Right at Home (Medway) is a provider of home care services to enable adults and elderly people to live at home as independently, and as long as possible in their own homes. A wide range of services are offered as follows:

   - Personal Care

   - Live in Care

   - Dementia assistance

   - Hospital to home assistance

   - Palliative care

   - Companionship

   - Medication assistance

   - Meal preparation

   - Long and short term services

   - Any much more...

This provider operates a 'No Stranger Policy', which means that CareGivers are introduced to each Client before any care is ever given.

Right at Home (Medway) CareGivers offer a discreet service, therefore do not wear uniforms.

Their preferred minimum care visit is one hour, and staff travel in their own time, not the client's. This allows staff to listen to clients and get to know them well, to complete tasks properly and to observe any changes in their health or well-being at an early stage.

I have used various caring companies but found Right at Home to be elitist in caring, they provide a bespoke service and are the only caring company I have used that actually do what they say they will do. They have provided care for my mother since March of this year. I find the company and all the
staff to be extremely helpful and willing to resolve any issues swiftly and with professionalism. I could see all the carers have been provided with excellent training, finding them to be conscientious, kind, helpful and prepared to do whatever was asked of them. It's a pleasure to have met them, they have great personalities and positive attitudes.

Apart from a couple of blips, I am very happy with the care I receive.
Also, management and owner can be approached easily.

It was way back in December 2018 that Right at Home (Medway) came to our rescue when our previous CareGivers decided they did not wish to provide personal care any longer for my wife. Since that day our personal CareGivers have provided personal care in a professional way far above what could have been
expected for my wife. My wife needs a lot of 'tender loving care' and attention, and this has been provided by her personal CareGivers readily, with a smile, and when necessary, with a laugh. Her personal CareGivers have always arrived on the agreed time and on many occasions have had to listen with interest whenever my wife reminisces about her garden and the like. When my wife's two principal personal CareGivers are not available their two 'shadows' followed in their footsteps and provide the same quality of care to which my wife is now accustomed. This certainly demonstrates an excellent degree of training and an extremely good Management Team. I have purposely refrained from mentioning names but the CareGivers will easily recognise themselves and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts for their dedicated care and attention. Without their attention to my wife's requirements, we would not have been able to have stayed in our own home. The Management Team have gone out of their way to provide extra care whenever my wife required it, including providing assistance for her urgent hospital visit at very short notice. A special mention should be made of one member of the Management Team who appears to have the magical ability to override our Doctor's receptionist's insistence the Doctor does not perform home visits and gets my wife numerous home visits when necessary. The best Christmas present ever was the visit from the District Nurse on Christmas Day. Not only overcoming the Doctor's receptionist, but this particular Management Team member also appears to have a direct line to Santa Claus as well. Besides providing personal care for my wife, I have not been forgotten; I get my shirts ironed, occasionally. Keep up the excellent care and management that you are providing and long may you prosper.

My family and I have been receiving help for personal care from Right at Home for my wife, who has dementia and mobility problems, for about four months. Our requirement, at the moment, is for only one hour on one day per week with additional attendance to cover for family holidays. This sort of requirement
cannot be easy to fit in with their other commitments but Right at Home seems to take it in their stride.
I have found that Right at Home runs a very professional company combined with a genuine desire to provide compassion and care. Although they are a commercial enterprise I have come to regard them as more like friends of the family than paid care providers.

