Helping Hands' Bath branch provides fully flexible home care packages delivered by carers who get to know each individual before their care starts.

The whole care team is employed directly by the company, which offers both visiting home care and live in care. Additional services include domiciliary care for extra support, specialist dementia care, elderly care and respite care.

Helping Hands' live in care package includes one-to-one support and personal care, medication administration and more in your home, around the clock, accommodating all conditions such as tetraplegia.

The hours and care included in visiting care are completely up to the service user - they can be as short as 30 minutes or consist of several overnight stays depending on their needs. All levels of care are available, including outside the home.

As we live a fair distance from our mother, we can't visit as often as we would like. We have someone come in the morning to give her her meds and perform day-to-day tasks for her. The care and kindness that has been shown by Helping Hands has been exemplary.

The lead carer has been nothing short of kind, supportive, professional, authentic in her care for my mother. In addition Helping Hands have been organised, extremely well managed , they are responsive to queries, provide sound advice and have helped me cope and adjust to very new and stressful circumstances
which I have massively appreciated, thank you all.

Dad's been having carer help for around 6 months which takes the stress away from mum. A great group of people, friendly and helpful, you get a phone call if they're having to find a replacement or if a carer has gone sick, which is helpful.

Helping Hands took over the care of my mum after the reablement team. The transition was smooth and the management team were very professional, creating a care plan which was suitable and allowed my mum still to feel that she had her independence, dignity and that she feels safe. The carers themselves
I cannot thank enough. They genuinely care and nothing has been any trouble. They are very flexible and really practical in coming up with solutions for things my mum has found difficult.

Good. The girls come only in the evening. They are cheerful, able to think for themselves and caring.

I was very pleased to use Helping Hands to support my mother. They were very flexible and adaptable, and I would not hesitate to use them again. We asked them to provide additional afternoon support which they were very happy to do - without them, the whole care arrangement for my Ma would have failed.

I have been P O A for a very independent elderly neighbour who we have been looking after for many years. However, his sight was failing and he developed a few other problems. When the virus caused us all to go into lockdown it meant that quite a few people that had been helping him remain independent
had to go into isolation including myself and my husband. I had heard good reports of Helping Hands so I contacted them and straight away they responded to my request and put in place exactly what we needed. They have always responded promptly to any request which has been so reassuring. One of the things I liked about them was their concerns for the elderly gentleman and were able to give helpful advice.
I would have no hesitation to recommend them to anyone who is needing care and I am grateful for their support at a very difficult time. The elderly gentleman has now gone into a care home.

Job Title: Branch Care Manager

About me

At Helping Hands Bath & Keynsham, my main role is to ensure that we provide high-quality of care and a safe service. I make sure that the branches run smoothly day-to-day ensuring that both customers and carers are happy and have the best positive outcomes.

Providing person-centred care and support.

I joined helping hands in Oct 2021 but have worked in care for over fifteen years, starting as a carer for a domiciliary provider in Bristol. I then joined a children's charity in Bristol that provided short breaks for disabled children ages 8-18 within a residential setting, after ten
years I was ready for my next challenge. I joined Helping Hands as a Care & Training Practitioner, then Care Coordinator and now Branch Manager. I have always wanted to work in care since I was in school. I am very proud of my team who are hard-working, caring, diverse and inspirational.

A bit about me - I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends, enjoying pub quizzes, movies and eating out. I have two children who I am very proud of and two cats. My perfect day would be sitting beside an open fire with my family and friends.

My experience and expertise

I have had various roles throughout my career, starting at Somerfield Store I worked within the Voice Department at the head office based in Bristol as a Voice Analyst and later as a Security Services Analyst for BT. I have worked as a receptionist and PA for a software
development company. I worked as a carer for a few years while my children were young and then joined a charity that provided short breaks for disabled children. There I was a Senior Administrator - running the home day-to-day alongside the Registered Manager. I
joined Helping Hands in Oct 2021 as a Care & Training Practitioner and moved up to Care Coordinator and now Branch Manager.

I have 2 Level 3 Diplomas’ in Business Administration and Residential Childcare. I am currently studying for a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management.

Why I chose Helping Hands

I was looking for my next challenge, now that my children are older I was able to dedicate my time to my career. I wanted to stay working in care and I had always enjoyed the training aspect of my old role, so I went for the Care & Training Practitioner role at Helping Hands. I
had heard good things about the company from a friend who had also started working for Helping Hands.

I am very happy to be promoted to Branch Manager and feel proud. I am really looking forward to supporting as many customers as we can to stay at home, to have the care and support needed to achieve this.

I am passionate about providing the best care we can, and about growing the branches to be able to support more people to stay at home. I enjoy meeting people and learning about our customers' lives, their stories and life history.
