It is most important that you try to keep to the timings because this causes clients anxiety. When there is delays due to traffic accidents, please call the client and inform them of the delay. There is nothing worse than waiting for a carer without information as to the cause of the delay.

Reply from Samuel Roberts, Partnerships Manager at Helping Hands Home Care (Basingstoke)

Thank you for taking the time to leave us this feedback. We would always expect for you to be informed of any delays that might have been caused, I will be passing your feedback onto the Local Branch Team to investigate this further. Warm regards

Absolutely brilliant, quick to put care package in place.
Matched with 2 lovely carers that carry out a range of personal care, medication reminders and home cleaning jobs like hanging washing out etc

The carers are very pleasant and generally very helpful. The allotted tasks are usually completed with time to spare and it would sometimes help if they looked beyond the usual schedule for ways to help rather than give the impression that they were aiming to finish and leave as quickly as possible.

My Mum has been a client of Helping Hands for a couple of years. The staff are always polite, friendly and efficient meaning I don't have a moment's worry and my Mum is helped to stay living independently at home. The managers are excellent managers, and I couldn't be happier with the services and flexibility
they provide, sometimes at very short notice. Not only are they a key support to my Mum, they are a key support to me.

Excellent service from carers. I am not keen to have a number of different carers I do not know turn up. I understand that it is very difficult for whoever sorts the rota to cover everyone with all the problems and different needs the clients have.
Personally if I knew in advance I would prefer to
have no one rather than someone new each time. I find it hard to accept such personal care with someone I am not used to
I have never been treated in any way by anyone in the organization except with care respect and in a friendly manner.

Job Title: Branch Care Manager

About me

As the manager of the Basingstoke Branch, it is my responsibility to ensure that high-quality care is being delivered and we are offering a safe and effective service to our customers. My job role includes complying with the five KLOES and following CQC guidance to ensure that the service we offer is five stars.

I decided to join the care industry back in 2015 where I started as a carer and the reason behind this is because of the caring nature I have and knowing that I can help others to make a difference or at least contribute to making things easier for others. I am passionate about the care industry and believe that everybody deserves a high standard of care delivered to them.

I am proud of the team at Basingstoke, the carers are always going above and beyond in their job role and always ensuring they put the customers first, the services we offer in Basingstoke are amazing with a wide range of ensuring a person-centred service is delivered.

I have two children, a girl aged 19 and a boy aged 13, I have 2 cats who are definitely part of the family. I do a lot of charity events for my local hospice which supported me and my family whilst my dad was dealing with terminal cancer. He has since passed away. I enjoy spending time with my family and going out with friends.

Experience and expertise

I started in the care industry as a carer and as time has gone on I have stepped up to field care supervisor, care coordinator and now a Branch manager.

I Have my NVQ level 3 In Adult Social care. I am currently doing a college course in Management and Leadership Level 2 and will then go on to do my NVQ level 5 in Leadership and Management.

Why I chose Helping Hands

I choose to come to Helping Hands because of the reviews and reading what they had to offer. I enjoy keeping people within their own homes with families having peace of mind that their loved ones are getting person-centred high-quality care delivered to them.
