My name is Lucy Deighton and I am proud to be the Operations Manager for Alcedo Care Southport/Preston/North Liverpool & Sefton/South Liverpool and Live-in Care England & Wales. I have over 10 years of experience in the health and social care sector, starting as a home carer. My healthcare career started off in college, studying for a Health and Social Diploma and working for a local home care agency within Southport. Once I completed my diploma, I then studied at the University of Central Lancashire where I successfully graduated from university with a health and social degree. Whilst I was studying, I worked within a local care home and worked up to become a Deputy Manager. I enjoyed this role however after 2 years, I decided I wanted to move back to home care services and further my knowledge. I was a care coordinator for a local homecare provider within the Southport area, coordinating a team of 50+ staff members and over 2000 hours of care a week. Whilst co-ordinating I studied further and I successfully passed my QCF Level 5 NVQ in Leadership Management for Health and Social care for adults and children. Following my achievement, I wanted to put all my new knowledge into practice and am fortunately now the Operations Manager of Alcedo Care Southport/Preston/North Liverpool & Sefton / South Liverpool and Live-in Care England & Wales.
Throughout my career, I have always challenged myself to find ways to support and enable those in my care provision to receive the best possible care and support, by working with all multi-disciplinary healthcare teams and of course, my team of staff by ensuring they are well trained, organised, and professional. My role is to ensure all clients’ needs are met every day to the highest possible level.

Hi! My name is Laura Harrison and I am the Area Manager for Alcedo Care at the Southport Branch. I come from Liverpool and have spent a large amount of my working life in the Fitness and Security industry. After deciding I wanted to take a step away from the security sector, I decided to try my hand within the Care Industry.
After a long discussion, I could not have been more pleased to become a part of the Alcedo family!

Hi, my name is Clint, I joined Alcedo Care due to the lockdown. I have spent most of my life working in hospitality, from managing Hotels to restaurants, so this was a big change for me coming into the healthcare industry, but I have really enjoyed the challenges and new opportunities this has given me and I wish I had made this transition sooner.
I have worked with Alcedo Care for around 3 years now and I have gained a wealth of experience whilst I have been here. I have been lucky to progress throughout various roles learning more as I go.
I have completed my NVQ Level 2 in care, Train The Trainer course and I am currently working towards my NVQ Level 4. I love to learn how the body works and enjoy learning new techniques and skills to aid my progression within my career.

My name is Hayley and I have worked in the care industry for 11 years. I started my career as a Care Assistant in a local nursing home. I was looking after many clients with end-stage dementia and it was in this home that I learnt a lot of my core care skills that I still use today. I completed my NVQ Level 3 in health and social care there as I had the desire to progress within the industry and advance my skills to be able to deliver the best service possible and support to get people the best care available to them.
Over the next few years, I worked my way up starting as a support worker with people with learning disabilities, developing to a Senior Carer and then became Deputy Manager of a nursing home. I joined Alcedo Care in 2020 and completed my Level 5 NVQ in Leadership and Management. Due to life commitments, I now work part-time as a Care Assessor so I can spend more time watching my beautiful daughter grow and learn.
I have always enjoyed working in care as I love to interact and communicate with the clients, I want to ensure that their health and welfare are supported and that they have a higher quality of living.

I have worked in the care sector for over twenty years, in several different settings, including care homes, care in the community and hospital settings. I started as a carer, then was promoted to a senior carer, before becoming a care coordinator. I then went on to become a Registered Manager for a domiciliary care company. I have a QCF Level 5 in Leadership within Social Care and Young People's Services. I chose to work in the care sector because I am a very caring person and felt I had a lot to give to vulnerable people, less fortunate than myself. I chose to work for Alcedo Care for its professional structure and excellent reputation, coupled with the fact that Alcedo Care is a family-run business with excellent vision and values.
