Mum was discharged from the hospital to my home on end-of-life care a few weeks ago. She previously experienced an awful time in a local care home. My friends were worried about how I would cope but the carers have made it easy for me. Mum can be very challenging during personal care but each and every
one of them takes it in their stride and are kind and calm and also very supportive of me. They could not be any more professional and I am blown away by the maturity of some of the younger carers. The week mum came home I caught a chest infection and my washing machine broke down. The carers were so kind and one even got me a loaf of bread and took mums sheets home to wash and dry while I waited for my machine to be repaired. The office staff are also really kind and courteous and nothing is a problem. Thank you for helping me to have mum home where she belongs and for just being brill!

I am delighted with the care the Right At Home care team show my mum. The staff are polite and courteous on each visit. Mum has four visits per day to assist with personal care needs and your staff treat her with compassion and kindness, always asking mum how they can help on each visit.
Mum enjoys
chatting and having a banter with the carers, she looks forward to their visits and is grateful for their help. They always ask if they can do anything for me as well before they leave. On behalf of myself and my family, thank you for the care and kindness you show our mum.
I would 100% recommend Right At Home care team.

I have used Right at Home for the past fifteen months. Efficient, caring and the carers are amazing. From having carers twice a day to four times a day, nothing was ever too much trouble. I live over 100 miles away, and it was a great relief to know mum was being well cared for.

Mum has now had to

go into a care home, and I could never have managed the last few months without the invaluable help from Right at Home. I cannot thank the team enough, for keeping mum independent and relieving me of the worry.

Reply from Stacey Gentle, Registered Manager at Right at Home (Stockport & Didsbury)

Looking after mum has been an absolute pleasure and a privilege - I am sure her carers at the care home will enjoy supporting her as much as we have. Thank you for your kind words - I will be sure to pass them on to the carers. Thank you!

As the next of kin and family representative, I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Right at Home. Our beautiful aunt is having the best care at home possible. They are reliable, caring, knowledgeable and professional. We have had an experience with other care organisations for other family
members and our aunt, and Right at Home delivers its promise and, in doing so, supported the extended family as well as the family member in need. Thank you to the whole team.

I have several major concerns about this company after caring for a family member of mine with dementia for a short two months before we, unfortunately, had no other option but to stop using their services.
We have repeatedly visited and found pots of medication left with our family member, unadministered
and left next to them.
We requested a brief update after each visit. The response received - With regards to a daily briefing, this isn't something we could feasibly adhere to as part of regular operations. No other option was suggested to us. Visits were due to be roughly one hour. We have seen carers leave and drive away from the property within 15 minutes of arriving. When questioned we were advised by management this particular visit had been logged at 50 minutes and that the ring doorbell installed must be incorrect.
There was absolutely no consistency with carers. Right at Home state on their website they are 'specialists in dementia care' yet our family member rarely saw the same person more than twice.

Reply from David Meanwell, Managing Director at Right at Home (Stockport & Didsbury)

Dear Megan, we are sorry to hear that your experience with Right at Home has not been positive, we can assure you that we take all complaints and concerns seriously.

We have reviewed the case, especially looking at our contact points with the legal power of attorney who is different from yourself. Any issues that this person raised were dealt with immediately with no further concerns raised, had we been made aware, I hope you understand that we would have dealt with them seriously. We do have a mobile application that family members can access to check that loved ones are safe, however, we do need to ensure that all involved have consented to view information that can be very sensitive. I know that when the care ceased we had established that consent and were comfortable for that data to be reviewed, we believe that we had nothing to hide.

Please feel free to call me personally to discuss any further concerns.

My husband needed palliative care due to deteriorating health and we were given Right at Home. The care my husband gets from each and every individual is superb, not just the compassion but also the friendship they give to him makes his day. They also went beyond when I needed hospital care myself just
recently and being the sole carer at home was stuck but the Right at Home team worked together to get us sorted till I came out. For this, I'm internally grateful but the whole team are amazing I'm so glad they are our care team.

My Mother needed help at short notice and the Stockport and Didsbury Right at Home were able to respond quickly and effectively. The assessment of my mother was very thorough but very sensitive. My Mother got on well with the staff that visited her twice a day. Timings of visits could be slightly variable
but that was not a problem, given my Mother's needs. Overall Right at Home were invaluable in helping my mother gain back some of her independence.

From the first phone call received, to assessment and commencement of carers, communication has been first class. After just one week of visits to my disabled mum, I feel so relieved that I have not just support for her, but she has new friends and the reassurance for me is priceless.

As a healthcare professional myself, I am acutely aware of what good care looks like.
It is an understatement to say how extremely pleased I am that Right at Home was chosen - their service is exceptional.
Mum is from a generation of self-care, so accepting she needed carers was difficult for her.
From day one, back in November, she has welcomed their visits as she feels her privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.
The many carers that attend, are so caring, compassionate, professional and very respectful to both my mother and myself. Their care goes above and beyond the physical tasks, nothing is too much trouble, they leave mum comfortable and contented.
Praise to the management for choosing such special people. They have obviously given their staff the most appropriate training and guidance in not only the physical tasks but in the life skills required for this demanding role.
I cannot thank enough all the staff for enabling this period of our lives to be made so much more comfortable

The Right At Home team of carers and support staff are a wonderful team that provides compassionate, gentle, empathetic and efficient care. We had dad home from hospital for palliative care, Right At Home made it possible and ensured that dad's last days were peaceful, calm and comfortable. Mum appreciated
especially the overnight sit care. She had complete trust and faith in the night carer so she could get the sleep required to cope with each desperately sad day. The carer contacted the District Nurses if dad needed medical intervention which provided the reassurance and comfort that mum needed at that time - he and all the carers are a credit to the company, we could not have asked for more.
Not only did the carers look after dad, but they always also checked on all the family and if they could do anything for us above keeping dad comfortable. The most heartfelt thank you to all at Right At Home for making dad's last days bearable for us all.

