Mum has been receiving care visits over the last 18 months and overall the service provided has been very good. Initially it was just once a day but our need to increase to twice a day as well as varying the times was readily accommodated.
Her Rota included regular carers which was reassuring that
it wasn't frequent new faces for mum to get familiar with. They were all very understanding of mum's needs and as well as dealing with the necessary household tasks they provided a degree of companionship/friendship as well.
Communication with carers and the office has been good and any concerns/changes were immediately notified.
Regular monitoring and updating of her care plan also took place.

Very happy with the service. All carers and office staff communicate with family over any concerns. Professional, friendly staff who always arrive at given times and we are always informed if carers are running late. Overall a very satisfied customer with the service Right At Home delivers. I have been using RAH for about 2 years. I couldn't in the early days have managed without them, three times a day. Now reduced to two a day.
Pity they are so horrendously expensive. A shame I see so many different faces.

The care provided for my mother by Right at Home over the years has been exemplary at all times. The management stepped up immediately if we had additional or varying needs and was always flexible and always prompt with guidance and advice, and putting what was needed in place. Most importantly Right
at Home was able to ensure regular carers who were professional and empathetic and who became friends, not just care providers.

Right at Home has provided daily care for my mother for the past 5 years.
Mum forged friendships with a number of the carers and the management did an amazing job of maintaining continuity wherever possible. All the staff were very patient and caring and also always punctual.
Most importantly, the
team made it possible for Mum to continue living independently, which meant the world to her!
Not living close by, Right at Home gave me peace of mind that Mum was well looked after.

The care that Right at Home has provided for Mum over the last few years has been exceptional. They are a such professional team, extremely reliable, providing regular reviews and always on hand if you need to contact them. I cannot speak highly enough of the carers that Mum has had, not only the care
she has received but also the support, friendship and companionship that comes with it. I can't thank you enough.

For 3 years until his death in February we used Right at Home's services to give personal care to my bedbound husband. The care given to him was exemplary. Carers made him feel at ease, were always friendly and treated him with respect and dignity. From the moment they started providing care, all involved
exhibited the utmost professionalism and kindness. They took the time to understand his specific needs, and it was clear that they genuinely cared about his well-being. They came to feel like friends. Another outstanding area was the reliability. Never having to worry about whether carers would turn up. The office would phone to advise of any delays or changes. This peace of mind was invaluable. I would certainly recommend their excellent services.

Thank you for such a lovely review Jenny. It truly was a privilege to work alongside you to best meet the care needs of your husband. We feel that we have lost a member of our Right at Home family now that we no longer get to work with you. We wish you all the very best Jenny and do stay in touch with us.

I contacted Right at Home after finding them in the care services directory and subsequent research. From initial assessment all the way through my mam's short period of care to the last contact with this wonderful group of people I found the whole service exemplary. All the staff treated Mam with dignity
and respect and even took the time to research her music preferences to sing with her as well as find out about her working life to enable two-way discussions, nothing was too much trouble. The care manager was very kind and accommodating; visits were adjusted, care needs were reassessed as Mam's health deteriorated and the whole service provided was professional throughout. Sadly my mam passed away after a few short weeks but it brings me comfort to know that she was looked after so well by such an amazing team of individuals. I have no hesitation in recommending 'Right at Home' to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

Reply from Sam Wright, Managing Director at Right at Home (High Wycombe & District)

Thank you for your kind words Gillian and for taking the time to submit a review of our services. Whilst we only got the opportunity to provide short-term support for your mam, we are honoured to hear that it made such a difference to Mam and such a comfort to you too. We will share your lovely feedback with the team. Thank you.

We have used Right at Home for 2 and a half years and have been very happy with the service. The carers are exactly that and were really good with my son. They did everything they could to make the experience a good one, making him laugh and really looking after him.

Reply from Danny O'Reilly, General Manager at Right at Home (High Wycombe & District)

It is wonderful to learn that the work of our care team in supporting your son has been of the desired standard. We have become very familiar with his passion for Arsenal football club and all things Lifeboat related. I am told he was delighted with the Lifeboat fridge magnet that one of the care team bought him during her holiday to the coast. Thank you for your review of our care services, this will undoubtedly be useful to other families.

Over the past four months, following a hip replacement surgery, I have been using Right at Home services. At first three times a day, gradually reducing to now I am independent. At all times, the carers were totally reliable, caring, professional and felt like dear friends. I cannot speak too highly
of all the staff, whether on the phone or during visits.

