Home Instead has been a Godsend to our family. Our elderly father lives on his own and wasn't coping. He has front lobe brain damage and can be difficult. He was also very resistant to the idea of having any help but after agreeing to a one month trial (suggested by Home Instead) he has been completely
won over and really likes his carer. I have been very impressed by how much effort Home Instead put into finding the right person for my father, inquiring about his interests and hobbies. They are also happy to help with hospital appointments etc. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Worth every penny and a lot cheaper than a care home.

The Caregivers were very experienced and professional during the challenging waking nights with my Father. His physical and emotional needs are complex and they treated him with respect and patience. Thank you.

I am extremely pleased with the care my father is receiving from the carers of Home Instead, in the Yeovil area. In a short space of time they have made a wonderful difference to his quality of life. He looks forward to their visits, he's visibly happier, laughing and cheerfully engaging in conversation,
whereas before their support, he was struggling with life and that became his focus. The change is so good to see and gives us peace of mind when we can't be there. The carers make lovely meals with fresh vegetables, are very reliable but above all they have built a trusting relationship with dad.

We use two care companies to care for our mother who is in her eighties, has severely restricted mobility, and lives at home by herself. One care company manages personal care for our mother with two visits daily; Home Instead provides a companionship service to our mother enabling her to attend a local
lunch club, once a week. From the outset, I was struck by the level of personal attention that Home Instead provides to its clients and their families.
This genuine care and professionalism has been maintained throughout our dealings with Home Instead and the time taken by Home Instead to find a carer with whom our mother would find some 'common ground' has paid dividends, with our mother really looking forward to this outing, every week. The support of the excellent carer from Home Instead has encouraged and enabled our mother to go out and make new friends locally, and this experience has made a significant difference to her quality of life.

Truly outstanding, from Management’s co-ordination of care tailored to the client’s needs to the hands-on support given by the caregivers. They will do anything to help, however messy or inconvenient (including offering advice whilst off-duty). Highly responsive, they quickly adapted to constantly changing
needs, thinking of ways to help fulfil our father’s wish to die at home with family. Everyone is exceptionally competent and genuinely caring. With different levels of experience, from one just 18 on her first assignment to others with years of expertise, all have a vital sense of humour! They kept in close contact with us throughout. Dad really trusted them. Humbled by what they do and who they are, we cannot thank Home Instead enough for shepherding us through. These are very special, extremely hardworking people helping to provide a solution to the problem of hospital bed-blocking by enabling dignified death at home. I hope the healthcare system recognises them for this critical work.

The general level of help has been extremely good but what has stood out for me is the extra lengths that my mother's carer and the management team went to when my mother was admitted to hospital - that was really exceptional.

The experience of care with Home Instead has been so very helpful at a very difficult time for me and for my husband. The carers have, without exception, been very helpful and caring and particularly patient (especially during the night). They have all been very adaptable, coping also with our cocker
spaniel, walking him and feeding him. A thoroughly pleasant experience and a company I would recommend.

We used Home Instead (Yeovil) when my mother (84 years) needed some short-term support, at very short notice. Throughout the period of support, we had two care providers who were superb, liaised between themselves so that there was never confusion over any aspect of the care delivered (which was fantastic).
Having the same carers all the time was very important to my mother, who came to view them as friends! And for me, the quality of the carers and their ability to look after my mother compassionately was equally important
One morning, they found my mother unwell, took her, firstly to her GP and then to A&E, where they stayed with her throughout and brought her home, having alerted me to the situation. Truly exceptional care considering I am sure they had 101 other things to be doing. Their focus on the wellbeing of my mother was very reassuring.
Despite all the snow we had in March, they never missed an appointment, even if it meant walking to the house. Fantastic people.

I cannot rate Home Instead highly enough. They came to our aid at a very upsetting and stressful time during the Christmas period, when our father and his partner needed urgent help due to a fall. The level of care and understanding was second to none and the caregivers certainly went the extra mile
to ensure the help required was carried out to a very high standard.
Our only regret was that we were unable to continue using them due to circumstances beyond our control. My sister and I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to engage a caring and highly professional care team.

