We have been using Right at Home since December 2024 and are truly delighted with the service we have been receiving. We have a carer come to our home for two hours a day, four times a week and the two individuals allocated to us on rotation are both charming people whose company we enjoy. Nothing is
ever too much trouble for either of them to take on and complete in the most helpful and efficient manner. The Manager is also excellent and extremely helpful and clearly has the respect of all her carers.

Right at Home have been incredibly responsive in our request for help in caring for my brother who is a private and reclusive man living alone and not used to having people around him.
The carer has been amazing in building a rapport with him and persuading him to accept the care and attention he now
needs.
The management team are very helpful and pro-active in addressing additional problems we have encountered and are able to quickly respond to our request to increase his care provision immediately.
We fully recommend this company for their empathy, understanding and excellent care provision.

We have been using Right at Home since July 2024 initially for both my stepfather and my mother and now just for my mother as my stepfather passed away in August. I have found the team to be so empathic and helpful. They really care about my mum and have gone out of their way to build a super relationship
with both mum and myself. They are proactive, always suggesting recommendations to make Mum more comfortable in her own home. They listen to her needs and requirements and provide her with the support she needs. They are also super flexible, nothing ever seems to be a problem. I would absolutely have no hesitation in recommending such a wonderful team. Thank you.

Right at Home Hemel Hempstead have been helping my elderly Dad since January this year. We have an unusual situation as Dad lives on a narrowboat in Apsley Marina. He is fiercely independent and even with his many health issues and poor mobility, doesn't think he needs any help which has been really
challenging. They help him Monday to Friday for 45 minutes, walking the dog, helping him keep on top of his housework, washing his hair and assisting with eye drops when needed. We are trying to keep him on the boat for as long as we can, which is what he wants more than anything and Right at Home are key to helping us with this. It hasn't been plain sailing as Dad can be difficult but the team there ring me with any concerns and we work together to find a solution. I live two hours away so it's peace of mind for myself and my siblings that Dad is getting regular help. They are really helpful and I highly recommend them.

Manage the care for a 92-year-old client - started with a visit a day then graduated to 4 per day - now have just gone to 'live in' care in the last month.
Right at Home always make sure there is an appropriate member of staff to attend the scheduled visit times and during the visits, duties around
the house are carried out, as required.
A good service, with attention paid to the needs and requirements of the client.

My father has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He was starting to struggle with mornings and evenings. Right at Home were able to step in very quickly and provide help. My father, although a bit reluctant to start with, now really appreciates his carers and how they help him. I would also add, this
company also provided home help for my mother-in-law and my mother. They have never let us down, and their carers are amazing people.

The team have been incredibly supportive throughout this process, a brand new experience for the family as a whole and they made it so much easier to swallow. Even down to providing general advice outside of their caregiving role to make the situation easier to manage and how to access wider support
available. It was a long process onboarding my mother to accept that outside care was needed and they have been an excellent partner in making that transition.

We met the care manager in September 2023 and she met my father-in-law, put him at ease straight away and discussed all the necessary requirements in a friendly, easy-to-understand manner.
We set up carers coming in morning and night and, initially my father-in-law was against it - he felt he didn't
need or want help. This didn't put off the team and they worked relentlessly to get their job done and get my father-in-law onside. Two months on and it's all working brilliantly. My father-in-law looks forward to his carers' visits, they can't do enough for him and communication with us is great - there is no request that is too big or too small.
They seem to go over and above what they need to do - with a Christmas party and their wishes come true scheme. They seem to genuinely care about my father-in-law's happiness and well-being.
I would highly recommend Right at Home (Hemel Hempstead).

We were a family in crisis and within hours of contacting Right at Home, we had a care manager in our home assessing our needs and providing invaluable support and advice. A care plan for my dad was put into action within the week.
Dad's needs were always the main focus, but those of the wider family
were also taken into account and all decisions were made together, as a team. Dad was encouraged to remain as independent as possible and the caregivers never tried to take over.
After only a couple of days of care, we were over our crisis and Dad was able to look after himself again, so we were able to cease the care plan. I'm sure the support we received from Right at Home played a large part in his quick recovery. We would not hesitate in engaging with Right at Home again in the future if the need arose and we would highly recommend them.

