Ashwell Home Care is a family run domiciliary care provider with a drive and passion to make a real difference to the lives of all clients.

Ashwell Home Care believes that a provider of care in the client's home should be viewed as an extra pair of helping hands. This will enable clients to remain to live at home as independently as possible and involved at all stages about making decisions concerning the client's needs.

The agency both have relatives who have used Home Care Services, so they both know first-hand the anxieties, reservations and pre-conceived ideas that service users and their relatives may have about considering Home Care as an option.

They deliver nothing less than the highest standards of respect, dignity, honesty and trust in all areas of the business.

All staff are recruited to deliver the company vision and values and they form an integral part of the process of the care delivery.

Home Care Services view the people who use the services as ‘family members’ rather than service users because staff will look after them as they would members of their own family. Staff are seen as ‘care companions’ as they offer both care and companionship. This is the culture of inclusion adopted in the organisation.

  • Our rates are the same Monday through to Sunday. We make no additional charges at weekends. As well as the delivery of care and support our rates also include contacting GP surgeries, chemists, district nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists.


    Our clients also have free access to a family and friends portal which gives instant access to see what has taken place during the care visit

My 98-year-old dad was discharged from hospital still recovering from a severe chest infection, we the family were only able to give practical help, he needed more. I was lucky enough to be able to engage Ashwell to make a daily visit to help with his personal needs and keep the flat tidy. The Director,
the Manager and the team have been wonderful, always punctual and reliable, easy to communicate with, and showing a genuine interest in dad's welfare. He has now made a good recovery, I'd like to give huge thanks for the care provided, and would wholeheartedly recommend Ashwell Home Care Services.

Ashwell Home Care is the platinum standard service other care providers should aim for. They select and recruit staff very carefully as a first point. Then no member of staff visits my parents' home unless they have been introduced to them and new staff always shadow another to learn about my father.
They have robust documentation so that all carers know the individual care my dad needs. They respond appropriately to changes in his condition and treat him at every interaction with respect, dignity and compassion. My mother is his primary carer and Ashwell Home Care support her incredibly in this role and day-to-day. Ashwell provide respite care and shopping to my parents in addition to personal care for my father. The management is present and hands on which means they have a good working knowledge of the care needed and being provided. We are very grateful for their support over the last couple of years and they go above and beyond every day.

Exceptional! From the initial discussions with Ashwell right through to the day-to-day support they are now providing we have found them to be first-class. They were quick to meet the initial requirements that have rapidly turned into additional support morning and evening, 7 days a week. Ashwell have
come up quickly with a plan that meets these increasing needs. 5 stars to the whole team, very importantly every carer has been professional, friendly, easily accepted and demonstrated that they really do care. The manager is really approachable, knows what she's doing and has built a great team under her both at the coalface and in the office.

Ashwell provided companionship calls to Mum three times a week. The carers who visited were friendly, helpful and Mum always looked forward to their visits. It was always easy to speak to the administrative staff and make any required changes, they were always flexible and supportive.
The online notes
detailing each visit to Mum was very useful and provided an extra layer of reassurance. New staff were always introduced to Mum before they visited. We have now moved Mum to a nursing home as her needs have changed but she still remembers her visits and the carers with affection.

Ashwell Home Care Services have been providing first-class care to my father for several months now. The carers attend punctually and provide professional assistance but also show great empathy and patience. At times they have had to deal with less than cooperative behaviour but they have done this
gently and without complaint. I can highly recommend them.

I am doing this review to thank Ashwell Home Care for the kindness and care shown to my mum. At 97 years old Mum is set in her ways and doesn't think she needs help or carers. Mum has only had praise for the carers that call on her at lunchtime. We as a family are so grateful to these lovely ladies.
Any concerns we might have are sorted straight away. We can't thank Ashwell Home Care enough. Our heartfelt thanks to the Manager and her wonderful team.

My father had a home care service from Ashwell for a few weeks recently. Unfortunately, they had to give him notice due to staffing problems, which are so prevalent in social care at this time. This was a great shame as we were very pleased with the care that was provided. The carers were all kind,
well trained, and professional. They came on time and were always happy to help in whatever way was needed. The management were friendly and approachable and the impression I got in the short period my father had the service, was that they have high standards. The care workers we met seemed happy working for the company. We have had experience of several home care providers in the area and I would have no hesitation in recommending Ashwell.

