Established in 2001, Radis started as a small local provider of visiting care services primarily for older people. Underpinned by a strong Vision and strong set of Values Radis has grown to become a leading provider of care across many regions of England and Wales, supporting people of all ages and with a wide spectrum of needs in many different community setting. Radis supports many thousands of people to live independently in their own homes, providing a wide range of care and support services, for people with diverse backgrounds and needs. Each person is treated as an individual and services are tailored to them.

Live-in is unlike other types of care, where a fully trained carer stays with you in your own home, rather than just popping in to visit. This means that you will have access to flexible support throughout the day or even overnight when you need it, with the peace of mind of knowing a helping hand is close by.

Radis’ live-in care provides support to people with many different needs and circumstances.

Maybe you just want a companion to give you peace of mind someone is there? Perhaps your needs are changing or unpredictable? Or do you have a disability, suffer from dementia, Parkinson’s or other long-term condition? Even with nursing care needs, live-in care can be suitable for many people. No two people need the same support, but here are some examples of how live-in can support you:

- Preparing and eating meals
- Household chores
- Getting up in the morning and going to bed
- Washing and dressing
- Going to the toilet and continence care
- Help with (including administration of) medicines
- Getting out and about to shops and other places
- Looking after pets
- Health needs, including nursing care

We have used Radis live-in care for 2 years to provide the assistance my Mum and Dad both needed in order to stay together in their own home. After it became apparent that visiting carers 4 times a day was not enough continuous care for my parents, we found Radis.
The live-in carer and temporary cover
at all times were kind, attentive, friendly, professional and brilliant at the job we couldn't do.
They provided personal support and great meals, helped with housework and were an essential help to me too, otherwise it would not have been possible to keep Mum and Dad at home for so long.
I would not hesitate for a second in recommending using Radis for any family in need of care at home.
Five stars for care and attention and value for money.

My father was shown absolute kindness for his needs. My father was a difficult person and pushed the live-in carer to their limit, but they persevered and made his time with them comfortable.
So much appreciation for the carers and management.
Highly recommend.

My experience with Radis was really excellent - I was so fortunate to find such a competent team to lead the care and support me in looking after my aunt over a period of over three years of her slowly declining health. She was cared for by two really long-term carers who were absolutely brilliant -
personable, trustworthy, kind and competent - and with whom she formed a strong personal bond. The Radis supervisor sorted everything out and took all the stress and worry out of finding carers and then relief carers to fill in during holidays. I don't know how I would have managed without them and I am extremely grateful to the whole team. Thank you.

After sadly losing Mum unexpectedly, we needed additional support to help with Dad's complex palliative needs. I was anxious about going on holiday while being able to ensure Dad's ongoing care needs were met. Radis provided a live-in carer while I was away. The manager came to discuss his personal
preferences, needs and how they could best support him. They understood both his health and personal needs, including that he was grieving for my mum. The carer that came was kind, skilled and experienced, while also respecting Dad's need for privacy, respect and desire for independence as much as possible. While I was away Dad's health unfortunately declined, but his carer supported his needs, ensuring communication with me, his doctor and the hospital, keeping me updated as much as possible. I cannot express how grateful both my dad and I were for this support. I would recommend Radis Live In Carers, for both long-term support or for that much-needed respite - the difference it made was immeasurable.

Thank you Jacqueline for your lovely review. I am so pleased to hear that your experience with Radis was a good one and that we were able to help and support you all through such difficult times. We often forget about the pressure on informal carers and I am so pleased that you were able to get a much-needed and deserved break away.
Kindest regards.

Dad needed extra care when he came out of hospital and we were told about the 24 hour care service.
This has made all the difference as Dad has been able to stay in his own home, with support. All the carers have been lovely and look after his needs very well. Dad seems so much happier now!

Radis Community Care (Live-in Services) has been providing care for my husband for the last three months of his journey of living with Motor Neurone Disease.
From the start I was impressed with the professionalism of the care plans and the support our carer received during his time with us. His training
and performance was carefully managed through regular liaison with us to ensure he was settling in well. I have every confidence in the organisation. My husband has quite complex needed requiring feeding and meds through his RIG five times a day, support with his home ventilation equipment, mobility, dressing and personal care.
On a personal level, the live-in carer was a good fit for my husband and I and we now consider him part of our family. He was thoughtful, diligent, friendly and kind and it was a pleasure having him living in our home.

