Home Instead Senior Care Tavistock have been providing care here for over 12 months. I have called on many occasions with a request for a care giver to come and provide care with very little notice and somehow, they have always come up trumps. They understand their clients needs and do everything to
ensure that the right care giver is with the right client. The care givers we have are polite, helpful, conscientious and punctual. I wouldn't have any problem with recommending them to friends or family. Home Instead has been my saviour on so many occasions and I am so grateful.

The standard of care was exemplary, carers were friendly and helpful and did all they could to make my father comfortable and as happy as he possibly could be in his own home, enabling him to stay there for as long as possible. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for care in their own home.

Thank you, Celia, for your very kind words. It was an honour and privilege to share your father's journey. We all miss him.

I am unable to care for my mother as I live too far away. Home Instead gives me peace of mind because my mother is well cared for. Carers always arrive on time and are carefully matched with their clients. Agency well managed and focused on providing holistic care. Definitely best care agency in the
UK.

Thanks you so much Ruth for your very kind words. This means a great deal to the team.

Always arrived on time. Both carers are very attentive and caring. Worked carefully without hurrying the client, and both had a cheerful and pleasant approach to their work and their client. Showed genuine concern and empathy with my wife and her many disabilities. They took a weight off of my shoulders
and gave me a bit of time to myself.

Reply from Lynn Roddy, Director at Home Instead (Tavistock and Tamar Valley)

Thank you so much for your kind words. Reading to your wife was very special for the caregivers.

My elderly mother was determined to get back home from a short period in respite care at the beginning of 2020. As I live a long distance from her, I was very pleased to find the services offered by Home Instead that was tailored to her individual needs. The carers were all outstanding and provided
her with wonderful company and reassurance, as well as monitoring her medication and visits from the District Nurses, and undertaking her shopping on a weekly basis. The communications between the care managers and caregivers were also very reassuring: I was kept in touch with any issues that needed attention. It was a particular relief for me to know that she was safe during the COVID lockdown period. I think the CQC rating is very well deserved.

Reply from Lynn Roddy, Director at Home Instead (Tavistock and Tamar Valley)

Thank you so much for your kind words. The CAREGivers are so very fond of your mother. During the COVID lockdown, we were so glad to be able to give you both reassurance.

Home Instead caregivers are helping to care for my 99-year-old mother in her own flat. The care and friendship that she receives is exemplary, all the ladies show the same care, dedication and love to my mother at this time when she really needs it, frequently the care and help goes well beyond what
might be expected and I have nothing but praise for the caregivers and the management and organization supporting them. Keep it going ladies. (and, I think, some gentlemen as well).

Thank you Peter for your very kind words. It is an honour to support your mum at home.

My husband became unwell whilst the carers were here to assist him - he had difficulty to communicate and speak. The carers and occupational therapists gave me a great deal of support - calling the ambulance and supporting my husband for which I was truly grateful.

We love visiting you both and always wish to give you the best possible support.

Assistance was gratefully provided as agreed with service provider - Every key worker was polite and professional at all times being supportive to our needs. There were no issues with integrity or trust and all key workers could be relied upon to be in the house with no support from other family. Appointment
of one nominated key worker to attend when able each daily visit may have assisted in management of client but overall very impressed and already recommended to others.

Thank you for these kind words and comments. We were glad we could support the family through a difficult time. Thank you for your further recommendations.

We have previously used Home Instead in my home town for my mother in law. The service and care was fantastic. When we needed to find support for my brother we naturally looked to find the equivalent organisation near Plymouth.
My brother and I have been delighted on many levels with the kind and caring
support we have received from the Tavistock and Tamar Valley team of Home Instead Senior Care.
We would have no hesitation in recommending their services to any future potential clients.

Reply from Lynn Roddy, Director at Home Instead (Tavistock and Tamar Valley)

Thank you so much for these kind words which are so important to the care team for your brother. We are very much looking forward to resuming the outings locally, particularly to re-visit the animal parks.

The support received from this service has been first class. The carers are well matched to the interests of the client which helps form an immediate bond. In our case one carer has been allocated on a regular basis which has been beneficial to support a a degree of speech loss due to a stroke. We
have an arrangement for housekeeping duties and company which tends to work well and comunication channels are always open for discussion. It is a close and caring service and we are happy with the way it is working out. Mum feels she has made a lovely trusting friend.

Thank you so much for these kind words. Our CAREGiver enjoys mum's company enormously and as you say, a valued trusting friendship has developed.

