In addition to this, they use the latest technology meaning that their clients or their relatives can have realtime access to their care records and daily logs from anywhere in the world whenever they choose.

Their carers are highly organised, hard-working and genuinely passionate about making a difference to clients' well being. As a caring company, Alcedo Care spends a lot of time matching the right carers with the right clients, ultimately creating a comfortable relationship that enables a carer to meet the exact needs of a client in their own environment. They aim to minimise the number of different carers that the service user has to deal with on a regular basis, after all, the primary concern is improving the service user's quality of life and health, without adding any extra stress to their lives.

Each person has their specific requirements, and are assessed as such. The team work closely with each client to determine what kind of support or care they'll need ultimately producing a carefully drafted unique, person-centred care plan which is then agreed and signed off by the client.

Please see all client reviews to get an insight into what their clients think about them. They welcome any care-related questions about alternative care settings or other options that may be available and will always do their best to help.

Would not recommend this agency to anyone looking for care. They do not do what they claim on their website, they treat the family of the service users with no respect, they ignore phone calls, emails and all other forms of communication. The staff provided do not have the specific training for the
needs of the service user and they employ anyone with half a transferable skill and stick them onto complex packages without further training. They don't follow policies and procedures and more worryingly don't have policies for a lot of things that should be standard. The management lack health and social care experience, office staff are practically children and don't listen to word you say. That seems to a be a running theme throughout the agency. Not listening. They can't even get the users disabilities on their care plans right and claim to have no idea about major needs of their clients.
And they will lie to cover themselves when you pull them on their failings! Shocking quality.

Thank you for your review. However, your claims are incorrect, misleading, and defamatory. Our Southport branch has over 65 years of combined experience, and our team's professionalism is well-documented. All your previous allegations were investigated and found unsubstantiated by ourselves and third parties. The communication breakdown was from your end, despite our repeated efforts to contact you, your behaviour during interactions was hostile and aggressive. Our policies and procedures are readily accessible, as you are fully aware, having received and reviewed these documents in the past. We maintain accurate client records and cannot falsify care documentation. Despite our efforts to support your child's transition into adulthood, you resisted their independence and withheld care provision. We champion inclusivity and independence and did not condone your negative characterisation of your child. Due to your obstruction of the care plan, we served notice on your service.

My husband has complex needs so was initially anxious about a new care package. Have only had carers for a few weeks but must say we are extremely happy with the care and attention given. Have seen the same carers (3) since the beginning so we are happy with this continuation of care and feel that they
are getting to know my husband well. All are pleasant people, attentive and prompt.

I don't live near my mum so needed carers to keep an eye on her, Alcedo has provided the care and necessary confidence in looking after my mum that I needed. Although Mum doesn't need a lot of care at present we know she will in the future with her life-limiting illness, the companionship and care they
already show Mum has been fantastic. The management creates a caring, inclusive environment for both the client and family and is very easy to deal with.

I do not live in the UK and I rely on the detailed, twice daily reports filled out by the Alcedo team to monitor the wellness of my father. The carers, and our primary contact, are so thoughtful and kind to my father (who can be tricky) and they make sure that my sister and I are aware of everything
that he does, or needs.
After he fell in September I spent some time here to keep an eye on his healing and so was lucky enough to watch the team at work: the care is amazing and he has formed a really strong bond with many of the carers.
I would be more than happy to recommend Alcedo Southport to anyone: they really do actually 'care' about their clients.

Reply from Lucy Deighton, Operations Manager at Alcedo Care Southport

Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. It truly means the world to us to hear how much our care and support have meant to you and your father. We understand how important it is to stay informed when you're not nearby, and we're so pleased that our detailed reports and ongoing communication have provided you with reassurance. It's wonderful to hear that you had the opportunity to see our team in action and that your father has built such strong bonds with his carers. We know he can be a bit tricky at times, but we are grateful for the trust he has placed in us. His well-being is always our priority, and it's incredibly rewarding to know that our care has made a difference. Your kind words and recommendation mean so much to the whole Alcedo Southport team. We are committed to providing compassionate, person-centered care, and feedback like yours reaffirms why we do what we do. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.

Myself and my mum are very happy with all the carers that come into our home. 1 or 2 problems with times of calls but that seems to of been sorted now. The carers that come are always happy and bubbly they do brighten up my mum. They are always respectful of our home and helpful to me always asking
if there is anything they can do for me washing up, changing bed, emptying bins, nothing is ever too much trouble for them.

Friendly carers, interact well with my mum.
Do everything we ask them to i.e. changing bed and emptying bathroom bins.
Time is not always what we have asked for, care call is supposed to be 9-10 in the morning. Mum is often in the shower by 9 o'clock.

