Home Instead Dorchester offers home care and companionship with visits lasting a minimum of one hour. They also provide 24 hour care, night care and Live In Care where required and they have a specialism in dementia care.

Whatever the service, Home Instead's ethos remains the same - they help people receive care and remain living independently in their own homes for longer. Their goal will always be to ensure that their clients will always be able to stay living at home no matter what their care needs should that be their wish. Home is where the heart is!

Individuals under Home Instead Dorchester's care are encouraged to express what is important to them, allowing the service they receive to be truly personal. The company believes quality care can't be delivered in 15 or 30 minute short visits. Their aim is to ensure staff are never rushed and have enough time to build strong and lasting bonds with clients so that everyone gets the best out of the service. This gives both clients and families greater happiness and trust in the service offered.

My mothers carer is a breath of fresh air. She is kind, gentle and a good companion when she visits my mum. My mum really appreciates her and feels that her previous funds are well spent with Home Instead.

Every time I've met a carer from Home Instead they've been fully engaged in the task however difficult my aunt was. I've met other carers over the years whilst visiting my clients (in a different area) and I have not felt they enjoyed their job like the Home Instead staff.

Have been looking after my mother for over a year. A few teething problems along the way but cannot fault the care given to my mum and the great liaison with the company. Sometimes above and beyond what has been needed. My mother has always felt secure and that her wishes were being abided by. Would
recommend the company and thank them for all they have done and are continuing to do.

I first made contact with Home Instead in October 2021. My mother had just passed away and I was looking for a home care provider to support my father, who wanted to return to his own home to live, following 4 months of living in a care home. From my initial inquiry and subsequent visits from the home
care manager, I was impressed with your service offerings. I really liked the idea of an hour being the minimum visit, knowing that Dad wouldn't be rushed and he would have a team of 3-4 carers only, meaning that relationships could be built. Service started October 29th 2021 and we haven't been disappointed.
I only wish we'd known about Home Instead while my mum was still alive as she would have been very happy having support from you. Unfortunately, we used a different company at that time and mum found it too difficult to cope with the number of different carers, never knowing who was coming, nor what time, a[nd they were always rushed. We cancelled them after 2 weeks and my parents ended up in a care home.
Nothing is too much trouble with home instead.

All carers are kind and gentle. Extremely supportive of my husband and myself. Always arrive promptly, are cheerful and competent and help to lift our spirits at what is a difficult time. They are very much appreciated and nothing is too much trouble.

I have two carers, both female who alternate so that they share my care. One is several years younger than the other so both have very different things to chat about. They are both happy to do almost anything for me which is much appreciated, including going to the local shop once a week. They carry
out personal care with dignity. I would not change anything.

Having spent three months during the covid19 lockdown without a carer or physiotherapist, we were recommended to the care company. The carer who comes promptly at 9:00 am each day is not only an SR nurse in previous times, but is very knowledgable in other fields of care too. We will be most sorry to
lose her if in the future she leaves the company.

When contacted, as care was required urgently. The office took immediate action, and my parents now have two wonderful carers, who are kind, engaging, thoughtful, who are a joy and easy to have in the house for six hours they are here. We highly recommend Home Instead.

After a very poor experience with a previous care provider, it has come as a huge relief to find a care firm that is both reliable and responsive to my parent's needs. They both have dementia, and we are keen for them to remain in their home as long as possible, so good care is very important.
We are
sent the same staff every week, which has helped them build a proper relationship with my parents. They are all lovely and will often go the extra mile to ensure they are happy and comfortable.
Medication is always administered correctly, and communication is good with us being given regular feedback.

Hi, I am the owner of Home Instead in Dorchester.


I moved to Dorset from Surrey in 2010 and immediately loved the fantastic scenery and the unique feeling of community in this town and the local area.


I have responsibility for the overall direction of Home Instead Dorchester, working with our Care Manager and our team of dedicated Care Professionals.


I can usually be found in the office making sure everything is running smoothly or out and about in our local Dorset community talking about what we do and how we can support the older people in our towns, villages and surrounding rural areas.


Prior to setting up the Home Instead Senior Care Dorchester in early 2019, I worked in senior managerial roles at financial institutions in London and then moved on to gain over 10 years experience of in owning and running a successful group of regional residential nursing homes for the elderly in West Sussex.


I have developed a motivation to provide top-class care solutions for our ageing population and have a strong belief that there is no place like home when it comes to making our clients the most comfortable they can be. I want to enable them to experience the very best service and our beliefs that only care good enough for our own loved ones is good enough for our clients.
