The care and service has been excellent over the last year. Don’t know what we would have done without the help you have given in all aspects of care!
The staff are friendly and have certainly made a difference to my mother in law
I’m sure she wouldn’t be here now without your support.
I have recommended
you to many people.

From the initial contact and ongoing; the Home Instead Wakefield team have been exceptional. Consistently professional and flexible to Dad’s needs. He’s been particularly impressed with the consistency of personnel and no one ever goes to him that hasn’t been introduced first.
I highly recommend this
team and it gives us, the family, much peace of mind as well as the help and support received by Dad.
Thank you.

Home Instead began care of my mother in December last year and are still supporting us. They provide morning visits every day and evening, visits every day (except Saturdays) and when I or my sister are not around, they can provide a tea-time visit as well so that Mum isn't left alone too long and ensures
she gets a proper meal. As well as providing personal care, the carers keep an eye on other issues like shortage of various essentials that I may have overlooked and provide some companionship to break up long and uneventful days. There is a regular group of 3-4 carers so that Mum can get used to them (and they her) rather than a constant churn of different individuals. Home Instead offer a reasonably flexible attendance programme, though they do need at least a couple of weeks' notice to change the schedule.
Price is reasonable. All in all, working well so far.

I made contact with Home Instead on a recommendation from a friend. There was an initial home visit by the Manager who talked through (with mum and myself) the service they could offer.
Initial service care was put in place for one visit per day to help Mum get up in the morning. As mum's illness
progressed we felt the need to increase the care package. Mum has Alzheimer's and the main thing we have found with the carers is how they talk to mum and listen to what she has to say (even though she can't remember much these days). They treat her with the utmost respect at all times and ask her to do as much as she can herself whilst they are there in order to keep some independence.
Mum wants to stay in her own home for as long as possible and the package we have in place helps with this. I would like to thank the team of carers for their care and duty in looking after mum. It certainly eases the pressure on the family. Thank you.

Extremely satisfied by the care given to my mother. She has been cared for with care, compassion and friendliness. Setting up the care plan was easy and contact with family before commencing care was good which helped put us at ease about the carers.

The service offered is caring compassionate and flexible.
The needs of clients are always a primary consideration. A very flexible approach is used that can provide social, domestic and personal care. Companionship is a priority as is safety. This is a listening concern, willing to operate flexibly.
Prices are fair and workers well trained and well matched to clients. A regular inspection of services informs ongoing improvements in delivery.
My parents were able to remain in their home in part a a result of this provision.
Thank you

The lovely carers at Home Instead have been visiting our Mum since 2019. They have called in twice a day to provide help, companionship and prepare breakfast/lunch for our Mum. In addition, we’ve had a shopping visit each week to get my Mum her food for the week. Their care has enabled Mum to live independently
at home whilst in her late eighties and over the past two years when we have had the Pandemic, lockdowns and travel disruptions to contend with. They even provided a Carer to take our Mum to her Grandson’s wedding near Cambridge. There and back in a day! We were so grateful for that service and that Mum could attend. Thank you to the team for their professionalism, kindness and support during this time. Excellent job!

In a challenging environment, the care provided is exactly what we need and my father is really appreciating the relationship he has developed with the care team. There is also a degree of flexibility in the service offered which is very much appreciated.

We cannot express how highly we recommend Home Instead, Wakefield. Since my father passed away last November, we had been staying with my mum until we found a care company we were happy with. Home Instead has proved to be everything we needed. From our first meeting, the manager and his staff have gone
above and beyond to make sure Mum receives a high standard of care, for her personal needs, household needs and to keep her in good spirits. They are friendly and highly professional. Great care is taken about Mum’s medication and we are informed if she needs a doctor appointment. The house is kept very clean and tidy with a regular rota for washing, cleaning, changing beds etc. They even fill the bird feeders regularly! Mum is settled and eating well and she has a good relationship with the carers, as do we.
Communication is excellent and we receive regular updates from the carers or the manager to let us know if Mum is feeling unwell or is running short of something. We could not be happier.

My walking companions are kind, chatty and punctual. They walk at my pace, whether or not that is slow or fast or to just simply stop and look around us. I can rely on them to turn up when agreed and look forward to our walks each week.

I would, without hesitation, recommend the manager and his team. He takes care to match carers with the person. The care is compassionate, patient and reliable. Staff cheerfully engaged with our family member, raised her spirits and offered kindly reassurance. The manager and the carers have at times
gone above and beyond in caring for our family member who suffered from rapidly progressing dementia, including dealing with issues outside the normal care hours and providing short-notice care. Staff were also honest and brought forward any issues that inevitably arise. Having experienced poor care from others, we particularly appreciate the good care given by the manager and the team.

My husband is living with dementia, and I provide all his personal care. Prior to his diagnosis in 2016, he was a keen golfer and snooker player. He now spends three hours each week with a befriender who takes him to play snooker and will take him to golf when the weather improves. My husband loves
this time, and I have three hours respite, which is well valued. He has a wonderful befriender who is professional, caring, reliable and friendly; providing a brilliant service.

Following a serious cardiovascular operation, my husband suffered a stroke. He needed help to recover at home when he was discharged from hospital. I feel I was very fortunate to hear about Home Instead. From the initial phone call, followed by a meeting at home and then the care itself, the service
my husband and I received was first class and everything they said it would be. We were lucky enough to have the same carer almost every day from early January until recently when we no longer needed help. Our carer was experienced, compassionate and helpful. It was a pleasure to welcome him into our home at such a stressful time. The management were always at the end of the phone if I needed further help and advice. I have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead Senior Care.

I needed help at home when I was discharged from hospital in early January 2019. My wife organised Home Instead Wakefield and I was very pleased with the service I received from them for three months to March 2019. My carer was delightful to deal with and I enjoyed his visits. He was compassionate,
experienced, flexible and good humoured. Without his help, advice and supervision I'm sure I wouldn't have progressed as quickly as I did. He gave me confidence. I'm very grateful to my carer and the management team for all their efforts which were always provided in a dignified and respectful way.

I was sole carer for my mum for seven weeks, and awaiting a funded care package. I was then asked to consider paid care as a temporary measure, as I needed to return to work.
After several internet searches and many phone calls, I finally got through to the owner. He listened to my predicament, and
my tears, and offered to come out and visit me the next day.
He came, with his manager, and we talked through the options. I signed up straight away. The way they both spoke about the importance of the individual, and how they worked, convinced me Mum would be in safe hands.
Since they started a month ago, I have had one occasion when I wasn't happy - the owner rang me to listen to my problem and addressed it straight away.
I feel confident in their care, reliability, communication and efficiency. They are slightly more expensive than some others, but because I feel I can trust them to look after Mum well, and dare go off for the day, or even the weekend, they are worth it.

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