The carers were all dedicated to ensuring that my father was comfortable and safe at all times. No request was too much trouble for them, and a close relationship was established over a short period of time. A very caring nature was displayed by the carers and I cannot praise them highly enough having
seen them with my father at first hand. They are very much a credit to the passion and ethos shown by the owners of the company. They should be exceptionally proud of the superb service provided. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

I can't praise Ashwell Home Care Services enough, unfortunately, they were only taking care of my mother-in-law for a very short period of time as she passed away. But from the time of our enquiry, we were so impressed, the owner came out to see us and meet with my mother-in-law, just a day after we

There just aren’t enough words to say how fantastic Ashwell is! This is how care should be done. Ashwell look after my father who has severe Alzheimer’s. He is cared for with so much compassion and dignity. The lovely carers turn up on time, and never am I left worrying whether they will turn up. They
cook him beautiful meals, play cards with him, and during this pandemic when I’ve not been able to get to him, they have gone above and beyond for dad, getting him extra shopping, going back to him on their break to make sure he’s ok, etc. We have experienced terrible care before Ashwell came into our lives, every day I count my blessings that we now have the best care that dad could possibly get. Thank you, everyone, at Ashwell, you’ve changed mine and dad's life over the last 10 months.

Ashwell are the most caring and professional people I have ever come across. They help me care for my partner. She responds to them and looks forward to seeing them and they have been a lifesaver for me. They make you feel you are part of a family. They have been helping me look after my partner for

My frail 94-year-old Dad eventually appreciated that he could no longer cope independently in his own home. He absolutely refused to enter a care home and reluctantly agreed to assistance at home. We interviewed several care agencies and were most impressed by Ashwell Home Care Services. Their understanding
of our needs and friendly, excellent staff soon put Dad at ease and he looked forward to every visit. Sadly, Dad has now reached the stage where he needs 24-hour care but the interim care period covered by Ashwell has been outstanding and I can't thank the team enough. Dad will certainly miss the companionship, 'banter', and of course, care provided by the whole team.

What inspired me to open Ashwell Home Care Services ?

Prior to my husband and I opening Ashwell Home Care Services I had been working as a Deputy Manager in a Residential Care Home. I realised that although the staff who worked there were competent and caring there were inconsistencies in the level of care and support given. My husband’s family had received care at home and the experience was not always good, this put pressure on us as a family as we weren’t involved or consulted by the agencies they used.


We felt that there was a real gap in the market for a care agency who wanted to transform the way that care is delivered in the community. Also, where the person receiving the care was made to feel like the most special person in the world and where we involved their families so that we could work together to improve the quality of the lives of those receiving the care. With this as our goal Ashwell Home Care Services was started and our journey began.

I started working in the Care sector over 20 years ago as a night care assistant and immediately knew that I had found my calling. My mother tells me that when I was a child, I wanted to be a doctor, not one who did injections or operations but one who helped people who weren’t feeling well and did what I could to make them better. It took me 2 children and a 17 year career working in the Travel Industry to realise my dream and now I spend every day making a difference to the people that we care for and support and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WHAT WE DO!

I am passionate about working with our clients and their families to improve their quality of life and to keep them living in their own homes for as long as they can. I also love being a voice for clients who haven’t got any family to rely on to make sure that they get the care they deserve. It gives me a great deal of pride to work alongside my husband and our daughter as well as our amazing team to offer a truly family focussed and driven experience and to make a real difference to the people we support.

It's because of this experience that Ashwell Home Care Services was founded from a desire to provide a level of care that transforms the way in which care is delivered within the community.

My name is Sandy Wisby, I was born in Hastings - East Sussex and have a younger sister.


I first started my journey in care at 15 years old visiting a local Nursing home and taking around tea after school and at weekends.


I then when I left school was given a full-time job there and while there, went and did Auxiliary training at the Royal East Sussex Hospital.


I have always worked in care for the last 45 years in various roles in a Hospice, I moved from East Sussex to Gloucestershire in 1989.


To work as a Manager both on a residential farm with Adults with learning disabilities, and then in various Domiciliary care settings.


Care is in my blood written right through me like a stick of rock.


My Career Highlights - Enabling positive transitions for adults with learning difficulties to move successfully from long stay institutions, to living active and positive lives within the community, supporting them to obtain work or work experience and achieve their goals preferences and wishes, with the opportunity for the ability to move onto supported semi independent living, and eventually where appropriate complete independent living within the community.
Enabling elderly and frail adults to be supported by carers delivering quality care, enabling and supporting them to be empowered to be at the centre of their person centred care, and to maintain their or increase their independence for as long as possible, so as to be able to remain in their own home for as long as they wish safely. Supporting and enabling End of Life Care to take place at home, and working alongside other professionals involved to achieve an individual’s and their family`s wishes, aspirations, preferences, choices and goals, for a positive end of life experience for all


I have a partner who used to be a flat race jockey, and we now have Appaloosa horses, whom we show, breed and are both ridden and driven, they are sports horses who do well in, Dressage and show jumping, and we also have an amazing but very old short legged jack Russell.


My Role at the moment is Care Quality Manager at AHCS
I am quite new to the company joining in January 2024 and I love the family feel of the company, the the care that is embedded throughout the company for not just the client but the staff as well. It's a real team environment with a great sense of humour and laughter at its core.