The care provided to my mum by Home Instead was superb. Mum can be quite stubborn and is very independent, but the caregivers were so caring and friendly that she took to them almost immediately and looked forward to their visits. They were always polite and did everything Mum asked of them. When one
of the carers found my mum was very confused and unhappy, Home Instead contacted me and arranged for her GP to visit. As I was at work at the time I was very grateful for their support. The carer also stayed beyond her allotted time to deal with both the doctor and physio, talking to the latter about the equipment Mum needed. When my Mum was taken ill for a second time, they called an ambulance and let me know what was happening. The caregiver at the time was very emotional, which I feel demonstrates how much they care. I cannot fault their dedication and quality of care.

Reply from Lynn Roddy, Director at Home Instead (Tavistock and Tamar Valley)

Thank you so much, Sally, for these kind words. Mum quickly became a very popular character with her care team who as you know became very attached to her. They miss her enormously.

My husband and I could not be happier with Home Instead. Right from the start, the time spent with us both - getting to know our history, backgrounds, needs, likes, dislikes etc was impressive and reassuring.
Both carers, who alternate their time, are willing, friendly, efficient and intelligent people
who are obviously keen to get it right for my husband, as well as checking, daily, to see how I'm coping/feeling. They are always prompt unless unavoidably delayed and genuinely care for and about him.
I appreciate the follow-up calls from the office to see if there's anything we're not comfortable with and have found that every member of the team has genuine interest and empathy.
We can't fault them.

It is an honour to spend time with you both. The stories which your husband shares with the team are fascinating and it is a privilege to be part of your journey. Thank you from all the team.

Have been very impressed with the support and understanding the manager and the support team have given to Mum. Getting old and not being able to look after yourself is never easy, none of us would choose it, but we all face it. My experience of Home Instead is that they see the person they're giving
care to first and foremost as a person, with a life, with passions, interests, concerns. And they are willing and able to engage with the individual. And it's also been my experience that careful thought goes into which caregiver/enabler will be best suited to each individual. It's been a very positive experience!

Reply from Lynn Roddy, Director at Home Instead (Tavistock and Tamar Valley)

Thank you so much for these kind words. It has been an absolute pleasure to look after mum, and his carer has thoroughly enjoyed the outings, lunch clubs and activities they have been able to share.

The carers supplied by Home Instead are consistently sensitive and efficient. They are always willing to go that little bit extra. They genuinely care and as well as providing for my mother-in-law's needs in terms of getting washed and dressed, etc. they provide delightful companionship. The backroom
team are very organised and when there is a crisis, it is all hands to the pumps.

The Home Instead management are very professional and caring. They understand both the needs of the family as well the client and any problems are solved smoothly and without fuss. The caregivers are absolutely wonderful people. They have enhanced my mother's life and she laughs more. As I don't live
with mother, it's difficult to understand what's happening in her life and she can't remember what she's done in the day or simple things like if she's eaten, but through the care planning app I have a much better idea about her happiness and well being. Since Home Instead have become involved in my mother's life she is happier and my anxiety levels have reduced.

I am completing this review on behalf of my family and my now deceased father. We couldn't have asked for more supportive or compassionate care for our beloved Dad in his final few months. The team from Home Instead were knowledgeable and dedicated to the care that they provided not only to Dad but
also to the wider family who were coming to terms with the pending loss of our loved one. The support that they provided made a very difficult and upsetting period more manageable and we know that Dad knew he was being cared for and looked after his final weeks and months, this enabled him to pass on in the relative comfort of his own home dignity and with his family around him. We would highly recommend Home Instead and thank them again for all of their care and support.

I have been extremely impressed by the care and concern being given to my brother over the first few weeks. I am confident that Home Instead will help him feel much more confident about tackling everyday tasks and will boost his quality of life. He has a very caring team who are always willing to listen

The team at Home Instead Tavistock were extremely helpful when we needed some care for Mum. They were very professional and spent a great deal of trouble trying to match their available caregivers with her personality and her needs. They did a really impressive job and we thank them for helping us when
Mum was particularly vulnerable.
I would definitely recommend them and will be using them again if or when the need arises.

I have been convalescing with my daughter following an accident. At first, I was very reluctant to use the service, but I have been very pleased with the difference it has made to my daily life. As well as personal care the staff have performed many tasks like taking me to appointments and shopping.
Nothing has been too much trouble for the friendly and efficient staff.
