My wife has been cared for since February 2022 - she suffered a stroke and needed significant care.
All the staff from Home Instead involved with her care were excellent and kind and went out of their way to give that little extra. My wife died on the 17th of February 2023, and two weeks prior to her
death, she needed extra special care, which was provided with dignity. Thank you all so very much.

We started to use Home Instead when our previous arrangements became insufficient for my mother's gradual decline. We needed them to augment our existing arrangements, and they were very flexible and willing to work around our current arrangements. They quickly put together a package and a team and
were keen for us to meet them in person, even though I live over four hours away. This meant we had confidence in the team who were visiting each day.
The team were compassionate, patient, caring and confident. They coped with Mum's good days and bad, were happy to cover other duties such as cleaning when Mum was out and were always cheerful. The office was always easy to get hold of, and their communications when things went wrong (such as late arrival due to traffic or sickness) were excellent.
Mum was able to live at home for a long time because Home Instead was able to support her family. I will forever be grateful for their efforts. Thank you.

My mum was 95 when she sadly passed away 2 months ago. She was very reluctant to have some help from outside to start off with but both mum and dad got used to seeing the lovely carers and they both enjoyed chatting to the carers and they appreciated all the help and support especially with my mum who
deteriorated over the last year. Dad was thankful to have lots of help for mum but he’s now getting some help like housework, washing, cooking and food shopping which he really appreciates.

Home Instead (Tavistock and Tamar Valley) helped to look after my mother over a period of about four months. My family are so grateful for their care. After a fall Mum needed extra care at home. They really cared about Mum and listened to what was important to her and she was not rushed. They regularly
went the extra mile. As a nurse, I appreciated that things were done well and the important details all taken care of. They were great at liaising with all the family and listening to all viewpoints. When Mum deteriorated they really helped by increasing care and in ensuring Mum was comfortable and not distressed in end of life. They enabled Mum to stay at home which was so important.

It was an honour to support Mum and all of you on this journey. Thank you so much for the kind words which are so valued by all the team.

We were so grateful to have the assistance of the staff of Home Instead who made it possible for my father to be cared for at home for as long as possible. They were kind and understanding and listened to our concerns and looked after my father in a very caring and professional manner and made him comfortable
and at ease which was difficult for a proud man in these circumstances.

My mother lived with us, and we were very happy to welcome the staff of Home Instead into our home. All the management and carers were very professional and efficient and ensured that they earned my mother's confidence - also providing great support for me. They rapidly adapted to changes in my mother's
needs as she became more unwell and showed their skill and experience at end of life.

Home Instead staff listened to my father and assessed his needs and then listened to me and helped put a care plan in place.
The small team of carers arrived on time every day, carried out the tasks required as well as any extras that they had time for such as hoovering or putting the washing in
the machine.
They were friendly and caring towards Dad and myself which I appreciated as we were going through a difficult time.

I've used Home Instead for my late Father and currently for my Mother. Everyone there is so helpful. The carers were and are so sensitive to my parent's different needs and characters. I live 250 miles away so having a reliable care company has been crucial, especially during Covid lockdowns when I
couldn't visit. I strongly recommend the Home Instead team.

Home Instead met all my expectations. Loved the way new caregivers was always introduced to me by a member of office staff. How new caregivers that were coming in shadowed another one to get used to the service user and the home and routine. All caregivers gave their best at all times to me. Felt comfortable
at all times to whoever was coming in.

We needed care over about eighteen months to assist my husband as his mobility deteriorated and dementia gradually worsened. The skills of each of the Home Instead carers were outstanding and we also valued the different personal qualities and kindness that they brought to the role. I also valued tremendously
their company and support during a difficult period for me. The care they provided enabled my husband to remain at home right up until he died, something he had wanted. I have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead to others.

When a fall meant that I could no longer give all the care my husband needed, Home Instead came to the rescue quickly and tactfully taking over my role caring for my husband and helping me as well.
The carers quickly became like another family cheering me up with stories from their lives - animals,
children, tennis, friends etc. Now that my husband is in a residential home I am free to go out but I still miss the carers friendship. Many thanks.

I called Home Instead after it became clear that my 98-year-old mum could no longer manage to live on her own safely. She had lived in the same rented accommodation for a long time and had been used to cooking and looking after herself. After a fall it became obvious that we needed to get some assistance
for her, especially getting up each morning and going to bed plus cooking.
Home Instead carried out a professional assessment of her needs and it was arranged to have carers call in for one hour 3 times a day.
She was very happy with the kindness and the skills displayed by the carers throughout the 6 month period that we used their services.
After another fall (in between the carers calls) Mum realised she needed 24-hour availability of care and we sought a suitable care home for her. She was sorry to lose contact with her carers but they have kept in touch to ensure that she's happy.

Home Instead Tavistock has provided outstanding care for my mum who was initially resistant to accepting support. The kindness shown by each and every companion/carer has been humbling to witness and they have enriched my mum's life whilst providing peace of mind for me. I have also found the scheduling
manager to be very accommodating and flexible and the support of the management team has been invaluable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the service to others. Heartfelt thanks to all at Home Instead Tavistock.

When my 93-year-old aunt had reached the stage where her care was too much for me alone, I contacted Home Instead (Tavistock and Tamar Valley) whose excellent reputation had been passed on to me by a friend. They were recommended as a care provider who not only provided exemplary care to their clients
but also to their staff and carers. It is lead by a management who have personal experience in looking for the best in care and companionship for their aged relative.
My aunt, who is a very private person was immediately at ease with the carers. They were well matched to her and quickly gained her confidence. They were always punctual, cheerful, didn't rush her with her personal care and when time allowed they sat with her and talked about her childhood and earlier life, a subject which always puts her at her ease. The management and the carers kept me completely informed of any concerns for her health or wellbeing and I would recommend them without any hesitation.
