Ashwell Home Care is a family run domiciliary care provider with a drive and passion to make a real difference to the lives of all clients.

Ashwell Home Care believes that a provider of care in the client's home should be viewed as an extra pair of helping hands. This will enable clients to remain to live at home as independently as possible and involved at all stages about making decisions concerning the client's needs.

The agency both have relatives who have used Home Care Services, so they both know first-hand the anxieties, reservations and pre-conceived ideas that service users and their relatives may have about considering Home Care as an option.

They deliver nothing less than the highest standards of respect, dignity, honesty and trust in all areas of the business.

All staff are recruited to deliver the company vision and values and they form an integral part of the process of the care delivery.

Home Care Services view the people who use the services as ‘family members’ rather than service users because staff will look after them as they would members of their own family. Staff are seen as ‘care companions’ as they offer both care and companionship. This is the culture of inclusion adopted in the organisation.

  • Our rates are the same Monday through to Sunday. We make no additional charges at weekends. As well as the delivery of care and support our rates also include contacting GP surgeries, chemists, district nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists.


    Our clients also have free access to a family and friends portal which gives instant access to see what has taken place during the care visit

I thought I did not require care. How different my life has been since having my carer coming in daily. I realise how lonely the days must have been without seeing anyone. Thank you to everyone I have come into contact with. I now feel so much more in touch with the outside world - ready to get out
again after so long in isolation.

Ashwell - a caring, compassionate, attentive, friendly, supportive, trusting, honest, professional service. I cannot thank them enough and especially 2 members of staff in particular for the day-to-day care of my Mum who has been diagnosed, bless her, with Vascular Dementia. It has been extremely hard
due to Covid in so many ways for so many people. However Ashwell, in the short space of time, have achieved all of the above. My Mum is so well looked after. Mum is happy in her “Own Little World”, that’s what it’s all about. Ashwell, you are doing fantastic, I cannot recommend you enough.

Ashwell Home Care Services is our first experience with a home care team. We are very pleased to say from the management to the carers they are very professional in smartly dressed uniforms, honest, warm, understanding and very considerate to your needs. When talking to you they are very respectable
and polite. If a problem arises you may ring the office and there is always someone to help and advise you on the matter of concern which can be a great relief to know this. They would always help if possible or point you in the right direction. We class ourselves very fortunate to have such care and support.

I cannot begin to rate Ashwell Care highly enough. The level of care that they provide for my mum is second to none, and living abroad, I have complete peace of mind that Mum is happy, healthy and looked after as if she is their own family member. In addition to this, I regularly use the app which allows
me to download reports daily to see what Mum has been getting up to, check that she has been drinking enough and eating enough! Any time my siblings and I have had concerns that Mum is forgetting to eat or drink, the Ashwell team have provided solutions and put in extra steps in their care plan to ensure that Mum has everything she needs. They are extremely knowledgable, and they care for and love Mum as much as we do, and for that, we are extremely grateful. We cannot thank the team at Ashwell enough for the outstanding level of care they give to my Mum; they are an amazing team and truly the most lovely people.

Like any daughter considering introducing carers into a parent's world, I was extremely conscious of ensuring my mother would be cared for, kept safe and treated with the kindness and respect she deserves. Ashwell delivered all this and handled our changing needs and short notice requests with good
grace and good advice. The carers who visited mum were well selected and very professional, some of them even made mum laugh. The management team is experienced, knowledgeable and keen to help. I was always confident that if there was something we didn't like they would have listened to our concerns and worked with us to resolve it.

The agency stepped in after Mum had a fall and really needed help. The regular staff are described as cheerful, lovely and "make her day". At a time when we are not able to visit or have Mum to stay Ashwell staff have kept Mum cheerful and given us reassurance that someone is seeing her each day and
looking out for her. Mum became interested in a painting television programme recently and was very pleased that her regular carer talked with her about this. When she ran out of teabags they arrived the next day. Doing the ironing has been getting harder and harder for Mum. The staff have stepped in to help without any fuss. I think we struck really lucky with this agency!