I cannot tell you what a lifesaver Alcedo Care Southport has been. My 89 year old dad who has dementia is still capable of living in his own home and we have had some awful experiences of care providers in the Southport area. That is until I made a phone call to Alcedo Southport and spoke to a member
of staff.
What a difference this company has made to our lives. There is an app which is great for me as I don't live with Dad so I can access the carer's notes and see if everything is okay. You can also see the rota of who is calling and at what time. Much better than written notes.
The staff at Alcedo Care Southport are exactly what you want. They really do care. I had almost given up hope of finding a decent care provider so please rest assured that with this company your relative will be cared for.
I get regular phone calls checking that all is ok and if there are any niggles they are sorted.
Please do not hesitate to give this company a ring. I personally would highly recommend them.

Everyone who has been to us from Alcedo has been amazing. Their care and support is second to none. Horrendous service! If I could give a minus score I would.
Don't listen to the care needs of the service users, giving what they think is best for them. Requested day and overnight care, only to find out that when the carer arrives she has been told not to cover any overnights as that is for the family
to do. What are we paying for if not that? The carer stayed over in our house in the bedroom assigned for carers and did not do any care after 10pm the first time and then 8pm on the second time. We did however have to pay for the privilege of having someone in our house overnight - even though we did not want her there! In the 36 hours requested, we may have received 10 hours of care/support for our daughter when she requested help and support i.e making drinks/food, getting up, dressed etc. The rest of the paid time the carers spent in the bedroom! Management is shocking and clearly does not understand the needs or vulnerabilities of disabled clients who should have someone with them at all times.

Reply from Lucy Deighton, Operations Manager at Alcedo Care Southport

We provided you with live-in care services as requested which was discussed upon your initial telephone enquiry, in the assessment process with you and your daughter and at the meet and greet session.
As well as the above, our live-in care services are set out in our contract. Our carer provided the care that was required for your daughter which involved personal care, nutrition, hydration and assisting with toileting and was available in your home upon your daughter's request for any assistance she required. The management team have tried to contact you numerous times by phone and email to resolve any issues however you have stated ‘you didn’t want to speak to anyone’.
Here at Alcedo Care we are always flexible and offer support to all our valued clients. We take onboard feedback (both positive and negative) to ensure that any issues are resolved in the most effective way whilst improving our service, we are sorry you feel we didn’t deliver the service that was ultimately agreed.

After being sent home from hospital for end-of-life care my wife found herself in the care of Alcedo Care. I was worried as to how this would work out because so many different carers were involved. But no need to worry, it worked out so very well. My wife loved the carers and they loved her, she was
treated so well by them all. Thank you all.

Job Title: Operations Manager

My name is Lucy Deighton and I am proud to be the Operations Manager for Alcedo Care Southport/Preston/North Liverpool & Sefton/South Liverpool and Live-in Care England & Wales. I have over 10 years of experience in the health and social care sector, starting as a home carer. My healthcare career started off in college, studying for a Health and Social Diploma and working for a local home care agency within Southport. Once I completed my diploma, I then studied at the University of Central Lancashire where I successfully graduated from university with a health and social degree. Whilst I was studying, I worked within a local care home and worked up to become a Deputy Manager. I enjoyed this role however after 2 years, I decided I wanted to move back to home care services and further my knowledge. I was a care coordinator for a local homecare provider within the Southport area, coordinating a team of 50+ staff members and over 2000 hours of care a week. Whilst co-ordinating I studied further and I successfully passed my QCF Level 5 NVQ in Leadership Management for Health and Social care for adults and children. Following my achievement, I wanted to put all my new knowledge into practice and am fortunately now the Operations Manager of Alcedo Care Southport/Preston/North Liverpool & Sefton / South Liverpool and Live-in Care England & Wales.

Throughout my career, I have always challenged myself to find ways to support and enable those in my care provision to receive the best possible care and support, by working with all multi-disciplinary healthcare teams and of course, my team of staff by ensuring they are well trained, organised, and professional. My role is to ensure all clients’ needs are met every day to the highest possible level.

My role is to ensure operational efficiency and drive the growth of the business while ensuring all clients’ needs are met every day to the highest possible level.

I completed my NVQ Level 3 in health and social care there as I had the desire to progress within the industry and advance my skills to be able to deliver the best service possible and support to get people the best care available to them.

Over the next few years, I worked my way up starting as a support worker with people with learning disabilities, developing to a Senior Carer and then became Deputy Manager of a nursing home.
