My father-in-law is now 102, and has carers three times a day. On the whole, they are very good and provide for his needs. Dealing with the office is fairly easy and the standard of all is reasonable.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We are so pleased to hear that you are happy with the care and support we provided, it really means a lot to our team. It's an honour to have your father-in-law in our life to have first-hand stories of his experiences in both wars. No Book can express it. Thank you. Best Wishes, Berkeley Home Health.

Berkeley Home has provided support for our parents in their home for nearly two years now.
The carers have been professional and caring.
Our parents value being able to stay in their home, and we are so grateful that the visits have enabled them to do so.
Extra care was provided when our father
first came out of the hospital, which helped him settle back into life at home.

Berkeley homecare provided a very poor service for my mother. When they first took over the care from another agency it was acceptable but gradually became very poor due to the organisation not looking after the staff they inherited resulting in many excellent carers leaving. The CQC rating they are
trading off relates to the previous agency. Do not be fooled, Berkeley is barely adequate. In the last six months of 2022, they were not able to fulfil the care needs of my mother. Frequently carers did not turn up, were late or were inexperienced and unable to provide a good standard of care. The emergency helpline did not operate and we were often left unable to contact the agency out of hours when a carer did not arrive.
We terminated the contract with Berkeley at the beginning of 2023 and haven’t looked back.

Dear Lorraine,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am very sorry to hear about your experience which led to you terminating with us in 2022. We have taken your feedback onboard and have made a number of changes to our processes and service, including putting in place one of our experienced managers from another branch to ensure we offer a safe and outstanding in-home care service.
Best wishes
The Berkeley Home Health Team

My Grandma of 91 was waiting for 1 hour and 15 minutes to be put to bed. The service has gone downhill and seriously declined. The carers are not turning up on time. The payment is extraordinarily expensive and unaffordable. Since changing to this company I have not seen any improvements in care or
staff members. Unfortunately, we are not happy with this service anymore.

Unfortunately, my father came to a time in his life (89-years-old) when he was unable to cope at home alone. Home Care Preferred made an enormous difference to his quality of life. They encouraged his independence where possible and cared for him retaining his dignity. Dad did not think of his carers
as carers, but as friends. Thank you so much.

The carers do their job adequately but administration is poor. I often have to ring up and change the dates they are coming in spite of it being specified when I prefer them to come. On one occasion my call was not returned and a further request on Saturday was also ignored. None the less I have appreciated
the help I have been given.

The care I have received has helped me cope with daily tasks with the difficulties with my health. I wouldn't have coped without it.

We have found Home Care Preferred to be very responsive, adaptable and caring for the welfare of both my mother and me as her primary carer. The live-in care service allows me worry-free time away and the occasional visits when I need to be out for a few hours keep my mother safe and well cared for.

Everyone is extremely professional and helpful. I would suggest that each client/family have one named person to deal with at the office if possible. The one to one connection is so so important. Many thanks.

It is good to know that Mum is being visited in her own home as that is where she chooses to stay.
Her support workers are generally very caring and diligent (although it would be nice to have more consistency of staff as she gets confused by meeting too many new people).
I would and have recommended
Home Care Preferred to friends with elderly relatives.

I have used Home Care Preferred for our years. The care I received has always been very helpful, allowing me to lead an active and comfortable life despite restrictions caused by problems with mobility and hearing. The Manager is praised by his staff for his fair and sympathetic treatment. As a service
user, I can attest to that from a professional and personal point of view.
