We contacted One Day At A Time further to a short hospital stay. We are very happy with the service provided, from the initial visit to establish Dad’s needs to the final care visit. We won’t hesitate to contact the service if needed in the future.

Dad receives four visits a day and is very happy with the care he has received. He has regular carers and has been able to build relationships with them so that each is an understanding of the other.
Dad has been reassured and comfortable at a time when he needs the support.

I haven’t had too much experience with the carers coming to see Mum, but I have seen them usually on a Saturday afternoon. They have been very friendly towards Mum and also to me. This has been set up to help Mum with certain things she’s finding difficult at 94 years old. However, she will not give
in and so far the carers have not had to do what they were employed for, but they have been there and Mum is getting used to them coming in, so eventually there will be a time when Mum accepts the help. We as a family are very grateful that you are coming in to see Mum twice a day and that it doesn’t seem to be an issue that what they are expecting to do is not what is happening at the moment. Thank you for helping, we are very happy with your company.

Couldn't ask for more in terms of the care provided for my mum - I feel confident leaving her care in their hands. A friendly team of carers and a responsive manager. When I have been there, they have been very patient in dealing with her and her hearing issues. We have had a few minor issues with communication
and it would be better if there was a greater range of hours for carer visits but otherwise, all as I would wish. Would certainly recommend it to others.

One Day At A Time have made such a difference to me. I have had direct payments for some time, but had been struggling to find someone who could meet my needs. The office team visited my home and took time to listen to what it was I needed. They then made some suggestions on how they could best meet
my need and it has been brilliant ever since. Most of the support I need is around home management and the team have learnt my home layout so quickly (with the aid of a few labels!). There have been some teething problems with what was required, but this has been swiftly resolved and having these ladies coming in has had a massive impact on me and my family.
I would recommend One Day At A Time regardless of what level of need you have.

Everything you could wish for - professional, kind, caring, thorough.
It is also a consistent service, not just a few stand-out providers but the whole team - and that includes the support team in the office as well as the actual hands-on carers.
Quite simply, I couldn't ask for more.

The carer who has been visiting my Dad has been absolutely brilliant and is the carer my Dad felt most comfortable with whilst recouping after a hospital stay. The care company have been so accommodating allowing him to have this carer for every visit. She always went above and beyond and on one occasion
that I know of even attended my dad's morning care visit when it was her day off. Once finished she then continued with her day off. She always listened and if there was any time left after completing everything my dad needed help with she would have a chat with my Dad, she would often be the only face he saw all day so this was important to us. You could tell she genuinely cared and enjoys her job and was not just ticking boxes for the tasks she had carried out throughout the visit. She was also so patient with my dad who has found it very frustrating not being able to do simple, everyday tasks that he could do a couple of months ago.

One Day At A Time have been most reliable and helpful in arranging visits and outings for my husband with Alzheimer's. The carers have been friendly and competent and worked hard to build relationships. The manager is easy to contact and has worked hard to keep in touch and fit in with our plans.

If you were to write a list of all the qualities that you would want in the carers for your family member, in my case, Father, the carers at One Day at A Time would tick every box! My father is mobility impaired and is bedroom-bound if not bed-bound. He is unable to do much for himself and needs 24/7
care. We were introduced to One Day at a Time after the NHS care package ran out after 6 weeks, some 18 months ago. We decided to ask One Day at a Time to come in each morning for 45 minutes to provide personal care, so washing, dressing in clean clothes etc. Each day that the carers come, my father is treated with respect and in a dignified manner. He is greeted with a smile and they show genuine care for his well-being. He looks forward to seeing the carers and enjoys getting to know them and having a laugh. I can honestly say that he gets more benefit from the carers coming than from the medication he has to take! I have no hesitation in recommending One Day at a Time to anyone who needs care.

The general presentation to the user is very good overall. Greeting users in a cheery manner, which helps with rapport. Efficient use of allocated time and carrying out necessary checks, such as medication use, food intake and health care.

Very happy with the service provided, although sometimes the team may run late at weekends and not let us know, this doesn't help my husband, and he gets quite anxious/impatient.
This is all I have to say for now.

I have been using One Day at a Time for just over a year for my grandma. They have been amazing throughout, and they have taken away so much worry I had for my grandma looking after herself. All the staff are amazing and lovely and treat Grandma with care and respect. I get reports back whenever they
have been in to see her, and the staff ring me about anything urgent. I thoroughly recommend One Day At A Time.

My mother is a dementia sufferer, and following a fall and a stay in the hospital, she was referred to One Day At a Time for reablement. She was given excellent care, and following further assessments, we found that she needed daily help with all tasks at home.
We had no hesitation in asking them to
continue caring for my mother, and can not praise them enough for the help and support that she is now getting from them.
I would not hesitate to recommend them to others seeking the sort of assistance we are getting.