My Mother and I are both extremely pleased with the level of care provided. Although I never met the carer, my mother was very happy having her in the house and she did everything that was asked of her and was polite and punctual. I did meet one member of staff on a few occasions and he also was very
helpful and understanding of my mother’s needs. He also was very polite and punctual and answered all our questions quickly and positively.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.929 for Right at Home (Medway) is calculated as follows: ( (146 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 155 Ratings = 4.929

I grew up in Buckinghamshire and moved to Kent in 1984 when I joined the Police Force as a Police Officer, being posted to Gravesend. After leaving the Police Force I worked in security at Harrods, and House of Fraser before leaving to run a Business Centre in Dartford. I was approached by the Franchise owners of Prestige Nursing to become their Registered manager for 15 years working in various areas, from elderly care, complex care, Autism and children. I then moved to Rosemont Care in Medway for 3 years before joining Right at Home in November 2021. I have achieved my NVQ 4 and 5 as well as a degree in Health and Social Care.
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 cats, Mylo and Felix as well as being the 4th official for Tonbridge Juddians Rugby team who play in National 1. This involves travelling all over the country, along with my husband Peter, who is the Director of Rugby.

Claire spent most of her career working for Her Majesty’s Court Service, where she held several leadership positions and worked at several Magistrates Courts. After having her two children, she decided to focus full-time on raising her young family. During this time she volunteered in various organisations, which focused on Child Care. Claire also retrained and took several qualifications to become a ‘Higher Level Teaching Assistant’, and she has been privileged to work for some wonderful schools and work overseas. Claire's transition from looking after young children in schools, to looking after vulnerable adults in their own home was natural for her, as many of the necessary skills are transferable between both sectors.

When not at work, Claire enjoys travelling to places near and far, painting with watercolours, reading a wide range of topics, and spending lots of quality time with her family.

I have lived in Medway all my life. I am very close to my family, and I have one daughter. After I left school, I worked for Barclays Bank for many years and had various office admin roles.

When my daughter was a little older, I realised that I had a natural flair for creating and designing cakes. From a hobby, I turned my passion into a business where I created bespoke cakes, anything from Wedding cakes to Birthday cakes and much more. I taught clients (including overseas) how to make and decorate their own cakes.

I also worked in Property where I was a Lettings Manager, but somewhere deep inside I had always felt the need to do something rewarding as this was my natural personality. This is what led me to my current role here at Right at Home Medway.

I began as a CareGiver and did all types of care, even doing a little emergency live-in care along the way. I have seen many aspects of the business and am the longest-serving member of the team. I worked my way up and I am now the Recruitment Coordinator.

I am so glad I made the move into care where I feel… well Right at home!

Further to my studies, my qualifications include an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and another NVQ Level 3 in Specialist Dementia Care.

When I am not working, I enjoy watching football, especially Liverpool, and looking after my two cats: Timmy and Tilly.

I have lived in Medway all my life. I attended Rainham School for Girls, and at 16 I left there to start a YTS scheme at British Home Stores where I stayed for 8 years working my way up to Cash Office Manager. I then went to work at the AA (Automobile Association) part-time due to having had my first child. I started off as Call Handler working my way up to Resource Planner Assistant. I stayed there for over 10 years until it closed and I was made redundant.

By this time I had had my family and was blessed with a daughter and 2 sons. I took up Karate with my husband and 2 youngest children. I graded up to Black Belt 2nd Dan, we then went on an instructor’s course. When my youngest was 3 we opened up our own club situated in Black Lions and then in 2009 we had the opportunity to have our own premises where I still am now at Anchorians Sports Grounds in Gillingham. We received Sports England funding so were able to have a bigger place. So I now have a gym as well as a Kickboxing / Boxing club.

Being forced to close due to Covid I looked for work. A friend already working for Right at Home told me they were recruiting, I applied and fortunately got the job which has been such a lifeline for me. Not only have I made some lovely new friends, and met the loveliest clients and I have found such a rewarding job. I was promoted to Senior CareGiver and now I am working in the office assisting the Training Manager and also as a Care Coordinator.

I still run the gym with my eldest son but found working here so rewarding that I have decided to continue my journey here and support my son in running our club.

My hobbies if I get 5 minutes are going to Cinema with my children. We do love a Marvel films, I also enjoy reading and listening to music. But the best times ever are being surrounded by my family, especially now all older it makes those times even more special. Over the next few years, I would also like to travel if I can.
