When my Mum needed additional support with my Dad (93) after a series of falls and a diagnosis of heart failure, I had no hesitation in contacting Helping Hands ( Bury). They had come highly recommended to me by several friends with elderly parents and they certainly didn't disappoint. Carers came twice
a day- in the morning to help my Dad out of bed and to wash/shower him, and in the evening to put him to bed. Thanks to this service we were able to keep him at home for longer.
All the Helping Hands carers treated my Dad with kindness, compassion, dignity and good humour. They were always punctual and professional. Moreover, we got frequent phone calls from the office to check things were running smoothly. We cannot thank all the carers and office staff enough for their service. Helping Hands has been described to me as the crème de la crème of the caring world, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Helping Hands were the third care provider we used. We found them to be far more reliable and professional than we'd been used to, which was a huge relief to me. I live 100 miles from my dad, who has dementia, and needed to be able to fully trust the carers, rather than be experiencing the constant
'blips' in the care which had been happening before.
With more consistent care, I knew that my dad was seeing people who had become familiar with him and understood his needs really well. I felt that they became very fond of him, and used a lot of humour and the kind of banter that he really enjoyed.
The management staff were also excellent, responding quickly to any questions and showing empathy when I was stressed and overwhelmed.
Dad has now moved to a care home, but I'm very grateful that Helping Hands were there for his last few months at home. I would recommend them wholeheartedly.

I was very pleased with the service and would definitely recommend Helping Hands. The carers were a great help and carried out tasks with professionalism and empathy. I was in need of help for a short period as I was recovering from an illness, over that time I received several different carers, I found
them all to be friendly and hard-working. My husband was out at work all day, leaving me with long days, trying to manage while physically weak and tired. It became very reassuring to know I would have help arriving each day for a couple of hours. I felt well looked after and all my needs were met, thank you ladies, I really appreciated your help.

Mum had carers from Helping Hands for 2.5years. Over this period of time, the hours were increased and altered as Mum's needs changed and as my sister and I needed it - including a couple of 4-day breaks. The office staff are very approachable and adapted Mum's care package as needed. Mum's care plans
were reviewed regularly, but personal, and medication changes could be altered at short notice.
Carers became part of an extended family - providing Mum with love and laughter, as well as practical support. We could leave Mum and have our time, knowing she would be well looked after. In the last few months of Mum's life, we were lucky enough to be able to have the same four carers - this provided excellent continuity of care.
We would not have been able to keep mum at home without this support. Thank you.

Helping Hands Home Care (Bury) have gone above and beyond to support my family. We are currently going through a very difficult time and have found them to be on hand at every request. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the office team.
They have all been very supportive and have listened when I
have needed to have a cry.
They have made the whole journey for our family, much easier. The carers are amazing too. Always pleasant and happy to go above and beyond.

Job Title: Branch Care Manager

About me

My responsibilities and values are to ensure that we deliver person-centred care for all individuals, to ensure that everyone involved in our service feels valued,

I have over 14 years of experience and have a wide range of experience within different sectors of Healthcare. My heart has always been within the care sector. I began working for Helping Hands after losing my father in 2020. I wanted to be a part of a company that stands out, has positive impacts on people's lives and enables people to live comfortably in their own homes. A company that is person-centred and truly values the customers. Helping Hands has a great structure and support network. The passion shines through from each and every staff member within the company and this shows in the high quality care we provide to our customers.

I am very passionate about my job and like to go the extra mile. When I am not working I love to spend time with my family, making memories with my husband and children.

Experience and expertise

I started working in Healthcare at the age of 22. I have experience working in neuro-rehabilitation for acquired brain injury, I then moved on to work in palliative care, providing my patients with end-of-life care and then I worked with children and young adults who had complex and clinical healthcare needs.

Following this, I worked as a special needs Teaching Assistant for several years before returning to the care sector after losing my father to Motor Neuron Disease in 2020.

Why I chose Helping Hands

Helping Hands' foundation is kindness. This intrigued me. I read the exceptional reviews from both customers and staff and wanted to be a part of a team of people who provide exceptional, person-centred care. Who treat each person as an individual and who allow everyone to have a voice.

I absolutely love working for Helping Hands. The support provided to both customers and staff is like no other. From the minute you walk through the door, you feel like part of a family.
