet branch. The thing I enjoy most about my role is knowing my team and customers are happy. Nothing can beat this! I enjoy receiving outstanding feedback from our customers regarding the care they’ve received. Having been a carer myself, I enjoy sharing my first-hand experience with new carers joining the team. I also still love delivering care.

My experience and expertise

I previously worked as a Care Coordinator for three years before making the move to Helping Hands at the start of 2018. This experience allowed me to both grow as a care and helped me to gain skills in managing other people. I believe this experience has been vital to my success as a Branch Manager, as I not only understand the roles of the carers in my team but also what my customers are looking for in a care provider.I am NVQ Health and Social Care Level 3 qualified.

Why I chose Helping Hands

I decided to join Helping Hands because I wanted to be a part of a company which shares the same values and passion for care that I do. Helping Hands takes great pride in their staff and this is something I feel very passionate about. I feel honoured to be working for such a company. My team provide an excellent service to enable our customers to stay at home, remaining independent for as long as possible
