Extremely friendly carers who were efficient and helpful. The service was appreciated, especially the fact that it was organised at short notice. The staff were reliable and polite and did what was needed.

Job Title: Branch Care Manager

About me

At Helping Hands Bristol, my main role is to ensure that we provide high-quality care and safe service. I ensure the branch runs smoothly day-to-day and both the customers and carers are happy.
I have always been around others who care growing up, as most of my family have worked in some part of the care sector and believed it was my calling. I would care for my Grandad from the age of 15 and found my passion to help others. I started as a carer in 2014 and grew through the job roles.
At Helping Hands we have great values and always ensure we provide a high-quality service for our customers, with person-centred support plans to ensure our customers receive the best service that they deserve. Our care team in Bristol is made up of a diverse, inspirational team, empathetic and supportive to our customers.
In my spare time, I thoroughly enjoy travelling, a bit of shopping and lunching with friends. I enjoy music and have been roped into singing at events and family functions from time to time.

Experience and expertise

I have worked in the care sector since 2014. I started off as a domiciliary carer in the Weston-Super-Mare area and was then offered a position within the same company to become a field care supervisor. I was then promoted to care coordinator where I really learnt about the care sector and the small details. I then decided I would like a change in role and worked for a live-in care company where I become a care manager and covered the southwest of the country, and Wales. I then decided it was time to make the leap back to visiting care where I am as the registered manager of Helping Hands Bristol.
I have a a Level 3 diploma in performing arts, as well as another two level 3 qualifications in pub management and health and social care. I am currently undertaking my level 5 in leadership and management.

Why I chose Helping Hands

I joined Helping Hands as I found their values really matched mine. I wanted to work for a company whose focus was to keep customers in their own homes in a safe environment and work with those who were like-minded. I heard great things from ex-colleagues who had come to work at Helping Hands and was excited to become part of the team.
We want to be able to establish a big connection within the City of Bristol and shout Helping Hands from the rooftops. There are so many customers who require care and want to stay in their own homes and we very much want this. We want to grow our pool of carers which we are doing monthly and to have a great work environment - showing carers how special they truly are.
I love that I have the support of a great team and management to allow us to provide a high-quality service to those who truly deserve and need our support.