Since being introduced to them, Ashwell Home Care Services have been nothing short of amazing! They are always at hand should any questions be needed, and the whole team are very easy to talk too. We get regular updates for my mum through the app provided, which is a great extra feature used by them.
My mum loves the visits made by Ashwell, and they are always able to put a smile on her face! They definitely have my mum's best interests at heart.

Ashwell Home Care Services are excellent - I can't say it any other way.
The compassion, professionalism and person-centred practice of all the carers and the leadership team is astounding. Everyone 'gets it'.

What inspired me to open Ashwell Home Care Services ?

Prior to my husband and I opening Ashwell Home Care Services I had been working as a Deputy Manager in a Residential Care Home. I realised that although the staff who worked there were competent and caring there were inconsistencies in the level of care and support given. My husband’s family had received care at home and the experience was not always good, this put pressure on us as a family as we weren’t involved or consulted by the agencies they used.


We felt that there was a real gap in the market for a care agency who wanted to transform the way that care is delivered in the community. Also, where the person receiving the care was made to feel like the most special person in the world and where we involved their families so that we could work together to improve the quality of the lives of those receiving the care. With this as our goal Ashwell Home Care Services was started and our journey began.

I started working in the Care sector over 20 years ago as a night care assistant and immediately knew that I had found my calling. My mother tells me that when I was a child, I wanted to be a doctor, not one who did injections or operations but one who helped people who weren’t feeling well and did what I could to make them better. It took me 2 children and a 17 year career working in the Travel Industry to realise my dream and now I spend every day making a difference to the people that we care for and support and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WHAT WE DO!

I am passionate about working with our clients and their families to improve their quality of life and to keep them living in their own homes for as long as they can. I also love being a voice for clients who haven’t got any family to rely on to make sure that they get the care they deserve. It gives me a great deal of pride to work alongside my husband and our daughter as well as our amazing team to offer a truly family focussed and driven experience and to make a real difference to the people we support.

I know first-hand what it's like to have your loved one receive care that is sub-par as this is what happened when my mum needed care towards the end of her life. It's because of this experience that Ashwell Home Care Services was founded from a desire to provide a level of care that transforms the way in which care is delivered within the community.

My name is Sandy Wisby, I was born in Hastings - East Sussex and have a younger sister.


I first started my journey in care at 15 years old visiting a local Nursing home and taking around tea after school and at weekends.


I then when I left school was given a full-time job there and while there, went and did Auxiliary training at the Royal East Sussex Hospital.


I have always worked in care for the last 45 years in various roles in a Hospice, I moved from East Sussex to Gloucestershire in 1989.


To work as a Manager both on a residential farm with Adults with learning disabilities, and then in various Domiciliary care settings.


Care is in my blood written right through me like a stick of rock.


My Career Highlights - Enabling positive transitions for adults with learning difficulties to move successfully from long stay institutions, to living active and positive lives within the community, supporting them to obtain work or work experience and achieve their goals preferences and wishes, with the opportunity for the ability to move onto supported semi independent living, and eventually where appropriate complete independent living within the community.
Enabling elderly and frail adults to be supported by carers delivering quality care, enabling and supporting them to be empowered to be at the centre of their person centred care, and to maintain their or increase their independence for as long as possible, so as to be able to remain in their own home for as long as they wish safely. Supporting and enabling End of Life Care to take place at home, and working alongside other professionals involved to achieve an individual’s and their family`s wishes, aspirations, preferences, choices and goals, for a positive end of life experience for all


I have a partner who used to be a flat race jockey, and we now have Appaloosa horses, whom we show, breed and are both ridden and driven, they are sports horses who do well in, Dressage and show jumping, and we also have an amazing but very old short legged jack Russell.


My Role at the moment is Care Quality Manager at AHCS
I am quite new to the company joining in January 2024 and I love the family feel of the company, the the care that is embedded throughout the company for not just the client but the staff as well. It's a real team environment with a great sense of humour and laughter at its core.