I would just like to say how wonderful all the carers were with my mum and me. We became very fond of them. Unfortunately she had a terminal illness. All the carers were so kind, caring and understanding towards us.
The level of care given was of a very high standard and helped to make mum’s final
days as good as they could be with dignity. I can’t thank everyone enough, including the office staff who were always very helpful too.

The last ten months in which my husband was ill have been made so much easier with the support of your carers. Since their first visit, we (the family) have found them to be so very kind, caring, and thoughtful, above all they treat my husband with great respect and dignity.
His comfort and well being
was always their first concern, although there have been some difficult times, there have been some very happy moments when they had a joke, got a smile, and even a song and a whistle!

The carers throughout have always offered support and comfort to myself. I will be eternally grateful for having such a happy, professional group of people come to our house to look after my husband. Thank you all.

Right at Home Stockport have provided twice daily care for my 89-year-old father who has Alzheimer's and mobility issues. Right from the first contact via phone to the office I have found all staff I have dealt with to be nothing but empathetic and compassionate but also very professional. The care
my dad has received since starting with Right at Home has been exemplary. The main carers have gone above and beyond their remit on occasions with shopping etc when needed. They have also helped my dad look after his dog! The staff in the office have been very helpful and professional even going out to my dad after a visit when he was in difficulty. I cannot thank all the staff enough for giving me peace of mind as I am not local to my dad and I would recommend the service wholeheartedly to anyone in similar circumstances.

We were looking for a suitable company to undertake the care and attention my father needed. This was not an easy task as my father had stipulated he wanted to stay at home in his own surroundings. We came across the company Right at Home and after reading the reviews, decided to make contact to discuss
my father's needs. We spoke to the Manager who explained in great detail what they could offer and any additional requirements if needed. Well, where do I start, the service given was exceptional, all of the careers went above and beyond their normal routines. They genuinely do care about their patients, providing a first-class service, nothing was a problem, making hot meals and providing beverages if needed, more importantly, they developed a strong relationship and become a part of the family. It's not often you come across a company who really cares about its patients, the attention to detail shows. Respect, Passion, Integrity, and ownership

I have met many of the carers looking after my dad and all have been so helpful, friendly, professional and kind. We use the company seven nights a week. The ladies who care for my father are attentive, polite and they also communicate fantastically with him. After awful experiences with other care companies, I cannot fault any Right at Home (Stockport & Didsbury) carers. They are all fully trained (other companies tell you this and you discover they aren’t and useless, putting your loved one at risk). I am absolutely over the moon with the quality of care
they provide my mother. I don’t have to watch over them to make sure they do things correctly or miss simple things like brushing teeth or combing hair. They do everything with a smile and are extremely efficient in all aspects of my mother's care. I highly recommend you to use this company and their team of professional carers; your loved one couldn’t be looked after better than with these carers. They are also considerate to me in addition to my mother. Thank you all - you can't imagine the peace of mind, and relief I feel to have discovered you.

Right at Home have been amazing, especially through the lockdown. Dad has looked forward to his visits and he’s become very fond of his carer, the company alone has been a blessing. The regularity of keeping the same carer as much as possible has been invaluable with dementia. His routine now is regular
and he is managing it great. The carers that attend are all highly professional and caring, always willing to do a little bit extra to help. In fact so good we have just recently increased visits to an extra one a week.

We were very happy with the standard of live-in care provided by the agency to our mother. The staff were very caring and committed to looking after mum, showing kindness, respect and sympathy in sometimes difficult circumstances. This was the only agency who were able to provide the live-in care we
were looking for. We felt the staff were well supported by the managers in the office. The only niggle we felt was sometimes communication between the office team and the family to keep us in the loop about issues could have been better organised. But this is a small point when the care was generally very good. We wouldn't have been able to move mum home from the care home without the service and support provided.

Never before has a name been so fitting for Home Care, I intend for all CareGivers, my team and I to truly MEAN WELL!!

When asked in an interview what I wanted to do with my life, the instant reaction came back, ‘I want to make a difference’. Whilst I have developed two car rental businesses from small beginnings and influenced many employees along the journey, I have never truly done what I set out to do.

At Right at Home Stockport & Didsbury, I believe that I have a unique opportunity to deliver outstanding care in a community I have lived in for over seventeen years and use the skills I have developed to make a difference. Throughout my business career to date, I have always demanded high-quality service and asked each employee to treat a customer like their ‘grandparent’, knowing that your ‘grandparent’ should be respected and cared for more than any other family member. The experience of growing in a quality customer-focused business has made me determined to translate this into the Home Care sector.

I am a recognised dementia friend and will be progressing, as a dementia champion to train others in the local community. Hopefully developing dementia communities where as many people as possible can help those living with dementia to lead a full life.

As I now live and work locally I know that my family will become a strong support to the future development of Right at Home Stockport & Didsbury. With a wife and three young children at home waiting for the next daily update on the care adventure.