Reply from Danny O'Reilly, General Manager at Right at Home (High Wycombe & District)

It has been our pleasure to support you post-operatively and we are honoured to have played a part in getting you back to full independence swiftly. I know that you are once again using our care services as you recover from your second hip replacement. I am sure it will not be too much longer before one of our team bumps into you again in the supermarket as you regain your pre-operation independence, once more. Thank you for taking the time to review the care and support we have provided.

We first started using Right at Home in July 21, following a recommendation from a family friend after our mother was discharged from the hospital. Initially, care was provided three times a day, and from the outset, the care and attention to detail were truly outstanding.
Over a period of time, our
mother's health gradually deteriorated, although, at every stage, there were regular discussions with the family in respect of her well-being and positive suggestions to decide what should happen next with the excellent management team.
Extra days and visits, including the preparation of meals, were arranged seamlessly with a strict regime to administer the correct medication in place at all times.
Our mother wished to stay at home in the last few weeks of her life, and this was also handled in such a caring and professional manner with empathy and dignity that the family could not have wished for better end-of-life care.
Do not look anywhere else. Would highly recommend this company.

Reply from Danny O'Reilly, General Manager at Right at Home (High Wycombe & District)

Dear Steve, it has been a pleasure to care for your mother and support her wider family over the last 18 months. We know how much she enjoyed her garden and in particular the very unusually marked pigeons that would flock to her bird feeder day after day which she took great pleasure observing from her lounge. Your very kind words on the support we delivered to your mother will be fed back to all of the team that cared for her. Thank you.

When we were looking for care for my dad and stepmom, we used a website and looked at the reviews, Right at Home had excellent ratings. We were not disappointed in choosing them as they are so dedicated and caring and went above and beyond to make sure my parents had the best care. One of the things
for me that stands out is if I had a problem and called up, I could speak to anyone in the office, and they would sort it out. I would always recommend Right at Home.

Reply from Danny O'Reilly, General Manager at Right at Home (High Wycombe & District)

Dear John, it has been a delight to visit your parent's home over the last 3 years, initially to support your stepmother and more recently to focus solely on your father. The care team regularly reported back on his impeccable politeness and great humour. It is fantastic to know that both our caregivers and office team have been able to offer your family the desired level of service.

We initially contacted Right at Home when my mum-in-law was to be discharged from hospital. They acted promptly and efficiently, visiting her in hospital and then her home, to make sure all necessary needs could be covered. When she was discharged, carers came to assist her, always with efficiency and
dignity. They always arrived on time and stayed for the specified time allocated, nothing was ever refused, if they were asked. Carers were always quick to respond if they felt the family needed to know anything, by reporting back to the office and we were contacted. Everything was done in a very satisfactory way - we couldn't fault them. They continued to visit daily, usually twice a day, but sometimes three times for nearly three years, even through the difficult Covid times, keeping her safe when even family couldn't see her. In September this year, it was decided for Mum-in-law to reluctantly leave her home to move to a care home. They supported us with this and we are very grateful to them.

Reply from Danny O'Reilly, General Manager at Right at Home (High Wycombe & District)

Thank you for these kind words. Whilst we are obviously very pleased that the service your family received from Right at Home met your needs, we are even more pleased to learn that your mother-in-law is getting fully involved in day-to-day life at her new care home. Hopefully, she is still able to get her very own copy of the weekly TV guide that she used to look forward to our care team collecting for her.

Just before Christmas 2021, it became apparent that my mum, who lived alone, was in need of help with certain aspects of her daily life. With the help of my daughter, we decided to contact Right at Home and subsequently arranged a visit to my mum's home to discuss her needs. I was immediately impressed
by the professionalism of the lady that we met that day. Right at Home began regular visits to Mum to provide breakfast, a hot meal at lunchtime as well as a tea-time visit in the early evening. All of the carers that I managed to meet were friendly and knowledgeable and even helped with laundry, administering her medication and also such tasks as washing herself, showers etc and helping to dress in the morning and for bed.
They would also contact me if they felt that there was a problem or something that bothered them. On one occasion the lady carer visiting arrived to find that Mum had fallen. She happily stayed behind with me until an ambulance arrived. I recommend them.