We have been using Radis Community Care since November 2021 to look after my mother. All your carers were very attentive and respected her home and gave her excellent care. We did have a couple of carers from another agency as Radis had not got any cover however these were not very good and had to terminate
their care.

Care was provided under NHS continuing care contract. The live-in carer worked with daily travelling carers. We had mixed results three very good carers and two very bad carers. Due to demand and supply in the carer industry, it was not always possible to get Radis to provide carers. Two of these carers
were not capable and could not be described as carers. Following complaints, Radis acted very quickly to remove the unsuitable carers.
When it works, it works very well - when it doesn’t, it’s a real safeguarding issue.
As a relative, you have to watch what is happening until you are confident of the care being provided and raise any concerns immediately; the Radis care manager was excellent in addressing and resolving issues when they happened.
The rest of the review is regarding the last carer we had, who was excellent.

Reply from Jay Symons, National Live In Manager at Radis Community Care (Live-in Services)

Thank you, Richard, for your well-balanced feedback. I am sorry to hear that there were odd occasions when your mum had unsuitable non-Radis carers, and I thank you for the time you have taken to feed this back to us. We use all feedback to review and monitor our services ongoing, and I am pleased to report that we have really tightened our processes in relation to any non-Radis staff we need to use for Radis clients.
I am so pleased that overall, you were very satisfied with the care and service provided to your mum and that you did not experience any problems with the employed Radis live-in carers. It is also great to read that you feel the management team acted quickly to resolve your concerns and that the service manager assigned to your mum's care was "excellent".
Kind regards.

They match expectations and go on to excel. One did an extremely messy job; thanking my stars, I did not have to do the job myself!
They are good at doing the jobs that I used to before I became ill, very well indeed.

The live-in carer has been with my parents for several weeks now and has been excellent throughout. She quickly built a bond with my parents. She is always alert to their needs and is very attentive but also allows them their own space. She goes above and beyond to make sure they are getting all the
care and support they need. Thanks to her my parents are still happily together and in their own home.

The care was good. The family got on well with carers. I think the downside of dad's care was the food and cooking.

Radis Community Care (Live-in Services) has been providing care for my friend for a year. The live-in carer has been looking after her providing everything she needs day or night, the service she provides is more than anyone would expect. My friend is so happy to have her as her carer. The agency supports
the live-in carer all the time. If we didn't have the live-in carer as her carer my friend would not be in her home today. As her friend, I would like to thank the live-in carer and Radis very much.

The service provided has been adequate but frustrating at times due to language barriers with not very fluent English with some of the carers. Also frustrating that I cannot have the carers I have connected with.

Reply from Jay Symons, National Live In Manager at Radis Community Care (Live-in Services)

We are sorry that you do not feel you have received the best service from Radis Live-in Services. I understand that you requested a specific carer but as discussed with you, the carer is only available for short-term placements due to personal circumstances. It is for this reason we have not been able to fulfil your request to have this carer return permanently.
Although we were not made aware until recently that you were unhappy with the carer who has been looking after you long-term, I do hope you have found the manner in which we have dealt with your concerns acceptable and that you are satisfied with the steps we have confirmed we will take to reach a better outcome for you.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your feedback and confirm that we will use this to improve our services further.

Radis supplied and managed full-time live-in care for my lovely mum for over 4 years. Although there were occasions where we had our difficult moments it was mostly brought about by 3rd party issues and our care managers always did their very best to resolve things as fairly and quickly as possible.
In
my view, Radis as a company are professional and conscientious in all respects. As difficult as the job can be at times the manager and the team also manage to retain a pragmatic level of flexibility and common sense when required.
Regardless of who supplies the care, most importantly I believe it’s crucial to establish a clear understanding of what specific care is required for any individuals need. As a son, I knew my mum well and all her ways, finding the right care person as a companion is as important as the practical care and I think it’s true to say that the Radis team understood this and worked hard with me to fulfil this need.
Overall I would highly recommend Radis to anybody.
