My mother and myself are very happy with the carer and I am happy with the manager - speaking with her on the phone has always been a positive experience and having met her in person I feel I have been heard and that she is very thorough and aims to please and go above and beyond to help.

I'm a new service user to Highland Care. It beggars belief that this organisation has obtained a good rating by the CQC as some of the very basic requirements have not been met. The organisation itself seems to operate on an antiquated, fossilised approach to providing care to its users. Since becoming
a client of their organisation I've had no meetings with senior or lower management to discuss my needs or requirements. Let alone looking at the environment their care staff are working in. No assessment has been done. Although some of the actual work staff are very good they seem to be far and few in-between which also relate to the allocation team. In this day and age, these methods of providing care for vulnerable clients are draconian.
The organisation seems to be providing care for financial gain.

Reply from Tutu Idris, Responsible Person at Highland Care UK Ltd

We commenced service for K M on Christmas day and our senior carer attended to him. She found out what his needs are and carried out tasks to a high standard. This was to reduce the number of human contacts K M has due to Covid19 however, the office and our senior carer spoke to him on a daily basis to ask what his requirements were. We as an agency have gone above and beyond in order to satisfy K M. On multiple occasions, K M has called, whilst the carer was on call, in order to extend the time as he wanted additional tasks to be done. We even carried out tasks for his family members just to make him happy. When the restrictions were relaxed, the manager did go out to carry out a risk assessment for K M and sat down with him to know what is expectations were from us as an agency. We have all our clients best interests and carers called us daily to update us on K M care support and informed us of his well-being. Our carers supported K M with activities indoors and outdoors.