It is our first time using home care services. The whole team have been extremely helpful in guiding us through the process, making lots of helpful suggestions and being really flexible, as Mum's needs have changed. The carer has been so kind and thoughtful, I really wish we had started using them sooner.

The care and support given to my mother by her carers and the management team at Right at Home have always been outstanding.
The carers have always been the same regular carers and consistent. Any new carers are introduced to my mother.
Any concerns about my mother's health and well-being have always

All staff at Right At Home - carers and management - are always helpful, polite and friendly, while also delivering a very professional service. It has been a great help to have the carers on hand for daily assistance in small things - shopping or medication for example - or for greater help when necessary.
It is very reassuring to know your relative is being well treated in a consistent and reliable way when you can't be around to help out. Right At Home have always kept me informed of any issues that they might observe so that we can plan together how they are managed. Additionally, Right At Home were great all through the pandemic lockdowns when they kept my relative safe when I had responsibilities for another elderly relative.

I am the proud Owner/Director of Right at Home Hemel Hempstead, an award-winning quality Homecare provider, loved by people who we are honoured to serve.


By background, I was an offshore structural consultant in the oil & gas industry, and although proud of my engineering career, I was always in pursuit of something more meaningful for my heart and soul. I wanted to dedicate all my energy and passion to bringing a smile to someone’s face or reducing their pain.


Noticing my own parents growing older and gradually beginning to require help was also a contributing factor to my decision to begin my homecare journey. Most recently, seeing my dad in a hospital bed and accompanying him on his way to a planned surgery was quite heartbreaking.


Multiple times, with 2024 being the most recent time, we have been awarded as the “Top 20 Home Care Providers East of England 2024” by Homecare.co.uk, which is a testimony to the exceptional quality of the care delivered by the kind souls in my team who have dedicated their lives helping others.

"I came into care by chance, I was a domestic assistant working in a local hospital but spent most of my time talking to patients, getting them cups of tea whilst they waiting for transportation to go home, then one of the nurses mentioned I’d make a good carer, and that was it, I started in a local nursing home, working nights and now some 30 years on I can honestly say, I love my job with a passion!


I have been a Registered Manager for residential care and domiciliary care.


Having cared for and supported people living with Dementia I became a Dementia Friend and volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Society. I also have Level 5 in Lead & Manage Dementia Care.


I also have an accredited trainer certificate and conduct our caregiver training.


We at Right at Home, Hemel Hempstead aim to make wishes come true, and have so far made so many wishes come true for our many wonderful clients this to me is such a humbling experience and why I look forward to each and every day.

How would you describe your role?


I manage a team of CareGivers, this includes making sure that our team are fully supported in their roles and that clients' needs are fully met.


What did you do before joining Right at Home?


I have always been involved in health and social care in some capacity, this has included the CareGiver role, senior role and manager role. I have also been involved in training caregivers to help them achieve their level 2 and 3 qualifications. As soon as I took on the role of caregiver at the age of 18, I knew that this was where I was supposed to be.


What do you enjoy most about your job?


I enjoy seeing the daily difference we make as a team to our clients and families.


What has been your proudest moment at Right at Home HH?


My proudest moment has been being promoted to Deputy Manager, in this position I feel that I am able to make a real difference to everyone we support. I make sure that care is personalised to individual needs and that caregivers are given the support to do this.


What do you want to achieve at Right at Home HH?


I want to grow the clients and team to support people to remain in their homes for as long as possible with quality care.


What are the qualities you look for in a CareGiver?


Qualities I look for in a caregiver are empathy, honesty, and a passion for working in the sector.


Caregivers also need to want to make a difference in the lives of those they support.