Reply from Danny O'Reilly, General Manager at Right at Home (High Wycombe & District)

It is so pleasing to read that our care team was able to have a positive impact on your mother’s day-to-day life. As I type, (the lady you first met) is recounting stories of your mother’s superb sense of humour and her steadfast determination to live independently, all be it with a little support. I have also been told of the beautiful, knitted dolls she used to make and adorned her house which you and your family will no doubt now cherish. Thank you for your kind words. They will be shared with the wider team.

We are really happy with Right at Home. It is so good to be able to rely on carers coming at the time stated and staying for the full time - not what we experienced when using other companies...we have regular carers who are now really familiar with the household and who often seem more like friends
than carers. The care is carried out professionally and with genuine care. Also, I've been grateful when carers have drawn my attention to any concerns such as slight sores or swelling.
Throughout the Covid problems, the company has managed to provide great care always adhering to government guidelines regarding PPE etc.
Right at Home have also been helpful arranging live-in respite care to cover carer breaks on several occasions, allowing continuity of care and for me, the carer, confidence in my husband's care so I can really have a good break. We highly recommend the company.

Reply from Danny O'Reilly, General Manager at Right at Home (High Wycombe & District)

Thank you so much for your kind words. We have been visiting your home for several years now and it was my belief that the care team and office team have built a good relationship with you and your husband, which your generous words seem to support. I am really pleased that our services currently meet all of your needs.

We contacted Right at Home in July 2020 having read excellent reports at the standard of their care. We needed Care for our 94-year-old aunt who wanted to stay at home and live with her cat (Polly). Immediately Right at Home came up with a Care Plan to provide four visits a day starting with getting
my aunt washed dressed and breakfast, a lunchtime visit and provide lunch, a teatime visit and an evening visit to put my aunt to bed and ensure her safety. My aunt was also a diabetic and they paid careful attention to her diet needs. Their care was consistent and meticulous care was given during the pandemic. They did her weekly shop and took such an interest that some of the carers cooked her favourite dishes, froze some of these dishes for everyday use and met her every need. My aunt thrived on their care and looked forward to their visits. For us, as relatives who lived a distance away, this was a great consolation.

Reply from Danny O'Reilly, General Manager at Right at Home (High Wycombe & District)

Dear Robin, thank you for proving us with the opportunity to support your aunt to continue living at home well into her 90s. Both she and (Polly) the cat will be missed by the care team. Everyone in our office was also aware of how fond she was of cats, and I hear she was delighted with the cat print apron the team got her. I do hope that we have been able to reduce the anguish you and your family could have felt having a frail relative living alone some distance from you. I am really pleased that our services have lived up to the reports you read prior to engaging with us. Thank you, Robin.

The caters were extremely helpful and understanding. Assisted my mother with eating, taking her medication, generally cheering her up at every visit.
Even dropping her off at lunches, waiting while ambulances arrived.
Couldn’t fault their attention also responding to changes of care requirements as
quickly as possible.
Would recommend to anyone who needs home care.

Reply from Danny O'Reilly, General Manager at Right at Home (High Wycombe & District)

We have very much enjoyed looking after your mother. It is inspiring that she has remained so chatty and sociable well into her 90s. I know many of our team will miss painting her nails and enjoying her flowers and garden with her. We hope that she quickly makes friends in her new surroundings and there is also a garden for her to relax in, weather permitting. Thank you for this kind and generous review of our services.

We couldn't have chosen a better company than Right at Home. They were easily approachable, fully involved in making my father's life in his flat as comfortable as possible, engaging with him and his family every step of the way, motivating him to pursue a social life, and making sure he was enjoying
a nutritious diet. During such difficult times, with the pandemic, they took every precaution to protect him from infection, and their visits were crucial to his mental wellbeing. The carers showed they truly enjoyed his company by singing and playing his favourite music and chatting with him about his long and eventful life. Several staff members of Right at Home visited him when he spent his last few weeks of life in a care home and they also attended his funeral. We will never forget the kindness they showed.

Reply from Danny O'Reilly, General Manager at Right at Home (High Wycombe & District)

I am sincerely pleased that you feel our Care Team was able to support your father positively in so many aspects of his life. It is apt that you mention his love of music as I recently overheard two of our team talking fondly of the delightful footage we have of him playing the Ukulele for one of his Caregivers. I believe that those Caregivers who were lucky enough to regularly visit your father at home will never forget him. Thank you very much for these generous words.

