I need help with my food shopping - I am currently housebound. My carer has so far helped me on two occasions and I hope it can be arranged for her to continue to shop for me. She is punctual, smartly dressed and sensible. She knows the area where I live so knows the right shops for my needs. I
am very happy with the service I am receiving from Helping Hands.

I have seen my friend with this agency, nothing is too much trouble. I would not hesitate to recommend someone.

I had the pleasure of speaking with the manager at Helping Hands Kensington. I was after some information regarding a care booking; she was very knowledgeable and helpful in supporting me to understand the process and type of services the company provides; making it easy for me to do a booking with
her. I would not hesitate to recommend Helping Hands as an organisation of choice for anyone looking for a great standard of care.

The support we receive from Helping Hands Home Care (Kensington & Chelsea) is excellent. The staff in the office are very efficient and both they and the carers handle any issues that may arise well and exceptionally. Such as the need for hospitalisation, a GP or nursing attendance. The app that
is provided helps me greatly to monitor my relative's condition, both medically and emotionally. This is a vital tool for me as I live a long distance away. I would particularly praise the ability of the staff to "think out of the box" as this aids to ensure that my relative's needs are well attended to. I have used the Helping Hands Home Care (Kensington & Chelsea) services for many years now and I find them very capable in all circumstances, particularly as my relative's situation sadly continues to deteriorate more and more each day.

I am very satisfied with the service provided. The carers are kind and patient as they care for a very independent and at times awkward person. The management team are professional and caring, proactive and excellent at keeping me informed of events.

I have used Helping Hands Home Care (Kensington & Chelsea) since late 2018, initially to clean my father’s flat, with a view to future care if required. This month that caring role became necessary. Helping Hands Home Care (Kensington & Chelsea) now also undertakes caring duties as a replacement and
addition to overstretched local authority carers. Living eighty miles away, it is reassuring for me to know carers will now turn up on time. Six months ago I was less happy. Visits to my father after the first lockdown revealed Helping Hands Home Care (Kensington & Chelsea) standards had slipped and routines had been forgotten. A turnover of branch managers and a lack of carer continuity compounded by Covid-19 had not helped. I raised specific concerns with senior management and those concerns were addressed immediately. Helping Hands Home Care (Kensington & Chelsea) both at head office and at branch level turned the situation around. It is because of their impressive response that I asked the company to carry out additional visits and why I have no hesitation in recommending Helping Hands Home Care (Kensington & Chelsea) now. I am reassured that my father is in excellent hands.

Job Title: Branch Care Manager

About me

Hello, I'm Ify, the branch care manager for Kensington & Chelsea.

I manage the day-to-day activities of the branch, ensuring the smooth running of the K&C branch, as we like to call it.

I am passionate about people remaining at home for as long as it's practically possible. I strongly believe that my customers being involved and at the centre of the creation of their support plan plus the flexibility we provide promotes their independence, as well as improves their physical and mental health.

And my team ensure that all of our customers have a needs and risk assessment carried out in their home, with the involvement of those that have their best interests at heart present, where possible. This ensures that we are able to capture the preferences and choices of the customers, thereby providing care that is person-centred and unique to the individual.

When I get the time to unwind I love spending time with my friends and family. I enjoy all genres of music depending on my mood and I love humour and laughing, so a good comedy is right up my street.
I also enjoy going to the theatre, and cinema, cooking, and watching tennis.

Experience and expertise

I have over 22 years of experience in the health and social care sector.

I started as a carer, then a Care Coordinator, Deputy Branch Manager, Workforce Development Manager and then a Registered Manager.

I still go out in the field and provide care to my customers now and again because caring for others is my passion, which I still find fulfilling and rewarding.

I have many qualifications including an NVQ level 4 in Health and Social care, Train the Trainer certification and other qualifications in Economics, Business Management and Customer Services.

Over the years I have met and worked with so many people from different backgrounds and different needs.

Why I chose Helping Hands

I chose to join Helping Hands because of the company's Core Values, the most important being kindness. Kindness to the customers, employees, work colleagues and visitors.

Helping Hands also have a great support system and push to empower all its employees, which is quite refreshing.
I believe that empowerment and knowledge give confidence to the staff, and promote efficiency and the quality of the service we provide.
