The Review Score of 9.7 (9.738) out of 10 for Safe Harbour Homecare Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.
The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
The Average Rating of 4.938 for Safe Harbour Homecare Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (45 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.938
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').
The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 2 points in total for each of the next 9 Positive Reviews (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.1, 7th = 0.1, 8th = 0.1, 9th = 0.1, 10th = 0.1)
The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Safe Harbour Homecare Ltd is based on 8 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 4.8
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I am a registered Manager for this service, my qualifications include a diploma in Management Studies, a level 3 in dementia care, and my managers' award level 5 in health and social care, amongst other qualifications including the safeguarding of adults etc, I have vast experience, in sheltered housing management, supported living, telecare, and domiciliary care provision.
Job Title: Registered Manager
Joined: 2021
In my role as the Registered Manager, I am committed to upholding the highest standards of care and compliance for our service. This includes ensuring that our team members receive continuous training, regular supervision, and spot checks to maintain their proficiency and confidence in providing care. My aim is to cultivate a supportive culture among our care staff, where they can reach out anytime to discuss issues, fostering an environment of open communication and collaboration.
I am dedicated to ensuring that our service users receive exceptional care by regularly updating their risk assessments, maintaining person-centred care plans, and ensuring accurate medication administration documented on MAR charts. We conduct annual reviews and adapt as needed when changes occur, keeping the care we provide relevant and effective.
Collaboration is key in our field, and I actively liaise with various professionals, including Occupational Therapists, district nurses, hospital discharge teams, and safeguarding teams within adult social care. Assessing new service users, along with involving their family members in discussions about care provision, is essential to tailor our services to their specific needs.
With a career starting in 1995, I have held various roles in the care sector, including Registered Manager, Service Manager, and Care Coordinator. I joined this company in 2021, and part of my responsibilities includes interviewing and guiding new staff through the induction process, ensuring they are well-prepared and confident in their roles.
What matters most to me is that every service user not only receives the best possible care but also feels valued, empowered, and, above all, safe.
Job Title: Team Leader
I am Mel, your Team Leader at Safe Harbour, overseeing the dedicated North Team. My role is multifaceted and revolves around ensuring the well-being and safety of our service users and caregivers.
One of my primary responsibilities is to conduct comprehensive assessments for all new service users.
These assessments enable me to create care plans tailored to their specific needs. This includes addressing medication requirements, conducting risk assessments, and planning nutrition tasks to ensure safe and effective support for our service users.
In addition to my assessment duties, I am here to provide unwavering support to our care staff. My goal is to ensure they feel confident and well-equipped to deliver exceptional care within the community. I also collaborate closely with our coordinator and other office staff, offering my assistance with care calls whenever it's needed.
Above all, what truly matters to me is the happiness and safety of our service users and caregivers. Their well-being is at the core of everything I do as a Team Leader at Safe Harbour.
Job Title: Care Coordinator
Joined: 2013
I'm Clare Allen, and I proudly serve as the Care Coordinator for both the North and South teams. I've recently completed a decade of dedicated service with our organisation.
In my role, I handle the intricate task of coordinating schedules across a wide service area. My top priority is ensuring that our client's needs are met, which means meticulously planning visit times to accommodate various requirements, such as day centre attendance and critical medication schedules. I also work closely with our care teams, taking into account their availability, especially when some staff have limited working hours.
I've taken the lead in introducing our new live-in care program, and I'm fortunate to have the support of my colleague, Mel, in this endeavour.