Right at Home provided excellent care for my father over a period of 15 months.
Right from the start the level of care he received was brilliant and he felt very safe with them and they always showed much kindness towards him and met all of his needs. As a family we appreciated all their efforts in
such difficult times .

Reply from Danny O'Reilly, General Manager at Right at Home (High Wycombe & District)

Dear Shirley,
We are thankful for being given the opportunity to support your father to live independently in his own home following his stay in residential care. He knew the names of all of his Caregivers and they have talked about his fantastic humour and wit, as well as enjoying a regular sing-song with him or joining him on walks around the complex. I am delighted that we made him feel safe and really cared for.

As a qualified Accountant, for over 10 years I had a successful career, but I rarely felt that I added value to the lives of others, like I had in my teenage years. It was not until the birth of my son, Felix that I had some time away from my career and became a full-time carer to him, that I felt it was time for a change.

At the age of 15, I started working weekends and school holidays at a residential care home as a domestic support to the weekend carers. I became a carer almost as soon as I turned 16 and continued to work weekends and school holidays for another 6 years until I graduated and moved away from the area to embark on a career in Finance. During these years, I cared for many residents requiring various levels of support and built strong relationships along the way. With such a high level of job satisfaction, I always loved my job and would take as many shifts as I could – even on Christmas Day!

However, one of the most common, and distressing elements of this job was the reluctance of new residents who came to live in the home. I do not recall one person that wanted to leave their own home, even if they accepted it was in their best interests in order to get the care and support that they needed.

It is for this reason that I am so passionate about being able to offer an alternative to residential care. I am not just proud to be building my own business but also proud to deliver my own vision of providing the right care, the right way and at the right time for our clients. In doing so we will be able to make a real difference to the lives of others, by supporting people to maintain independence, offer choice and enhance quality of life.

In my spare time, I love to get out into the fresh air and countryside and take long walks with my family and Cocktail, our little sausage dog. He may only have short legs but he will walk for miles, so long as it’s not raining!

I have grown up in South Buckinghamshire and was born just a few miles away from our office at the now demolished Canadian Red Cross Hospital at Cliveden. I also attended Bucks New University in High Wycombe, earning a BA Hons in Leisure and Business Management.

The majority of my working life has been spent in Travel, Leisure and Hospitality with a good proportion of this time overseas, running Holiday Resorts for Thomas Cook across the Mediterranean, as well as at various UK coastal locations operating Holiday Caravan Parks.
Within my professional career, I have ensured that the teams I led focused on delivering first class service to guests and clients. Whilst in everyday life I have found satisfaction in helping people, particularly the vulnerable and less able.

In 2005 following the death of my Grandad, my 87 year old Nan, who had quite advanced dementia, came to live with us at the family home in Burnham. Grandad had been Nan’s full time carer and this responsibility was taken on by my mum, with a degree of support from the rest of the family. During this time, I began to think about the countless elderly people who needed the same level of care as my Nan but did not have a close family able or willing to take this on.

I suspect that subconsciously the time my Nan spent living with us was formative in spurring me on to open a business in the care sector. A particular area I would like Right at Home High Wycombe to have a positive impact towards is overcoming loneliness and social isolation amongst our elderly. This affects millions across the country, and is highlighted in the saddening statistic that 3.9 million older people see the television as their main company.

Varying in age from 20 to 73 years old, some of our care team have spent their whole career in Social/Clinical care whilst others are just starting out having worked in other sectors. We also have a few team members that are currently at University studying care-related courses such as nursing and midwifery.

Many of our team enjoy working full-time whilst others choose to work part-time, evenings or weekends. The one thing they all have in common is the desire, commitment and compassion to assist local, elderly people to live independently within their own home.

The personal interests of our care team are broad and wide, including: dog grooming, teaching Spanish, attending the local church, photography, volunteering at a cat charity, writing short stories and playing musical instruments At least two members of our care team have 4 children and one has 6 children so they almost certainly have no time for any hobbies.

Why our team enjoy working as CareGivers:

“RaH are a brilliant company, they give us 100% backup and support. For me it’s a vocation not a job at all. Love it.”

“RaH are a family. The staff and management are so supportive of each other and the quality of care is 100%. By far, RaH is the best company I have ever worked for I am lucky to be part of such an amazing team.”

“I am surrounded by a successful and caring company who make me feel valued, who are always 100% committed to their staff and clients.”

“RaH is a family-orientated company. There is an open door policy with management. Both management and staff are very supportive.”