This is my first experience of care at home and I am very satisfied. The pre-care interview was friendly and thorough and the person they found is congenial and interesting to talk to and most efficient in everything she does. I like her and we get on well. Thank you.

I contacted "Home Instead Senior Care (Yeovil, Sherborne & Bridport)" between Christmas and New Year 2017 as my elderly father needed help in a hurry. Care at home had not been needed before. "Home Instead" made the process as simple as possible. We were given what we needed efficiently and with an
appropriate understanding of his needs and that of his family. From our initial enquiry to the first care session took a matter of days, and the process felt easy and stress-free.
Since then, the care my father has received has been faultless. He lives with dementia but I feel he is comfortable with his caregivers and has become used to this new situation with minimum anxiety. The number of caregivers is limited to one or two people which helps my fathers condition. Short-term crisis' has been handled with compassion and I have really appreciated the close contact I have with the caregivers. "Home Instead" has also been very sensitive to the needs of my fathers' partner as she adapts to a new way of living.

My caregivers were both very friendly and professional in their approach and attitude towards me, as was the manager who saw me on Christmas Day.

The director, who came to my home for the initial home assessment, was very polite and professional and carefully gave me all the options available to

me allowing me to make a decision personal to me.
I have been very pleased with the service provided.

Home Instead has impressed us all with their real desire to support and care and their flexible and relaxed attitude. Nothing is too much trouble and they always provide consistent carers who genuinely like and want to be with my elderly parents. They understand the need for real companionship as well
as supplying all the professional support for personal hygiene and home care. We look forward to them coming into our house, and I would thoroughly recommend them.

Hi - I'm Rebecca and I am a co-director (with Mark) of Home Instead Yeovil, Sherborne and Bridport. I am a qualified GP (working in the South Somerset area) and believe that this puts me in an excellent position to lead a company that delivers bespoke client-centred care. I live in a hamlet near Martock with my young family.

The Yeovil office was established by my late husband Ashley Gray; he was passionate about delivering top-quality care to people in their own homes, supporting them to maintain their independence if they wished to do so. Fundamental to the business are the principles of empathy, respect, value in service and continuous learning. Ashley was a great believer in the power of relationships to enrich and transform lives. He derived energy from being around other people and recognised the huge benefit that human interaction can have on an individual’s sense of well-being. I very much hope to build on the foundations that Ashley created and embed Home Instead as the most trusted home-care company in the locality.

Mark and I have a wonderful office team around us to support our vision to grow the business without compromising on quality. We have lots of exciting plans and ideas to help us attain our goal of being able to provide the best care to more people. I feel very privileged to be part of a business that has fabulous Care Professionals who are resolutely dedicated to our lovely clients and are all prepared to go the extra mile.

Although I am not from Somerset originally, I love living here; it feels like home. Away from work, I enjoy riding, running and meeting friends. Having three very active boys, we spend a lot of time outdoors, making the most of the beautiful countryside.

I have been a GP in the Somerset and Dorset area for 25 years. When not at work I love sport and have recently completed an ultramarathon (never again). I enjoy spending time walking, reading and with the family outside of sport and work. The profile picture was taken by one of my 3 year old twins to post on the website.

We are a local employer and feel a part of the local community both as an employer but crucially in providing care for clients in South Somerset & Dorset.

Having Doctors, Nurses and Caregivers in our team allow us to provide the highest quality of person-centred care, whilst having the knowledge to judge when extra support and onward referral is necessary. This is always underpinned by our ambition of maintaining a client’s independence, enabling people to stay in their own homes wherever possible.

I believe the prioritization of time we give to our clients builds the space for empathy and enjoyment of social interaction. This allows us to create relationships that are based on an individual’s personal interests as well as their needs. It is only through taking the time to truly understand an individual, that we are equipped with the detail to deliver a bespoke service. These elements have been critical in my clinical practice and inform our ethos at Home Instead. Some of my feelings have been shaped by looking after both my parents who suffer from dementia and are cared for at home by a dedicated team (including my brother and I). My focus is on providing care that I would be happy for my Mum and Dad to enjoy.
