My mother seems to be doing well under their care. She doesn't show any distress or annoyance at having the carers come to see her so that is a good sign as my mum would be very vocal in her disdain if there were issues.

I am so pleased to have changed to Home Instead as they are so helpful and kind and do their best to give the care my husband needs. The carer who comes takes such good care of my husband and is very helpful to me if I need something doing. He is always on time and comes at the same time each visit.

Home Instead have been brilliant for my Mum over the last 2 plus years. There is no doubt that her well being has improved since they started taking care of her and I fear she wouldn't have been able to stay in her own home without them. The staff are excellent and even during the pandemic and the industry
wide recruitment challenges, they've never missed a visit and the quality of the staff has remained first class.
As she's got older and more set in her ways Mum can be very difficult to help. They have always been very patient with her despite what can be quite unreasonable behaviour from her at times. The carers have made it easy for her to be more accepting of the need and tailored the ways they do things to best suit her, as best as anyone could.
As a family we all rate Home Instead very highly.

I am thrilled with the service Home Instead provides. The caregivers are extremely attentive and considerate, respecting and valuing mum as an individual. The organisation is efficient and reliable which is essential when caring for the elderly.
Mum knows the few regular carergivers and this means
she feels safe. The caregivers are experienced, competent and kind.
Following illness we have been able to increase the number of visits as needed, and then return to our regular pattern as mum has regained strength. This has been very valuable to Mum and to us as a family.

Home Instead took over the care of my dad in March this year after a few difficult months of trying to cover his needs. My dad has had care needs for several years, covered by a number of companies, all of whom have done a good job looking after him. Sadly, at 96, he passed away recently, but I have
to say the care Home Instead provided was exceptional and probably the best he had during his final years - saved the best until last, as they say! Living a distance away, knowing Dad was being well cared for, was of huge importance to me. I cannot fault the caregivers - a bunch of wonderful people - for communication and help with any issue that was dealt with quickly and professionally. I was always kept informed of any problem, and they did their utmost to help in any way. The caregivers responded so well to my dad's needs and personality, even celebrating his 96th Birthday, as I couldn't be there. My thanks to everyone at Home Instead, Dawlish, for looking after my dad so well in his final few months.

When I have visited my friend it is always a last-minute decision, as I am usually very busy, and where I can see spare hour I give her a ring and say would you like to have a chat. I am always greeted by the carer. She shows me into the room where my friend is usually resting. The house is always spotless.
You feel most welcomed, and nothing is too much trouble. My friend cannot speak too highly of the wonderful care and attention she gets. She often tells me that it would be impossible for her to stay in her home, if it was not for the care she gets from the home provider. The carer will always leave us to have our chat alone, and now and again she will call out cup of tea anyone. It. Is always a home from home service. Well done!

My mother has a daily morning visit to get her ready for the day. The carer also checks the diary with her and helps Mum with any household requirements she has. This visit is very important as the rest of the family live a considerable distance away and therefore rely on this daily contact to identify
any problems and contact us as necessary.
Home Instead have cared for both my parents for a number of years and have never failed to turn up. This is very reassuring. If we have any questions, the management team are always available to help.
My mother has two afternoon social visits each week during which she has the freedom to choose what she wants to do. This includes shopping, visits to the garden centre, trips to local beauty spots or to see the sea. She really enjoys the company and conversation.
Overall an excellent service, exceptional staff and always reliable.

The best test of a service is what happens when things go wrong. My mother had a number of incidents during her period of care with Home Instead (West Exeter & Teignbridge) and these were dealt with professionally and smoothly. The care givers were excellent in their service and showed great patience
and professionalism when situations became a bit testing.
Thoroughly pleased with all aspects of the service.

My elderly mother needed personal care to stay in her own home. The ladies who provided this were always caring and helpful; they became her friends. She looked forward to their visits and chatter. The office staff were equally obliging and always managed any change to the routine without hesitation.

The carers from Home Instead were kind, warm and patient with my Dad. They went above and beyond in many ways over the almost 2 years they visited Dad. During the last few weeks of his life, they were so gentle and patient and encouraged him to get as much out of each day as he could and sat beside
him and just kept him company when he could no longer eat or get out of bed. I would recommend them to anyone and thank the carers and the people I’ve met and spoken to in the office who were always kind and helpful.

The usual care package which is in place for Dad is always very good, being friendly, professional and reliable. However, January was a particularly difficult and unpredictable month for Dad and Home Instead were exemplary in their support of him - and me!
Overnight carers were quickly provided
after Dad had a short, but quite traumatic experience in a care home, which left him feeling insecure about being on his own. And, on two occasions, Dad has become very confused, disorientated and quite frightened during the day and Home Instead have had someone with him within 30 minutes, to reassure him and stay with him until he feels more settled - absolutely above and beyond! Therefore, I want to be clear that this feedback is not just about the carers, but most certainly includes the office based staff too. Without them, nothing would happen.

What can I say other than fabulous! We have been using Home Instead to care for my grandparents for a year, and they are amazing!
The staff are friendly yet professional, always with a smile.
They know what my grandparents like and dislike and always accommodate this. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
They are vigilant and notice if things aren't right.
The management and office team are amazing too, so helpful and always on hand to help, discuss things and advise.
If anything needs to be discussed or sorted, it's done quickly and professionally.
I can not recommend them highly enough, and we would never use anyone else.

All carers arrived punctually and did whatever tasks were asked of them. Some made suggestions about additional help they could offer. One or two seemed to have little knowledge of food preparation for meals, but they followed instructions. All were considerate, attentive and friendly.

I have found the care I receive is to be rated as first-class. Both the office and my carer are excellent in everything they do. In my home, my carer is really so helpful and thorough, nothing is too much trouble for her. She is always cheerful and uplifting to me, together with being thoughtful in
assisting me with decisions needed to be taken. My home is a better place to live in now with the support I am receiving.

After many years of working in IT alongside others, Andy wanted to do something people-focused and could see first-hand the positive difference he made to people’s lives within the local community.
Therefore, Home Instead's ethos and model stood out immediately to Andy. Treating each of our clients as individuals, taking time to understand their interests, likes and dislikes and match clients with like-minded CAREGivers, is why Andy is so proud to own a Home Instead office.
Working closely with his partner Josephine, Andy manages the business invoices and supports Daniel with day-to-day operations.

Josephine is Home Instead West Exeter & Tegnbridge's Co-Owner.
Similarly to Andy, after many years of working in IT, Josephine enjoys reviewing internal processes and implements improvements to operate the office more effectively.
Joesphine also manages finances, ensures data is maintained securely and enjoys D.I.Y meaning she has become the go-to person for hanging shelves, coat hooks, pictures and mending things!

Dan leads all office operations, supporting the Office Team and CAREGiver's to provide person-lead quality care.
