My Dad receives 4 calls a day from Lotus Home Care and the carers are amazing, they do everything that is in the care plan and always go above and beyond to help. I cannot thank them enough as it gives me a chance to actually spend time with my dad rather than cooking, cleaning and shopping. The office
staff have been great from the beginning and always let me know if they are going to be late or sending new carers. Thank you.

A few weeks of respite care at home and at short notice was provided for my husband. The manager was very good, caring and professional and arranged for us to meet the carer prior. My husband was looked after well and the house was very clean on my return. Unfortunately as English was not the carers'
first language there were difficulties in understanding and he could not hold conversations.

Reply from Gerry Petts, Customer Experience Quality Officer at Lotus Home Care Wakefield

It sounds like the respite care experience for your husband was overall positive, with good communication from the manager and quality care during your absence. It's understandable that difficulties in communication, due to language barriers, could have been frustrating. Despite this, it's clear that the care provided and the cleanliness of your home were satisfactory, which are important aspects of such a service. If you plan on using Lotus Care again, you might consider discussing the language aspect with the service provider beforehand to ensure smoother communication.

We have experienced money going missing, calls not been delivered on time, medication not been administered properly, no MAR sheet in the property, care plan not been followed, dirty smelly washing not been taken to laundry, poor communication with the office. Managers appear to say the right things
but nothing changes, meeting arranged with deputy and did not attend, sent someone else.

If I could keep the same carers all the time it would be very good.

Reply from Harry Singh at Lotus Home Care Wakefield

Thank you very much for your lovely review. We are working hard to ensure a dedicated group of carers remain visiting yourself however on occasion (i.e. if the prior appointment requires an emergency being attended to), cannot always guarantee this. We will work hard to ensure this occurs.

The team care for my parents both in their 90's who live together in their own home and both have different needs. All the carers interact with them as individuals. The team often go above and beyond the basic requirements and always contact me with any concerns. This is a great team and I would recommend
them to anybody.

It is only three weeks since engaging the company but in the main finding service is effective to date.
Eventually, the time scheduling needs to be tightened but overall have no complaints.
Impressed with the use of medication administering records and with the carers resume of their individual inputs.

The care and support my parents have been given have been a breath of fresh air. Everyone was very concerned for my mother doing the care for my father and her with exhaustion. The carers come in are respectful of the house and my parents, helping to do jobs such as helping with the cooking, taking
some of the work off Mum. The kindness and care the carers have given her have been second to none and my parents and I are very grateful. Thank you.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.500 for Lotus Home Care Wakefield is calculated as follows: ( (7 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 4.5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 2 points in total for each of the next 9 Positive Reviews (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.1, 7th = 0.1, 8th = 0.1, 9th = 0.1, 10th = 0.1)

The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Lotus Home Care Wakefield is based on 2 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 = 3.5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Job Title: Registered Manager

I have worked in care for over 10 years, I started working with children and then moved into adult social care.

I started as a care co-ordinator and worked my way up to Registered Manager within a short space of time, this was down to my regional manager at the time who put a lot of faith in me and encouraged me to be the best version of myself. I love to see people happy and thriving at home and I am a strong believer that home is where the heart is. My main job role is maintaining a safe and compliant service and aiming to exceed expectations. There is no better feeling than seeing not only a service user smile but also seeing family happy with the care we are providing.
